What you've said in this video is very much my initial impressions too. Toyota have made the GR Sport that bit more special than the other models in the range. It's a delight to drive, handles extremely well and looks incredible.
As a GR Sport owner too, I'll say one thing: Put that baby love on a countryside road with some good corners and full send it. The GR Sport mods are so cool that those kind of roads become a playground for this car.
colour is a very personal choice , the galactic blue does look good , but i love the ash grey bitone as it,s a colour only available on the GR Sport and i,m sorry to say bitone is no longer available
Firstly, thanks for making and sharing your excellent videos. You obviously have great enthusiasm for the new Yaris GR-Sport and your previous Yaris cars. It's great to get a real owner's opinion of these fantastic machines. I've had a GR-Sport on order since 27 July 2022, Ash Grey same as yours and with the city pack. The delivery date quoted was 8 February 2023, now they are saying late September 2023 😱. I notice the bi-tone is no longer available to order any more, so I'm hoping they are going to send it with the black roof. Incidentally, I already have a 2021 Yaris in Design spec which will be going in PX. That's a lovely car, but I'm expecting the GR-S to be much better 🤞🍀. Keep up the good work and I look forward to seeing/hearing your thoughts on your car after a few months of ownership.
I do have a lot of passion for my Toyota’s, every one has been special in its own little ways I’ve owned Toyota products since 1999 I’m now on my 7th and all of them have been cars I’d get in and drive anywhere and never worry about them
man i watched literally every Yaris Hybrid video i can imagine on youtube, even the ones thats are not my language. and i have a feel that even though nothing has changed on the engine, CAN IT BE, that this car, due to the real exhaust and stuff, even sounds a bit more corny and sporty? i commented on your pickup video, i am about to pick mine up this or start of next week and i am mega excited, even more so after watching your lovely video. thanks very much for sharing your thoughts. i was initially torn apart by not knowing if i should get the grey or the red. but after seeing the red everywhere i took the same exact modle and color u have here. and i was still a bit sad that the light reflects in a way where it might lose a bit if its awesome design folds and lines, but afetr watching yoyur video i am glad i stuck with grey and have something rather special compared to other yaris drivers ^^ i am excited to feel the sporty ride myself in a few days ^^ cheers
The GR Sport in ash grey is the most stunning colour in the range , one of the reasons in all of toyota advertising they have used ash grey bitone colour scheme as it show the lines of the car off the best , pure white and the pearl white are also good looking colours , but like yourself i love the ash grey Thank you for taking the time to watch the videos , hope you enjoy them as much as i enjoy making them
I too have watched every Yaris GR Sport video on RUclips, in anticipation of receiving my own car. Sadly, and despite having ordered last July, the dealership is still quoting September delivery. Would be great if you write your impressions of your new car next week. Enjoy it!
I agree with everything you said in this video. I just bought this exact car model one week ago, and I must say it’s very different from the normal Yaris. It makes you feel like you’re driving a special car with all the Gr logos inside. Easy and fun to drive, I also think it makes a little bit more noise than the normal Yaris, what’s your thoughts on this?. I’m in loveee with this car just as you are, as I can see! Have fun with it!!!
It’s definitely not as quiet as the other models in the range, think it’s mainly due to the wheels and tyres, additional body strength, and different suspension and suspension bushings You can see how much fun I had in August when I did the world tour G R SPORT the MovieLANDS END TO JOHN O GROATS & NC500 IN 4 DAYS ruclips.net/video/GvtK78yU30g/видео.html
I ordered the city pack, but to be honest what I wanted was the parking sensor’s and blind spot sensors that were part of the package Sat nav was in the city pack Thanks for taking the time to watch the videos Much appreciated
Nice review and agree with everything you’ve said. I’ve had my GR-Sport since a crimbo week and already put 300miles on it ☺️ I love my old man’s Design which after driving regularly was the reason I bought a Yaris. In comparison that drives excellently and the comfort is top notch but there is just something special about the upgrades to the GR-Sport, handles like a dream, feels super sharp and yet is almost as comfy and is still effortless. Ashamed and annoyed to say I’ve nicked my front left alloy too, after being forced onto a curb by a van driver in a supermarket carpark on crimbo eve (2 days after I got it). Only a very slight one mind about 1.5cm on the edge of the alloy. But yeah these 18’s are far more vulnerable to damage than the 18”s was on my Corolla GR-Sport, I took liberties with that car and not one mark on the wheels 😂
I’ve managed to put 750 miles on mine since collecting it on the 6th of January Had a dynamic before that was a great car Yes the GR Sport is a lot better built Handles better And all the little changes make it feel special
I hope you've let your old man have a drive of your GR-Sport? Would be very interesting to hear his thoughts compared to his Design spec car. Moreso, as I'm trading my Design spec Yaris for a GR-Sport if it ever turns up.
He’s so impressed after driving the GRS on the day I picked her up I found myself back at the dealership ordering one for my dad Ash grey with city pack for my dad
@@mikemurphy7699 oh yes he’s driven it up into the Peak District near where we live and loves it. He loves the directness of the steering and especially loves the GR-Sport seats. Given his age he does prefer his Design as it’s more comfy (he’s 74) but he very much enjoyed having a hoot up in the hills with it 🙂
Well I think that says it all, mine is also ash grey with city pack. If it comes in September as planned, it will have been a 14 month wait for me. I ordered with a black roof, but see this option has been removed from the Toyota UK website. One of my biggest concerns was it will be a hard ride on the 18" alloys, as they didn't have one to test drive in our local (Jersey) dealership. I think the comments here indicate I have nothing to worry about. Based on your own unfortunate experience, I think I'm going to purchase alloy wheel insurance.
When I ordered the car , they didn't ask what equipment will come with the car 🤔 Do you think that they will offer me the City Pack, 🤔 Also it would help if you could do a video on the features of the City Pack 👍
City pack has to be ordered when you order the car It might be worth asking if they can add it to your order as your car has probably not gone into production yet
Thanks for this great review, very useful! It happens I have ash grey dynamic and currently considerring switching to GR Sport. Have you noticed increased consumption compared with your previous dynamic version? Due to wider tires and being heavier I believe several miles per gallon should be cut.
I’m going to say at the moment with me being a little old school I still run cars in So I’m getting mid 50,s mpg as of writing this reply I also live on top of a mountain so my fuel figures should not be used as a base to make a decision on buying one of these amazing cars My other vehicle is a 1.3 Suzuki jimmy and that’s only ever done tops 25mpg if I’m crazy careful I know people who regularly get 70+ mpg out of these cars, but they don’t have to drive up and down the mountain I live on multiple occasions every day whilst I’m working

Very interesting comparison. Glad it was worth the wait. Tempted to upgrade to this next time.
Glad you liked it!

Are the materials used any different to the dynamic you had?
I think they are
Things feel better to the touch
Car feels more ridged and everything feels tighter and better put together in the GR Sport
