- Since it was announced as Project Hazel and later revealed as the Razer Zephyr this mask has turned heads whether that's for good or bad is up to you. Razer sent this over to me and I had just had to make a video real fast to go over what's up with this goofy mask.

Sorry for the bad audio on this one. There was some construction close by that the mic picked up so I EQd it out but it made it a little thin sounding.

would be great for raves, raves are lowkey so exhausting and if you ahve a mask on its even more so, with this itll be way easier to breathe with the fans and it would look super dope with the LED

Also, I know this one kid at school who would bring his whole set up to school (his laptop, gaming headset, and mouse), so I wouldn't be surprised to see him wearing that mask.

bro, you can just cut out circles of a normal ffp2 or kn95 mask. thats what I do all the time, it's way cheaper. razer is going crazy with the price of their filters and I'm not willing to pay that lmao

razer laptops are notorious for grinding fans lol just replaced mine. imagine having your fan go out on your mask 😂
If I get my hands on one of these, I might actually try and paint over the face part with an Oni Mask Design and have the LEDs pulse Red.
It kinda sucks they didn't include like a microphone into the mask so people could hear you better but I guess it's to keep costs down
The pro version will have an amplifier.
They have a pro version that does just that it amplifies your voice and you can soon be able to change various tones and settings
It has potential. I'm surprised they didn't find a way to add speakers to the cans to allow your voice to be projected. Otherwise I agree with the comments about this being perfectly used for raves. Also makes sense to have this for locations that generally tend to have hot weather.
They had it in the prototype (alongside with UV storage case), but from what I know they ditched that feature to reduce weight and add battery life.

Looks like the cut features from their initial advertised product. Was suppose to come with a charging dock that also had UV for sterilization. They also mentioned microphone so you don't sound muffled when talking. Seems like they cut costs which is unfortunate.
I think that was for Project Hazel, this is the Zypher, which I believe is different.
Probably because they wanted to get something out before covid ends, it be a shame to spend all that effort and have a product that flops.
Given that this is the top video when searching for this product, let me review the mask part of the mask: The mask leaks, especially between the silicon and the mask, so you exhale into your eyes (fogging up any glasses you might wear), and the filters are bypassed. That silicon interface is also small enough that your mouth can stick out underneath easily. The fans aren't flow optimized, which means they have difficulty going through the filters, and simply slow down when you exhale.
Glasses fog is one of the biggest deal breaker

Bit curious about the upcoming pro version.
One thing I've not seen addressed so far is battery life. Since the filters are supposed to be rated for 8 hours x 3 (so, I guess 24 hour filters), I would think the mask's power supply should run with RGB and at least low fan speed for a minimum of 8 hours.
For what it's worth, I have heard that N95 filters can be cleaned and reused multiple times before they stop being effective, so I imagine that you could probably triple the lifespan of the filters whilst still being more effective than a cloth mask, at least. I'd have to look it up to get better numbers on that, chances are there has been at least one reported study on reusing filters, and how long they'll remain effective and under what conditions.
I think particularly if I flew a lot this would be a good thing to have. There's probably a few other scenarios like on a bus or train or something where it can be crowded in an enclosed space, but otherwise for all day use... I dunno... its a little much.
the only problem i have is that it almost impossible to buy one. they sold out immediately! i hope we don't have a scalping issue for this product!

How is it with your glasses? ie. do they obstruct the seal of the mask or do they fog up? I wear glasses and work retail so I wear my mask 8 hours a day and have to keep adjusting and pinching the nose part so my glasses don’t fog up.

I run audio/lighting and photo booths at weddings. Often they require a mask. I'm tempted to get this for work but I'm not sure I can pull it off nor am I sure the venue/guests would appreciate the attention it brings toward me lol.
You can get M9 Filters for a lot less and cut them to fit
I will like to use it mostly for traveling also wearing noise cancelling Bose or Sony headphones or earbuds. Try those if you could and let us know if the buzzing sound persists. Thanks.

My washable, sewn, cloth filter for my usual facemask has done well so far. I don't see why I can't just cut some circles out of some cloth the same way and shove those in there instead of buying new n95 replacements. Or even buy a big sheet of polypropylene fabric and cut circles out of that.

Unfortunately, I didn't land one. But I do want one. It would get used every summer during wildfire season. We moved to Colorado this summer. Between wildfires further west and other air quality alerts most of the summer...this would have been great.
I would be a little more inclined to get the next model with the speaker system in it so people can hear me better. I spend 8 hrs or better in a P100 because work with patience with compromised immune systems and a n95 is just a little to uncomfortable to work in all day being hot and muggy.
This is going to be trying to buy a PS5 all over again

An Airinum mask will set you back up to or over 100$ with a filter pack plus shipping.
They are even treated with antiviral agents on the front and they also have antiviral pouches
to store your masks or other items after use.
Although it doesn’t have RGB lights, it’s definitely a lot more stylish than most other masks
and very comfortable. Especially the version without exhaust holes. Their super thin 4 layer
filters lasts a long time, like 24 hours or. lre depending on whos you use it. They recommend
to change it if it starts smelling weird or gets dirty on the inside.
This Razer mask seems like a nice Stage 2 BETA and there’s probably a lot more improvement
to be done before it’s good enough to use.
The surface should be covered in some sort of antibacterial agent if it isn’t supposed to
he wiped. They should also partner up with noctua to make the fans quiet.
I’d like to think that this product would be priced closer to or even a bit over 200 bucks if
they decide to improve it.

I've already worn an oni-mask (with inlayed normal cloth-mask) as my daily driver.
I mean just because the situation is bad with all having to wear a mask, there is no need to stop being an individual. Well... and or being weird. ^^
I had my fun with that mask. Sadly we started to need those FFP 2 masks more and more, so I had to use them and I can't fit those coffee-filter-mask inside the oni mask.
So my Oni sits on a shelf and only waits for Halloween or something like that.

The cooling is the best feature in it. I hate having to wear a stupid mask but if I had to wear one it'd be this one.

I'd wear it. I wear and have a lot of things that get me stared at but I don't care. I do think my Xupermask is better than this but I still want one.

It looks bulky and a white version would be nicer in public. Wish they sold it cheaper and relied on the replacement filter’s cost to make a profit. Nice product though. I imagine it would be cool for people who already have to wear a half face mask 😷.

Are they though? Like, sure most people aren't really talking but at the same time the plane's engines are constantly audible. I'd be shocked if someone could hear the fans over the engines on a normal passenger jet.

Cost-wise, this isn't too bad. I've been spending ~US$208 per year on KN95 masks, as I wear a new one every day and I'm working 5 days a week. The cost of this would be US$261 per year, which isn't a huge increase other than the upfront $99.99 mask cost.
My problem is the huge size of the mask and how my voice would be muffled, especially if I have the mask on and am talking on the phone. In its initial announcement by Razer in the past, it was planned to have a voice amp, but it looks like Razer removed it.

just got it and YEAH the fan noise is extremely unbearable. Was hoping to wear this at the office but the noise is simply way too distracting.
It doesn’t make sense to purchase one if you didn’t even plan on using it. I’d kill for one of these since my job requires me to wear a N-95 for 12+ hours.

If you wear it daily yes. But if you wear it sparingly like myself, airports and certain public spots. Well worth it
Amazon is already selling third party replacement filters at a cost of 11~14 dollars for 50 filters.

@@jtrautman9654 The front part? There are only two filters on both sides. The front part you see is not a filter but a silicone pad to hold your nose and chin, I believe it is removable and washable.

idk why N95 is so the must have rating . Technically P95 is the better Rated filter . Its protective from Oily like particulates which yes sneeze airbourne juices are consider oily substance. N95 doesnt protect from oily particulates.

This is a cool gimmick but not really long run stuff, especially for 100 bucks.
They dropped the sound amp because they added too much weight. They never said they were going to make a white version. You can turn RGB off via the phone amp.

Airlines probably wouldn't let you fly with it. While it does filter the air going out, airlines don't allow masks with vents because those ones don't. I doubt you'd be able to make the argument with every person you come across, and have them listen, that this one is different. It's easier for them to just tell you to wear a cloth mask or miss your flight
