- Sony A90J OLED IMAX Enhanced with AV Receiver eARC Settings and Bravia Core demo. Imax Enhanced DTS: X sound only with Bravia Core using AVR that supports Imax Enhanced. I used Denon X6500H to test this in the video.

@@Toschh I am using the Sony KD55 AG9 TV and the Marantz 7013 SR amplifier and the sound is magnificent from the TV left and right when a movie is playing the people on the screen

Good stuff. Suggestion, if you have Klipsch speakers get marantz AVR please. I chose denon and had to adjust a lot because denon + klipsch is bright , I had to play with EQ a lot to get the sound I wanted. My next upgrade will be Marantz AV processor and external amps.
Have you seen the new HDMI 2.1 receivers for this year? How many 2.1 inputs do they have and do you think they will be under 750 on Black Friday for a 9.2 receiver?
(16:9 is the native ratio of HDTVs--so 16:9 content will have no black bars at the top or bottom or left or right.)

I am waiting for 83". I will see if I really need to get it calibrated because in the beginning it is not worth it to get calibrated. Sony will be launching few software updates and which sometimes do some changes to picture settings and processing, I will wait and make sure that TV has been broken in and has several hours to be sure that it is ready for calibration.

but to me LG G1 is my best!

from my experience
DTS better with dialog
Dolby atmos better with bass
for internal tv speaker I recommend Dolby atmos
for true surround sound DTS, but you can test both which suite you more
Can't wait to get hands on LG G1.

Edit: i thought imax enhances was only for video, but it also seems to do something with sound. I didn’t know that. I thought you would only get dts when you watch movies on bravia core.
Yes you can get IMAX enhanced with a receiver without hdmi 2.1 but make sure it has that feature, i have seen this feature on 2018 onwards models from Denon and Marantz. It should say on the website if supports IMAX enhanced or not.
Some old receivers got the update for IMAX enhanced as well, make sure to check that as well.

Excellent video one question , I have the A90J tv and I already set it up the divices but then after I turn it off and then turn it on again it shows me the notification to set it up the devices again any idea why is doing that ??

You show pics of the Spider-Man movie filling the screen but when you did the video showing the sound it had black bars on top and bottom which is the same thing I am seeing. How does it fill up the screen??

It's close to the 4K Ultra HD Blu ray disc but not quite there.
Help!! Muffled sound when streaming from TV app (Netflix or HBO)!!
My A90J is connected with a single hdmi (Audioquest 8K/10K) to the AVR. (I have the same audio setting as you showed in the video)
Individually, the AVR, the speakers are working properly. The TV streaming apps work also properly because I tested with the TV speakers.
When the streaming app only pass through a 2.0 audio, the sound is also fine.
The real problem is when the streaming app (Netflix, HBO Max) pass through a surround sound mix, 5.1 or above, the muffled sound starts and no way to find solution..
How is the motion handling on the a90j?

It is as expected from Sony. I wish I can put into words but it is certainly better than my CX.
How do you compare A90J vs LG CX? I plan to get one of those two, however in my country the difference between prices is 2000 EUR.

How to enable IMAX mode? I'm watching a imax movie from the bravia core on a Sony xr x90j with imax enhanced picture mode but I'm still getting the black bars like on the wide screen version?
Sony A90j screen is very high or medium brightness and how is the brightness level of ABL
I haven't noticed it being aggressive until now. some people said it was aggressive in gaming. I have been watching movies and shows mostly.

Yes Scott. That is 77 inch CX on the full motion wall mount.
@@MyGadgetsWorld can’t wait to see that baby up and running man. Like I mentioned I do have the CX ordered but have been nervous of how it would perform in a brightish room bud.
@@Scott-cy6zv it will do fine with the bright room. Just make sure to not place it right in front of the window. I have CX in pretty bright media room and with regular lights and that type of brightness is totally fine with OLED. Problem is mostly with the sunlight and really big windows where light is directly coming at screen or in front of window.

Hello, I purchased a 83 A90J recently. For some reason IMAX Enhanced movies do not change to the IMAX Ratio.
I know that not all IMAX Enhanced movies have the IMAX Ratio, I tried Spiderman Far from Home but the movie stayed in the Letterbox format, any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
Some of the movies it’s not the whole movie. It’s only certain scenes that go full screen.

I use a Sony ST5000 (Dolby Atmos/DTS:X) soundbar. If I get this receiver, will it push that IMAX DTS to that soundbar? I don’t have room for a real dedicated set up.
Not sure about soundbar supporting that. It is with only few receivers
@@MyGadgetsWorld yeah I just looked it up. Soundbars don’t really work with receivers. That’s a huge shame. I’m sure my soundbar will still pair nicely. I’m currently using a Sony 950G and I want the Sony A80J depending on how much of a downgrade it is to this A90J. I can’t afford a 4,000 65 inch. Sonys website says the A80J has the same processor and makes hdr highlights brighter so I’m assuming it may be like the LG G1 without a heat sink. Do you have any info on that model?

Yes. it is because I am using built in microphone. If you turn off built in microphone it wont show and also there is an option in the settings to disable it.

Novice here. Can you please explain the difference between DTSX and IMAX enhanced DTSX.
IMAX enhanced is more optimized sound which is more tweaked for movies to make you feel that you are in IMAX theater, similar to how you see HDR vs Dolby Vision in picture modes.

man, imax dts + neural x does not equal to dolby atmos. when you get neural:x your avr is running upmix. IMAX DTS:X is what you want :)

Hello I bought an A80J and am watching far from home on bravia core but the picture doesn't fill the screen. Does it show on yours without the black bars? I thought imax enhanced offered this for some titles and far from home appears on the home screen 🤷♂️
I have the same question. SONY says they will be full screen movies but so far it is another lie from SONY. I have the 77 inch A80J. Worried that letter boxed movies are bad for OLED.

Every sound format works properly on my AVR, but when I play one of the Bravia Core 'Imax' titles that shows 'DTS', I get NO SOUND. Every other app/connection etc will work fine in giving me DTS X, Atmos etc. But the Bravia Core app is the only one that gives me problems (using eArc to my Sony AVR) If a movie just says 'HD', sound will work as normal.

When you switch the TV sound to act aa center channel does it still give you the surround effect? Or is it just sound in mono like a normal center channel?

Yeah, AFAIK, Enchanced does not have LFE channel. Instead it puts LFE inside all other channels...
Including the subwoofers, It is more like when you set your speakers as Large and and every speaker plays low frequencies along with the subwoofers. like main + lfe

MyGadgetsWorld..Paramount Studios also has IMAX ENHANCED films. You can access them on the Fandango Now app on Sony TV'S. They have The Transformers, Star Trek, Dark Fate and a few others on there. You should do a video on those also

There are just limited titles which are IMAX enhanced. It has to say that in the info on the menu page of the movie.
@@MyGadgetsWorld GRIMSBY is in the IMAX Enhanced section and it doesn’t require a token.
@@criticalshot516 what type of sound are you getting? Some movies maybe in IMAX but for Audio only if they were not shot in IMAX aspect ratio. Even Far From Home is not shot completely in IMAX and you will see switching between letterbox to IMAX.

I just redeemed “All the money in the world” which says it’s an IMAX Enhanced title. Watched it in IMAXE picture mode. No change in aspect ratio. What’s the point? How do u get this to work?

I would be surprised if they don't put the Bravia core app on the ps5 it would be a nice selling point
It seems that you are not using DTS:X. Your receiver shows DTS + Neural X, that's why your top speakers are on but it's just lossy DTS upmixed so that's not equal to Atmos. The equivalent would be DTS:X but Sony tvs don't support DTS:X passthrough.

It is not always full screen. Only scenes that sre shot in IMAX will be full screen.

Until they REMOVE ABL, I simply CANNOT recommend gaming for anyone who chooses to game on an Oled.
The automatic adjustment of a screens brightness is horrible and something that cannot be controlled because Sony/Lg etc have this in place when it detects a static image for too long.
It’s a shame people who review Oled TVs do not mention this/
*sure you can limit this slightly by lowering Peak Luminance, but then you can never truly get your picture truly BRIGHT how you want too
I have gamed on my LG B6 for 5 years ABl has never been an issue games look amazing on OLED and no I don’t have burn in either just ordered the A90J last week my PS5 will look amazing on that too no doubt
I watch more movies, and am a casual gamer (Xbox One X). This isn’t a deal breaker for me.
