    Sounds like you’d love the 54t sprocket as it’s just a bit more torque for those climbs but has better top speed then the 58 😎🤙🏼🤙🏼

    I have stock. I'd like input on the only shortcoming we have (keeping stock controller/battery.) I ride in Pennsylvania mountains and long uphills are doable, but I'd like to have more power through the climb. When it's very technical uphill (tight, single track, muddy roots everywhere!) more torque with a 52T, may may mean even less control/traction than 48T -- but it could also give quicker run-ups for momentum from the bottom. IMHO controlled momentum is key for uphills! I"m not int'd in a wheelie machine or top end speed at all. Think tight, slippery woods riding. Decisions/decisions. What do you think?

    • @ridefarm5528
      @ridefarm5528  2 года назад +1

      For very tight trails, I would go 58T. I do understand your concern over difficult traction but I think 58T will be more advantageous overall.

      @@ridefarm5528 Thank you for the info. It is interesting to note, I think tight/woods where we rarely, if ever need top speed seems to be better application of larger sprocket. Benefits torque and mileage, can't wait to test out!

    I am curious, it appears as if both of you may be running stock tires. For technical, very slippery uphill, single track, thinking about 58T and I have a Kenda 70/100 19 that has much better traction.

    • @ridefarm5528
      @ridefarm5528  2 года назад +1

      bigger sprocket is a must if you run heavier tires. After I used up my stock tire, I swapped it out to shinko. I love the traction but it certainly feels a bit slower.

    • @ridefarm5528
      @ridefarm5528  2 года назад +1

      52 and 54 should have minimal difference. I would definitely go with 58T if you have bigger wheels. Those big wheels rob so much torque.

      I bought a 52T, I use for mostly street with some off road and my regen braking is turned off too. If you start riding eco and then only switch to sport when you need it, and not constantly holding down the throttle the battery life impact won’t be as bad and of course better if you have regen braking on. I also own the super moto kit with 44t sprocket too. 52t set up for winter and 44t for summer.

    • @AarPlays
      @AarPlays 3 года назад +2

      It depends on how you run it. On the street you aren't doing a lot of stop, go, stop go, stop, go slow, go, stop. The extra teeth help with keeping the torque off the engine at 0-5mph and let's it get up to mid speed with less energy. However, it costs more energy the faster you go because the engine needs to spin faster for the same top speed. Lower speeds = more teeth (most of the time) higher speeds and more time spend running than accelerating = less teeth. Try the 42 socket for the super moto kit and see what happens :)

  • @guiseppe36749
    @guiseppe36749 Год назад

    the problem with the surron is it already performs really well and when you want to improve stuff you mess up the balance. I had a 58T, great for wheelies and hillclimbs, better response,... but the 55km/h top speed really makes it boring... went back to 52T for a middle ground but it's hardly any different than stock, just 5km/h less top end... idk if it's even worth the money...

    • @ridefarm5528
      @ridefarm5528  Год назад +2

      Sprockets really are personal preference i think, since it just relocates the power. I had friends who are happy with their 62t while some are happy with stock.
