He deserved the jail time and 5yrs of restitution period. Only because he missed a solid hit with the hammer he still tried to do serious bodily injury. I respect his military background but that doesn’t lessen what he tried to do. Ask yourself this question if it was you that he swung at with a freaking 3lb hammer would you be making the same comments?

The Judge said, ".....fight, you're a Federal Hill kid, keep fighting..." that is probably what got him into the 30 day jail sentence in the first place, because he kept on fighting. His neighbor should consider himself blessed that this Korean War vet didn't bury him. Yes, Thank you for your service sir to a country that really doesn't care much about freedom anymore!

Wearing a veteran's hat or shrit is the oldest trick in the book. F that. I'm a veteran w/4 tours to Iraq; I don't use that if I break the law.

30 days in jail? These thugs get away with a slap on the wrist for much worse crimes, it is so damn unfair.

Luckily the old fella only grazed his head for a stitch.

@@marquisgt Your dichotomous comment is hilarious.
If someone verbally insults someone ,they start the altercation by being a villain and usually become a victim from there own actions.
If a girl dresses provocatively she isn’t a villain and doesn’t deserve to be a victim of anything except wandering eyes.
Every action has at the minimum an equal and opposite reaction .
I’m not judging the victim, I’m stating how he became one .
      Cheers 🍻
