@@GuestDude_HandlesAreDumb I’m aware of that. He got a parking ticket because he improperly parked when paying his restitution for assault. It’s almost like that joke when Defendant Jones went before Judge Smith: “Your Honor..Your Honor..,I cant go to prison. I’ve had a hard life and I’m even an orphan..” “Are you kidding me, Defendant Jone? I sentencing you for murdering your parents…”
I asked about him when visiting Rhode Island. He is in a nursing home these days. The neighbor who got smacked with the hammer stole Mr. Lancelotti's parking spot. It bugs me that the neighbor would take an older Vet's spot. Neighbor is lucky he's still alive, Federal Hill people don't play!
I'm speechless .. A man who fought the War in Korea and now at 86 years of age having to pay $30 Restitution for 5 years, because he had an issue with a neighbour using a 3lb Hammer.. well, that sounds like an $1,800 headache to me with one stitch thrown in for good measure. Thank you for giving this upstanding hibernating Squirrel a break Judge Caprio .. 🇬🇧👌🏼❤️
The implications of that veteran for paying restitution of $30 every month, it involves him driving down to the court house at the age of 86, finding parking, and having to walk in himself all the way in and back out. For over 5 years he’s been doing this. He’s already spent 30 days in jail. I feel for him and I hope he is doing well.
For a man whos been to hell and can speak first hand of its horror's, for him to say 30 days in a RI jail is the worst thing that can happen to a human being should not be taken lightly. There should be congressional hearings at the state and federal levels. We need more funding and training for the industrial prison system.
I would’ve never guessed that fellow is 86. I got a good chuckle when he said “problem between the ears.” I’ve got the same problem, but never heard it put that way before.
Even in Germany- with much lower sentences than in the USA, you will go to jail for something like that. Hitting someone on the head with a hammer is no joke. It even could be "Attempted manslaughter" and you will go to prison for 2+ years
No. Being a vet, doesn't matter if he's veteran or not. He's trying to get off by wearing a veterans hat and that he served time for assault. He got a ticket, he needs to pay it. Pay it and follow the rules like everyone else.
He deserved the jail time and 5yrs of restitution period. Only because he missed a solid hit with the hammer he still tried to do serious bodily injury. I respect his military background but that doesn’t lessen what he tried to do. Ask yourself this question if it was you that he swung at with a freaking 3lb hammer would you be making the same comments?
The Judge said, ".....fight, you're a Federal Hill kid, keep fighting..." that is probably what got him into the 30 day jail sentence in the first place, because he kept on fighting. His neighbor should consider himself blessed that this Korean War vet didn't bury him. Yes, Thank you for your service sir to a country that really doesn't care much about freedom anymore!
