@@nelsoncr2817 People are always so quick to blame "the system", whether it's the government, the education, etc, and yes they have to improve but what's most important is to look at oneself and how our parents influenced our upbringing. Family comes first and it's the root upon which we grow as an adult. You don't ask the neighbour to come into your house every time there's an issue and expect them to solve it or blame them for not doing it. Switch the mindset and help others see they have to take their future into their own hands first and then maybe "the system" can help but not the other way round. We will all be better for it. Cheers.

Because of my situation, we didn't have the funds to get her visa sorted and the judge ripped us apart. A lawyer watched it, came out and gave us his card. Those American doctors saved my life and I think that's all they were focused on. I'm forever grateful, but insurance companies are the scum of the earth who will try and wiggle out of anything.
I have two friends in the US who are doctors and even they are jaded by the constant money chasing. If I was wealthy if choose America every time, but the NHS even found the reason my wife couldn't conceive and done IVF free of charge because their philosophy is "you pay tax, you deserve a child." I now have 2 children who have American passports.
I fell in love with the USA. It was just a series of shitty situations and I'm sad I had to leave.

That's how parents teach sympathy and the guilt of right and wrong. I can't say this about my mom but when I messed up with my dad, (they split when I was 8 but are friends but still had their own styles when each had me at their houses) who actually let me make mistakes growing up, he would never say:
"Dana I am furious with you! How could you?"
      Instead, he would always say:
"Dana, I am very disappointed in you. I know you're better than that"
      When I would say:
"Dad you're not mad at me?"
      He would always say:
"How can I be mad when I'm the one letting you grow and learn for yourself. I'm your guidance, not your decision maker, and it was my decision to be your guidance..I'm not mad...I'm disappointed. This is your life. You need to control what you do. If you think I'll be disappointed then maybe you know it's not what you should be doing."
It hit hard so bad every time almost like I would have rathered him be mad...but it taught me how to make smart decisions on my own through my own experience...and to this day I learn for myself and think every decision before I make it...I thank him because it taught me to make smart decisions..you cannot learn if they are being made for you...
Disappointment is supposed to hurt and make you feel guilt. I was way more sorry after too from a young age and didn't do what I did again. My mom berated me for the most petty crap and it made me want to rebel and do it more as a control thing. She was controlling. It made me controlling. Safe to say going to my dads house every Thursday-Sunday was the highlight of my week every week. He was and still is such a healthy parent.

I agree and disagree. We really need to simplify all the laws and regulations. The cops can bust you for some minor law you broke if they look hard enough. However there still is a need for fines. How else do you enforce traffic laws? No way you sending anyone to jail for a parking violation or speeding or running a red light

@@josuebalderas2075 tbh, i agree with him. Im usually looking into the speeding fines of the country im in and decide hoe much over the limit is still worth it for me from there. The only countries i dont speed in are the one with excessively high fines or the ones that make the fine dependent on income. Same with parking. If a parking ticket is 25$ im often tempted to just park. They dont catch me everytime and parking lotx charge money as well. So if i get caught only 1 out of 3 times im not even spending more.

You know what, you have a good point and it got me thinking. I tried to find a middle ground between @Evan Cress and @Josue Balderas. What if the fines were somehow proportional to the excise tax paid on the car when it was registered by the owner. That would translate to people with expensive cars paying higher in fines than people with cheap cars. Why base it on the excise tax? I just thought it would be easier to implement since the DMV already has that data for everyone. Would love to hear other people's perspective on this issue.

    • @coastaledge3790
      @coastaledge3790 3 года назад +1

@@adamdebesai I like this idea. Although the price of the car may not relate to the amount of money that person actually makes at that time. They could’ve bought the car when they were in a better financial position or been gifted it from a wealthier relative. Either a fine based on income or even based on total capital gains and net worth would work, as most millionaire and billionaires have the bulk of their money in assets, not reported as income

@@coastaledge3790 You have a good point and thank you for the original comment because it is interesting and thought provoking. I think I can at least fix the gift issue because when you receive the car as a gift, I believe you pay no taxes since it was technically not sold. Plus people who get cars as gifts probably cannot afford to buy a car. But I definitely see how my idea can be unfair to some folks.

I am from norway, in theory we dont have life sentences here, (there is a version of it where you get maximum 21Y and reevaluated but there is no sentenced to life impriosnment) and a motto guards and wardens have here is "Every inmate will eventually become someone's neighbour, hence the goal of prisons is to help people become good neighbours"
The education for the job of prison guard is much longer and much more focused on the skills of a social worker than a bouncer. (Same goes for police here). Judges like Frank and Laywers like the one here are the people America needs to go the right direction. When you treat people like human beings they act like human beings, if ypu treat them like an animal, beast, monster, how can you expect them not to behave like an animal beast or monster. God bless you we need more good people who see the potential in others.

I have never spent time in prison but I always thought people who have served their time shouldn’t be penalized any longer. I got a little emotional to in a happy sense. This gentleman who seems to be trying to turn his life around deserves a break and Judge Caprio is the perfect person to handle this case.

It really affected his life. I wish you the best. Keep going and have faith because there are good people out there.
