I thought puting the trailer wheels directly on the top of Brompton, without any padding in between was not such a good idea for checking it in... Isn´t there any special pocket for the trailer wheels? Wat is the total weight of the empty trailer?
Brompton say it’s not designed for a lot of things, like bike touring, going off road, being ridden by people who weigh more than 110kg, etc. But a lot of Brompton owners, with their best Bill Wurtz impression say “how about I do anyway”. This trailer probably will be fine as long as you don’t do anything silly, it’s attached by the axle which is a strong and load bearing part of the bike, but don’t come crying to Brompton because you were trying to tow a few bags of cement down a mountain and your brakes/rims melted
@@fojrsepta4959 In the world of folding bicycles with 20" / 16" wheels, in the best known brands worldwide (Dahon, Brompton, Bickerton, Tern, etc.), the folding system is not the same. Hi Ren, good question! Our chubby trailer is padded, plus it has the bicycle trailer frame. This combination makes it a strong protection for your bike. We have many good reviews of customers. And please be aware that the whole Chubby bicycle trailer with the bicycle inside isn’t something Magnus, the baggage handler, would easily toss and throw!
@@radicaldesign I dont quite collow your comment. Are you suggesting that is bag with a brompton would be safe for checked iairline traveland wont result in the destruction of the bag or bike, because you claim it wont be tossed about? im 100% sure it will be tossed about, and i dearly hope you accounted for this when designing the padding ! otherwise you are dooming your customers to destroyed bags and bikes!
Hi! Thats a type of Duffel bag we at the end developed in the Brompton Backpack www.radicaldesign.com/brompton-backpack You can use this as a backpack for your brompton or a duffel which fits perfectly in your Chubby!
I have my doubts about the padding would enough to stand against the airport staff’s throwing skills and the trailer wheels on top would smash the bike.
I love that with the right stuff, you could actually live pretty comfortably with just these.
So amazing. I was even more impressed seeing that the Brompton can be put in "park" mode while the trailer is still attached!
Oh this looks great!!! 👍🏻
That's one of the best designs I've ever seen.
It is ideal,to use the Brompton with the trailer in Bus and railway.

Nice color on that bike.
Very nice, but I somehow missed the part about checking in and flying.
Nu nog een ingebouwde hoes om de wielen in op te kunnen bergen. De wielen zomaar bovenop de Brompton leggen doet pijn aan mijn ogen.
what kind of saddle is that on the bike?
Thank you Radical Design)))

The bike and rack are not designed to pull a trailer. ???

Excellent design Radical Design, but you can create one for the Dahon Folding Bikes. Congratulations..!!
This WON'T work for many brands?

The Radical Design trailer (from the video above) has a design for brompton folding bicycles. Not for Dahon folding bike or similar.
How well does it protect the bike though? I guess I’m asking if Magnus, the baggage handler, chucks this thing is my bike screwed?
