    FYI … Trailers will void the warranty on a Brompton unfortunately. When asking Brompton about weight limits if I bought a trailer, they told me it would void the warranty and I checked the manual and it states under intended use, “We do not recommend fitting a child seat or trailer to the Brompton Electric, doing so will invalidate the Brompton Electric warranty.”

    • @2Bikes4Adventure

      @@2Bikes4Adventure note that I asked brompton to clarify if this applied to non-electric bikes and they replied just now and said it applies to all of their bikes. Trailers void the warranty on all the bikes sadly.😢

    As usual, a fenomenal video, just how it needed to be: very informative, well made and to the point! Thank you so much. We’re planning on a few domestic trips here in Belgium, and this information will help me. Luckily I do have the C-bag (was last one in stock at my Brompton dealer), and I have an older Ortlieb bag, which is waterproof, and can be fitted standing upright. Some smaller bag like Gilberts at the handle is maybe another extra!

    I would love it if Brompton made a bag that both fits on the front block and also doubles as a two strap backpack. I like to travel light and it would be helpful to, when necessary carry the Bromy and not have the awkwardness of a single strap. I love your detailed presentations and follow all your uploads. Thanks

    SUGGESTION: 2Bikes4Adventure might want to check out Ibera's Mini Commuter Bicycle Carrier Rack. I had it on my trail bike and discovered that it mounts perfectly on the seat post of my Brompton. Its light, inexpensive ($30), and easy to attach or detach. Even more important, it gets you into Ibera's extensive set of quick-release bike bags, which cost less than their Brompton equivalents.

    I tried all the bags shown (apart from the T and C Bags because they don't fit with the S-handlebar) in a store and I had my decision to buy the Metro Messenger Large Bag and the S Bag as both fit my commuting needs and they had a lot of space to store my clothes and had a sleeve for my laptop (unlike my Basket Bag)

    Started looking through some of your videos and they provide a wealth of knowledge for someone thinking about touring on a Brompton. Where do you stay as I dont see you carrying any camping gear. The obvious advantage is you can carry a lot less and enjoy the comforts of a roof over your head. Probably the best way for someone starting off . Do you book AirBnb ahead or are you more flexible regards accommodation?
    Thank You.

    • @2Bikes4Adventure
      @2Bikes4Adventure  3 года назад +1

      Hi Stephen. We are indeed “credit-card touring” (no camping). This keeps our baggage light and ensures a hot shower and a warm bed at the end of each day (usually through a pre-booked accommodation prior to departure). You may find more details in our video: ruclips.net/video/gUIWFdUnWwk/видео.html

  • @Ivandrago89

    You could also use a handheld weighing scale which has a hook, your bag can be suspended from this hook mid-air. In this way you should get an accurate reading

    • @2Bikes4Adventure

      We always use one of those prior to departure (you can see it in this video ruclips.net/video/JREWZn_wFOU/видео.html at 01:53)

    I tried to buy a C bag today, then I realized the bag I bought in December, 2013 ,is a C bag. I found the receipt, and an insert that was dated 2010, It also has a Radicaldesign tag sewn on the inside pocket. Do you know if Brompton changed the size over the years. You reference having Two of them. and I think you have mine as well. When Pam is wheeling her luggage in your last video she appears to have a bigger C bag, then the one Gilbert is opening and giving a thumbs up sign (Grey and silver with a clear plastic business card sleeve- the one I have and used as a Brief case to go to work with). Never thought I could live out of Brief Case for a week! Eagerly anticipating Pam's Dry Canadian response to that one, or you can let Gilbert give it in French, I married a Quebecer!

    • @2Bikes4Adventure
      @2Bikes4Adventure  3 года назад

      Hi Jonathan,
      In fact, we see 3 generations of C-Bag in the video (2 belong to Pam and one belongs to Gilbert).
      The oldest one, made by Carradice (06:50) had a zippered top flap, single layer fabric and was attached to an all-metal frame.
      A newer version by RadicalDesign (05:07) was introduced about 10 years ago (that’s probably the one you have). It has a plastic/metal frame, yellow lining and a Velcro flap (with a zippered pocket). It’s slightly roomier (and expandable) than the old Carradice version.
      The latest C-Bag (07:05), still made by RadicalDesign, has some minor improvements (bigger rear pockets and dedicated stow-away rain cover pockets,…), but is basically the same interior size.
      Yes, a C-Bag is sufficient (for us) for a 1-month “credit-card” touring trip.
      PS “Bonjour/HI” to your spouse !
