You can tell what trade a person is by the tools they carry, i was in sheet metal and i carried lineman's pliers and used them for straightening edges of metal. I had a belt like yours for many years and usually carried a pair of snips, a large flat blade screw driver, a tinners hammer(often confused with a blockmasons hammer but different), and assorted odds and ends i also had a nail apron tied on for screws. Fun stuff
Super lean belt setup; very practical tool curation. I'm trying to pare down my daily carry as trim carpenter, so my needs are of course different, but your video is inspiring. Thank you!
My tool belt got so heavy I had to add suspenders. Going to a smaller bag makes a lot of sense and it's probably next for me. Good you can sew. I have become a master of the button attachment over the years. One year I got lucky and found some one had put a nice Singer out in the boulevard within a turned leg hardwood cabinet. I think it's maple. It's nice looking and hides the sewing machine within.
Very interesting. You are very good at modifying the bag. I also swap tools depending on the work in order to keep the bag light. I like it to be “lean and mean”. Would you show us your bigger tool belt that you use foe fence building? Very curious to see how you set that up.
I still have my tool belt back from 86/87 my senior year I haven't used it in quite a while I went with a with a belt and I can switch my pouches from side to side like I wanted and I added an extra pouch from a job that I did and kind of customized how I needed it some of the guys from school had there pouches riveted into the belt so there is no adjustment which I didn't like I think back when I bought my belt and pouches cost me like maybe 20 bucks 25 and I'll probably by the same one I'm probably looking 60-70 at least if not more The more pouches you have on the belt and more stuff to add more weight you're dragging around I never weighed mind lately. But I would say and easily 50 to 60 pounds is what it weighed maybe more
Love those old metal drill bit boxes

so true ... tools are like a fingerprint and once you're used to your tools it's hard to shift over. I bet you used some great tools!
@@metaspencer not working in the trades anymore but still got my tools on stand by if need be lol

Thanks for checking it out. Yeah, we've all gotta customize what we carry ... it's all about dialing in the system that works for you and what you do.

Sounds like a cool machine!
I liked that belt review a lot. I sew a lot of stuff too so it's good to know other people sew up creative ideas as well.
Thanks! My sewing is a bit rough but I like it :)

Light enough to run every day ... and I still use the same setup
