Larry only carried on him what he needed for that job, and when he changed jobs he changed tools. the rest was in the bucket, on the bench, or in the truck.
I like quality tools, just as you do. They last longer. Thank you for taking the time to show us what you use. May I suggest listing the tools in the description? This would be helpful for those who are not familiar with some of the brands.
Nice video. I have the same 5191 rig; however. I added the shoulder harness. I agree with the tape measure pouch, it is dead space as I am a left side tape user. I wish Occidental would add a pouch similar to the left side top pouch or resize the pouch for the modern tape widths. 👍🏼👍🏼
Roy Alvarez hi bud, can you added the shoulder harness to this specific model 5191? The thing is that I don’t see holes where you can hook it up, I will appreciate if you have some extra time to reply, cheers :)
if you still have these bags and are interested in getting your fatmax in the tape holder on the right side, shove it in there, then wrap the pouch with a cloth or towel that's been soaked in warm water. it'll loosen up the leather and the tape will slide in and out no problem
Hey man I know a few carpenters with these bags, no one uses the intended tape pocket, but the way you have it set up it I’ve seen a lot of guys use it the way you do but they have the chalk line and the tape (the way you have it) switched, tape in chalk line pocket and chalk line in YOUR junk pocket
I've never seen a $400 speed square...omg...I can appreciate quality tools for a professional no doubt...but that is robbery IMO. I'd be embarrassed to tell people what I paid for that thing, no way any speed square is worth that unless its made of pure gold haha
Awesome video. Could you please put ur tools with amazon links in description. Would make it alot easier for us to find them and your channel will get supported with commission as well.
Occidental... Simply the best. I have the Pro Framer and did mostly roofing. I don't know why most belts have take measure clips on the right side. Most people are left handed and mark with their right hand. Grab tape with left hand, hook end, pull, mark with free (dominant) hand. I keep my FatMax & Tajima exactly where you keep yours. 😊
Because most tapes read left to right and they want you to read the numbers easier, but what carpenter can’t read upside down and backwards or mark accurately with their left hand
Just my 2 cents. Put your chalk line in the pouch on the right hand side that "you dont really use" then put your tape in the pouch that you had your chalk line in. That why you have 2 fastener pouches.
DeWalt "these hooks are garbage!!!! "Haha! Do you hear the man? I hope so, this is who you want to sell to, and if you want that kind of $, you should listen.
Clean with saddle soap and wipe down with golden minx oil and it’ll last nearly forever. Only need to do once a year if not once every two years. Treat it a lot like a saddle.
I see that your belt doesn't have the suspenders. Is there any cons to having suspenders? Also what belt would you recommend that's on the cheaper side, is comfortable and will do for up 6 months until one can afford a 500 dollar belt. Thanks
I’d say cons to having suspenders is that they rub on your neck and shoulders and get irritating after a long day. I used to run suspenders on my first pouch, it was a tuff e nuff pouch I got off of Amazon I believe it was under 50 dollars at the time, it was a great starter pouch, but you’d probably only get about 6 months out of it if you were using it daily.
I believe larrys dalluge was a 24 ounce..... that being said i build concrete foundations and i use that same hammer (for building only not stripping due to the wood handle) by far the best hammer i ever swung!!!
The way Larry Haun used to swing his hammer, I had presumed he used at least a 26 oz., or possibly a 28 oz. framing hammer. To learn he used a 21 oz. is a bit of a surprise.
Hi, great description. I am looking for a Occidental tool belt (one piece) like the one you have. Before I purchased it I would love to know if you can attach the Occidental suspenders to your particular belt? Most reviews on look at the belt which has swap out bags.
What kind of overstrike protection is that on your hammer handle or is it just a funky wrap of some kind of tape (electrical?)? I used to be able to find plastic overstrike protection for wood handled hammers but not anymore.
That stainless steel Stiletto nail puller is pure garbage. Mine survived only a couple of nails until one of the horns broke off. Took it back to Atlas Machinery and I was not the first one who brought it back.
I personally never had any issues with mine but I believe you. I had a task brand one for the longest time and the horns broke off both ends. Titanium is definitely stronger
Same hammer as Larry... ya but can you bury a 16 penny sinker with two hits? ;-) Btw... I don’t think dewalt intended for you to hang that nailer from your belt. That’s a rafter hook and the angle that you mentioned helps you hook the rafter despite the extra bulk of the tool. That said, they really should put a belt clip on it like the drill/drivers do. I also can’t stand a tape on the right. That side is for marking. The left is for measuring.
I can sink a 16 in 2 licks if I really try lol as for the hook yes I know it’s intended as a rafter hook but it is way handier to be able to hang it off your belt idk that’s just me
@@AustinTischler I looked, but most videos of Aquadeo are mostly of little kids playing around, some fishing... not too interesting. I grew up on a northern lake, and the very best time to explore is right after the ice goes out. Take out a Kayak and your cam, it'll be cool!
We still use the imperial system for some things mainly just speed and temperature we use metric. It’s weird but people still talk feet and inches but they’ll use kilometers, and weight is usually pounds and ounces, temperature outside is Celsius, but temperature for cooking is Fahrenheit. It’s so messed up I wish we could just go back to imperial!
Unreasonable amount of money spent on your setup, IMO - must be nice to never misplace a Stiletto tool. I felt guilty spending $30 US on a speed square/ice scraper but 400 Canadian pesos?! Wtf
It is certainly hard to justify but personally I don’t have a problem investing money I make from work back into work. Seems counter intuitive but makes life easier in the end not having to replace cheap tools all the time!
Austin Tischler I totally get reinvesting you’re money, mine goes towards power tools I guess lol. Also, if you are unfamiliar with the Starrett miter finder, get one! Every belt needs one
I would say atleast $1000 around the waist without the power or air tools. Good tools cost money but the speed square is way overpriced IMO. I would get the M1 or M4 instead of that square.
Nice setup. I love watching Larry Haun vids. I never see a speed square, cats paw/nail puller, pliers or snips in his bags. He keeps it so simple.
Larry only carried on him what he needed for that job, and when he changed jobs he changed tools. the rest was in the bucket, on the bench, or in the truck.
That’s because he does framing and with Framing you don’t need pliers or weird tools. Just a tape, pencil, hammer, square and chalk box. Knife too.
I always appreciate finding out about good quality tools and equipment. I look forward to the new videos you are planning.
Nice collection of tools, I can tell everything is very well thought out.
Totally stumbled here looking for a song. However I needed this so much! Nice pouch!!!
The date on the belt is clever. I like that.

Pro tip. Put the video on 1.5 speed. You're welcome.
You don't like Canadian speed? The exchange rate is very favorable...
LoL
Thank you 😂
Yes!
Thank you sir!

Great set up bud! Very nice tool choice and that belt is awesome!
Do these bags with the “fur” get hot while wearing them through the day? Would love some feedback! 👍🏻
You got all the tool goodies nothing but the best😁👍

Absolutely great idea I will work on that
When not doing kids shows, Mr. Rogers was a carpenter. Nice rig.

Yankee that was my biggest problem is getting used to my tape on the right.
Because most tapes read left to right and they want you to read the numbers easier, but what carpenter can’t read upside down and backwards or mark accurately with their left hand
Love that setup. Surprised you don't have a Stilletto hammer with all your titanium and Stilleto tools
I hate the hook on my dewalt framing nailer too.
Love the work you do! I wish I could pay you for some work, but I am in California! Great tool pouch and teaching for the video!
Just my 2 cents. Put your chalk line in the pouch on the right hand side that "you dont really use" then put your tape in the pouch that you had your chalk line in. That why you have 2 fastener pouches.
First time i heard someone pronounce it "Daloogie" lol
That’s actually how it’s pronounced. Look at the wrapper of a new hammer next time your at the lumber yard.

Not to be impolite but I feel like I just watched an episode of letterkenny about a tool belt
To be fair.. I couldn’t have said it better myself. 🤘🏻😂
Full marks for the Letterkenny cadence.
Thank you for this helpful information.

Hi, great description. I am looking for a Occidental tool belt (one piece) like the one you have. Before I purchased it I would love to know if you can attach the Occidental suspenders to your particular belt? Most reviews on look at the belt which has swap out bags.
Unfortunately I don’t think you can simply because the bags are attached and there would be no way to slide the loops to the back side
Austin Tischler hi thanks for getting back to me. I kinda figured that. Probably won’t bother with them as I’m not a fan of the bags sliding around.
Dan The Chippie you can buy brass screws that hold your bags in place exactly where you want. They work well and occidental sells them.
What kind of overstrike protection is that on your hammer handle or is it just a funky wrap of some kind of tape (electrical?)? I used to be able to find plastic overstrike protection for wood handled hammers but not anymore.
It is just electrical tape but I did put it on as overstrike protection
Thanks
Dude I own the same, loving it!!!!!
You should put a amazon link to all your tools and belt.
I will do that today
Please do link to everything! Would love to pick up those channel locks
Sorry I fell asleep after a few..haha

Says right on the warning label not to hang on but I'm sure we've all read that right 😂😂😂..........................😐
Do you have an imperial measuring tape?
Yes
Cool!
How about a tour of the lake once the ice goes off?
I could do something like that, there are already a couple videos of Aquadeo on RUclips already. Check them out, it’s a nice little resort village.

It’s called a tajima chalk rite it’s actually out of Japan

Hello bud, what’s the name of this tool belt? I subscribed,
Cheers.
This is an occidental leather pro carpenter belt👍
@Donwar83 I'm deaf
How did you know he used a dalluge hammer?
I believe he mentioned it in his book
500 😬.good 👍✌️
What's the brand of pounch is that
Occidental leather
I got a similar set up...good stuff man
I refuse to spend 500 on a speed square man, god speed 😉✌
It was certainly very hard to justify. But now that I have it I could never go back to a 20 dollar one it just feels like a toy!
@@AustinTischler CH Hanson makes a $60 one called the pivot square. Frankly, it blows the martinez away.

Give me your E mail and I will send it. I doubt I have all the info they would ask for.
Interesting
Those are linesmen pliers
