Many different designs for each type of project are also included. Choose whatever type of shed or storage house is right for you. Pick from fancy ones or more utilitarian designs.
One thing I learned from the old guy at EC and have incorperated into my belts is to always have your tape and marking items on opposite sides. That way you can pull out both at one, each in the ready hand and ready to mark! Every since that video I swear it has sped up my productivity to the point the Italians I work with have picked up on it and are currently doing it now without even asking me. The fluidity of it alone is not thought about but easily spotted and once someone sees how fast you measure and mark and are onto the next layout or cut.... they are envious lol
Ok so Jono and Jaime are rigged for doing framing, trim, and general carpentry. They were doing trim the previous day on one job and framing a deck the next. We do almost everything OURSELVES on our jobs from pouring footers, to tiling showers , to building custom cabinets. Basically our usual toolbelt set up is a combination of a framer and trim belt set up so that we can tackle ANY task. Hope this is helpful and fun for you guys!!
That's the way to be man. I built my own house, dig the hole, poored the foundation, framed, sheeted, all metal siding, u know the rest. I did hire a guy to hang sheetrock because I couldn't handle 12' rock by myself.
FYI, I was 25 when I done that.
I mean.. the wee little flat bars and the kreg bit kinda gave it away :)

I did the same thing with mine when I got it.
Best tool belt tip I've ever heard is to keep all of your small driver/drill bits in a Altoids tin to keep them organized. I use it every day

Or Buy a cheap yoga foam block on Amazon and cut it with a heated sharp knife to be in the shape of one of your small pouches. Then pre drill 3/16 holes neatly wherever you want your bits. Always organized and they never fall out.
@h2s I'm a new construction plumber. I agree on the pill bottle. I carry an Advil bottle to hold my cutter wheels. I'm the only guy on the crew not losing his wheels.
Just get the little dewalt bit case with snap lock and has a clip. Although I just keep mine in my little pouch of my occidentals
Nice practical setups in my honest opinion. Great video. I'm starting to dig those small units on your strong side where a bag would normally go. You carry what you need there. With a traditional tool pouch you tend to overload it because you have the extra room. Stuff you won't use all week.
And we all know that ounces equal pounds.

Love these videos! Been binge watching and learning a lot from you guys. Went through the build from start to finish of the mountain getaway "tweener". I am just in awe of those mountain views and the one in this vid here. Wow! Enough to make me want to move to west NC from the PNW; which is another gorgeous area.
I really like Jono setup I had my bags set up about like Jaimes then after falling and breaking my back because of my tape measure being right at the center of my lower spine I had to almost completely stop wearing bags just became the cut man 99% of the time.

Too tired at end of day carrying all that. 30' fat Max tape, hammer,, speed square, pencil, sharpie, utility knife, scribe, multi bit screw driver. AND a nice conveniently located table for about 30 things I like close by but don't carry. 61 y o.

Forgot chisel 3/4" and nail sets, big and little ride in the bag. Over here we call it the misery bag but you don't make any money unless you're wearing it.

I have a tool bag where I keep everything I might put in my occidental bags that day for whatever I’m doing and outfit it in the beginning of the day. Two different Tajima boxes (permanent or temp thin line) finish or framing estwing hammer, different size punches, a host of tools/wrenches/pliers and of course my trusted makita impact (although I handled the Milwaukee 12v and will probably get one soon due to weight and shape.)
Glad to see the Toughbuilt suspenders $10 at Menards. I bought it to hold up my Diamondback Denali framer normally $500 paid $300 new on eBay. I also like the Milwaukee line box $8 at Depot. Along with the Swanson always sharp pencils.

I have been using the same caulk lings for years. Mine are set up with black, flo green for old dark wood and orange. IMO they are the best on the market.
My takeaway was the idea to have multiple bit holders ready loaded. Losing & fitting fiddly bits is a pain (esp as I use Torx). Brill.

Pretty much everything I carried... I had square stops too... I usually only wore suspenders in the winter, my coveralls didn't hold up the belt if I raised my arms... Sometimes a canteen, if I was going to be in the rafters all day.

I keep a stud 4 sure magnetic stud finder in my pocket with my small drill bits and driver tips takes up very little room and brings every bit out in one go otherwise that elusive torx bit that you need is the last one you poke out!

A few squares of folded tish tickets in the bottom of the leather Chisel pocket I've found works well to stop any cutting. 🇦🇺
Was expecting to see Jaime's fingers not being there and was surprised... this was before the accident.
Jono was half a bubble off...jk....I kid 😆. Good stuff. I have a pretty similar set-up. The thing is with most nail bags we carry so many different tools we have to improvise and modify so that everything has its place.

nice video , I don't keep the pouch too heavy , all you need is a torpedo level , a measure tape and a square and knife and pencil , everything like pliers and hammers and wrenches else goes in the tool box . The tool belt is meant more for holding nails and screws than for holding tools , its more of a nail and screw holder , its not meant to hold a lot of tools

I have a pocket dedicated to those Reece's bite size peanut butter and chocolate eggs. Gets mushy in the summer but then I just drink it lol

If you roll on a rubber handle, that will help with grip. I was able to find an old bicycle inner tube and roll on. I know it’s only a 14 and 16 oz hammer, it’s amazing the difference it makes. I also have carpel tunnel and other nerve damage, my grip isn’t what it used to be.

I wrapped my Stiletto’s wood handle with cloth grip tape. Picked up at contractor’s tool store. Retail stores have it in first aid aisles too.
Loren Rickey how does the cloth grip hold up in rain and snow?
@@donmartin7728 tape has been on for over a year. I haven't exposed it to heavy rain amd no snow. Mostly clear weather only. When I bought the tape it was advertised on the package for hammers, bats and tennis rackets. I really like how it works. Check sporting goods stores for friction tape for bats, hockey and sports tape.
Loren Rickey I’ll check it out. Unfortunately my equipment is exposed to all forms of inclement weather. I spend a little extra time cleaning and caring for it all.

@@PerkinsBuilderBrothers I have lots of tool that I inherited from my Grandpa and father, Dad was a carpenter. I'm a jack of all trades and master of none, carpentry is my most favorite work. Thankful I can do it for a living and be self employed. 💪🏼
@Perkins Builder Brothers , love the channel. I also live in western NC and well I'm a kinda bargain hunter and I wear a Husky dual bag with harness. Swing a Estwing 22oz, 35' Milwaukee tape, 10 Estwing catpaw, klien dikes, Milwaukee torpedo level Milwaukee chalk line which I must say is the best chalk line I've ever used, and of course my little DeWalt bit box with all my bits and a Milwaukee speed square it has scribes up to 6" love it, also 1.25 ace hardware chissel.. then on top of that a handful of 8 inch pole barns. That's a real nail.
It’s funny how everyone has their own set up and ways they deal with things, I’ve got an impact holster on my right back, an extra hoop left back, and two large pouches on the sides with a bunch of pockets, hammer has to be lower right, tape lower front left and my phone has it’s own pocket right on my right hip, as boss mans right hand man that’s almost my busiest tool some days lol

My belt changes drastically for what I’m doing sometimes I’m set up to mend fence or repair horse stalls or work on the house I can’t believe how much belts have gone up in price

What brand of tool pouch does Jono have on his left side where her keeps his catspaw and drill bit extension? I really like the small hand tool loops inside the bigger pouch and could use those. I can never seem to find anything like a combination between an electricians & carpenters tool pouch. Where did he get that from?

Back in the 70s when my dad was a framer, I asked what he had in his tool belt....he said he had a cheap hammer, a glue stick, pack of cigs, an Old Style, and a dog turd for marking lines, said it worked better than a crayon

That may be a bit commando. Just because they now have super huge gigantic tool bages you don't have to carry every thing all the time. And a tool box is the best place to keep some of those tools. I even heard about a new thing, a tool box that has wheels and a handle. You can put more things in or on it than anyone could possably carry and take it right to where you are working.
I love how you americans take simple things seriously, here in Brazil I'm about the only person I know that uses one. Time is MONEY! Can't fool around with things like that.

Was wondering what type of setup compressor, generator, couplings do you run on your projects? It looks like you do mostly custom homes, so I'm guessing your running a generator all day, would you recommend using battery operated framing Nailers, or use the compressor type of nailers?
Depends on how many batteries you have, if you have a big crew I would heavily suggest air nail guns, that frees up your batteries for other tools, sawzalls and drills ect. However if it's just you and maybe one other guy the battery operated nail guns may be your best option,

I nailed it: at pawn shop found one of those old Klein lineman’s harness
Took a grinder to the 2 big rings up front....coolest belt ever

Holy shit if I needed more tools I would invest in those suspenders. But I just have 1 big side tool belt. But I do everything from excavation, concrete, framing, roofing. But mostly I do finish work or decks. And my 20oz EST wing looks tiny compared to their hammers lol.

You don't need the big pouches for the odd random scree that you could pill out the screw box loving the minimalistic left side just get the Hamerton holder with extra pouches for the right and your sorted

I just pulled a shoulder muscle ( deltoid) cause I have way too many tools which is supported by suspenders too. Lol I'm guessing my bags weigh like 40 lbs. My old boss used to say, " you can't find it, look in your 5th bag. I have I think all together 9 pouches. Lol At least I can say, " I got that".

Ive been following your channel for a few weeks now and I really enjoy it. I don't do too much new residential nowadays but in my early electrician day oh yeah, a lot of new residential. I can tell you guys build well just from the attention you pay to your tool pouches. I'll have to do a video on that too.

Good question… We hook it up to an airline to blow dust off of sheeting after cutting it. Dust on roof sheeting is instant death :-)
