How rare is on RUclips for a fella to get something free to test out and he actually uses it for a year before giving an opinion?
I actually remember the mail room episode when he received this belt and to me seeing the review now speaks volumes for the guys credibility
Yeah, too often you see reviews where a person got it, tested it for a few hours at best and then gives a review which often doesn't provide enough info on longevity and quality.
L F u aren’t half the man this guy is. If u are start a RUclips channel and show the world. ✌️
L F those are the boots he has found most confortable for work for him and he recommends them, there’s nothing wrong with that. I can say red wing boots are the best boots for work but somebody else can say those boots are garbage!
@L F dude, if that's what he likes that's what he likes. I'm a farmer I wear rubber boots from November through March every single day. I bet neither you or EC would like that very much
@L F He said they were the best boots for the money under the consideration that you're going to be replacing your boots at least once or twice a year if you're wearing them every day for hard labor, no matter what level of quality you buy at. Do you want to pay 50 dollars every time, or 250?
Buckaroo Tool Belt just got a HUGE endorsement here. Give whomever sent that belt to Essential Craftsman a pay raise. Genius move for sure. Absolute genius!
Boss move right there, marketing Einstein
Diamond Back probably sent him a $10 off coupon 😂
"If you are young and your back doesn't hurt yet, it will" TRUE!
Ray Zickrick Very much True!
Very true
@@theguy9290 It was quoted from the video. :(
Had three back surgeries so far, need two more.. it will hurt, take care of your back!
I call it age Tax!
Best advertising they could get here in North America was right there. Awesome. Wish I had seen this 30 years ago.
@L F Repeating yourself everywhere makes you look like a clown.
L F you sound like a female 🤣🤣
L F sounds like you overplayed for a pair of $200+ boots
@@liamberkelaar8496 ya your the non union fool who buys 100$ boots 😷😂
@L F sounds like someone got roasted for showing up to work in $200 ariats and a cheap work belt lol.
As an Australian construction worker I’ve been using Buckaroo belts and their other products for over 10 years and have never had a problem with any of it. The functionality, quality and the longevity that I have experienced with Buckaroo products is second to none. Top quality products that are well and truly superior value to anything else on the market.
I have to take issue with your statement that belts stretch over time. Seems every one I ever owned shrunk along with the pants I wore them with.
Ha ha yea it's the belt shrinking ha ha ha ha

lay off the donuts allan. hahaha just kidding i have the same problem. too much deep fried gas station food for me
Cheques and stomach are getting bigger 👌 lol
I currently work in research, and my favourite bit of your episodes, is "keep up the good work". You have no idea what i do, but when you say it feels like your talking to me. It's very rare that anybody says keep up the good work!
I should also add your work is truly excellent to watch, and keep up the excellent work !
Agreed, it's a nice little, universally supportive touch. Though we do know what you do, you just said it
You are absolutely right. I always feel better after watching his videos and it's as though he tells me to keep up the good work.
Not attacking you, but a funny thing guys at my work will say from time to time to each other,
“Hey, anybody tell you good job lately?”
“No”
“Huh....wonder why”
Implying that you’re in fact, not doing a good job frequently
Watching all of your spec house videos gave me the itch... so I started building a playhouse in my backyard for my boys. It sure feels good to build something with my hands. Thanks for all the videos!
I'm a formworker in Australia, all our boys wear these along with the buckaroo pouches and frogs etc. Every year they seem to be getting more popular. I highly recommend.
Proud to be an Aussie watching this haha. Keep up the great progress on the spec house mate
A good tip at the end of the day or on lunch if your feet are hurting is to elevate them for around 15-20 minutes about the level of your shoulders if they were inclined so that fluid that made the swell can drain and you'll feel the difference. Back pain often occurs because the lumbar area/small of the back has been held in torsion to long it's why laying in a hammock or on the floor begins hurting since its natural curve was being forced flat. Though it might look silly 4-5minutes of stretching before beginning to work or during a break can almost eliminate it during an especially long day and it's why athletes just don't start out cold before a workout/run because it helps prevent injuries. You may appear to be a prima ballerina on break but that flash of pain after sitting or getting back to work will feel like you never stopped because the muscles that were at rest need a few minutes to get circulation/loosening up so before called on again.
You are absolutely right. It's long overdue that the construction industry needs to take things like this seriously for the welfare of their workers. But when the dollar rules the time, people end up mattering less.
I also put a fresh pair of powdered socks and insoles [10 in rotation Mon-Friday] in a zip lock baggie.
At lunch I sit with my feet up and eat lunch while my feet enjoy the breeze. Coming back from break with fresh dry feet is like nothing else. My ex saw me prepping 20 pair of socks, she called me a psycho, but she wasn't paying any bills. All that weight was on my shoulders, which transferred directly to my feet.
Man, I hear the older guys talking and I listen. Great review.
I’m a NZ Carpenter working in the Outback Central Qld Australia, I have used every tool belt there is, the buckaroo tool belt system has been a godsend. It’s been on my hips for 5+ years, the most comfortable stout tradesman’s belt there is. Their pouches are just as awesome. 👌🏽 good to see you having the same thoughts brother.
2observant no problem at all. It’s an awesome feeling when you find a product that meets your needs. I use the hammer & chisel frog with 3 large pocket nailbag. Not to heavy and very customisable with some of my old leather pouches.
Yeah I've worn buckaroo belts for about 6 years now, they're awesome. Most chippies/scaffolders/steelfixers I know wear these belts daily.
Buildpro is also another brand that do a similar one for cheaper
i like the tone of your voice, you should do audio book readings. I could listen to you talk about almost anything and stay interested because of it.
Same. I literally don't care what the subject is.
Scott lays it out in the most honest and believable way. While sitting on a bucket he says “They sent it to me. Think about it as you will.” In addition to teaching countless people about many skills, I believe that he will influence them to be honest and ethical. This man is creating a legacy to leave for mankind.
Wow, a company and their product could not get a more thoughtful, credible, and thorough evaluation and endorsement. A very smart move to send the belt to the Essential Craftsman!
And by the way, yes my back and hips hurt constantly from spinal injuries, so the belt with suspenders appeals to me.
I recently bought a buckaroo setup with the signature tradesman belt, it is by far the best belt I have ever worn. Sure it wasn't cheap but it was worth every dam penny. UK carpenter
ive used one of these for about 7 years or so and would never go without
I first started watching the series because I thought it was an Australian builder because of the tool belt as I too own one and most of the guys I work with. Great review.
Every night I check emails and then RUclips to see if you have posted anything, I tell all my guys at work to watch your channel as they will learn something.
From Australia as always keep up the good work.
Wow I could care less that you got it for free. This was one of the best most honest reviews I’ve ever seen.
Buy one you won't be disappointed.
I can't imagine anyone not buying anything you recommend. I watch a lot of videos on a lot of various topics and I rarely comment. But I felt the need to tell you tonight that, from everything I have seen, you are the definition of integrity. Keep up the great work and God bless.
Shout out to your son for the good footage and hard work to put these videos together! Thank you
Out of all the reviews I have walked this is by far the best, so honest. Thank you.
I knew this review was coming!! Iv had this belt for over a over a year now I’m only 26 and was starting to get back problems but since using this belt back problems are gone! I do use the buckaroo suspenders too first time using them hated at start but wouldn’t turn back now. Buckaroo have wide range of pouches and fogs really good stuff highly recommend my whole crew and other crews I know now run them too
Your honesty and work are inspiring. You keep up the good work as well. Thanks for this channel from an middle aged Carpenter still in love with his craft. Cheers from Vancouver Island.
I went to a 3 1/2" wide belt 16-17 years ago and never looked back . It wasn't a buckaroo, but all nylon. It doesn't hurt at all. When I switch to my drywall tools, it has a 2" belt and I know the difference. I'm sure that only the weight difference (not much weight to a knife, a circle cutter, a measuring tape, and a surform pocket plane on one side, an ax on the back, and a handful of nails and a pocket fulll of screws on the other side) saves me from a sore back. I have since switched out my belt for my electrical tools and pouches to the same 3 1/2" nylon belt as well as for my logging pouches and tools. I don't use a tool belt when I am plumbing, welding, or doing mechanical work.
Scott, I am continually amazed at how parallel our lives have gone and I have often questioned my course as I walked it. You were in a world that was 20 years ahead of techniques than in Nova Scotia at the same time. I've always been a little ahead of the curve, using Larry Haun's methods of production framing when all around me everyone was stick framing and working HARD! I kept up just by being more efficient. I was looked at kind of strange, but now I see that I was actually okay. Thanks for all you do and teach. I've learned some from you, mostly blacksmithing stuff because I have only just begun that and it is another skill/trade in an already very full life of hobbies. Keep up the good work.
Good straight forward review from the actual use of the piece of equipamnt.
At the end he was trying to give them a shoutout but was so neutral he didn’t know. So genuine and accurate. Love this channel
I ha e had the buckaroo belt for over a year now and love it.
Will continue to use it for the rest of my working days.
I bought one as soon as this video was done. Been wearing it now for a few months and will never look back. Super comfortable, I don’t feel the weight of the bags like I did with my leather belt. Thank you EC!
Started framing on The Outerbanks on the off seasons a few years ago after 30 years in the restaurant industry I’m pushing 50 now. Essential Craftsman has been the best channel I could think of for information. On tools, technique and most importantly relaying the right attitude and approach to being a competent and happy hand on the job site. Thank you so much for all of your videos! God bless you!!
Can confirm their bags are amazing, I've had mine for about 2 years now
I have had a similar belt for the 5-6 years. Don't remember the brand but I've had the same reaction as you. I've added some stout suspenders lately that hold my phone (because you know everybody has to call you while your working) and they have helped this 72 yr old back. Love your videos!
Had my buckaroo for 7 years the guy I did my apprenticeship with had his from when they first started out will always use their belts
Thanks so much for all your reviews and sharing. Got my Buckaroo back support belt recently and it will be the last one i ever use!....LOVE IT! Researching their bags/pouches....great stuff
This video was exactly like a Sunday coffee talk with my dad.
All the tradies thank you for being genuine, this guys the man.
Aussie carpenters appreciate you too!! Also they have the best pouches and can make anything you want custom.
It's nice to see experienced craftsman try new and improved rigs. They are improved for safety and comfort glad you decided to try it and not be stubborn in your ways.
I got the buckaroo back support belt as a direct cause of this video I've fractured my back twice and also have a few other issues with it but can't stand the feeling of suspenders this belt has been a revelation thanks again for the awesome content!
Great seeing you review some Aussie stuff mate! The buckaroo gear is everywhere here. It's expensive but you get what you pay for with it!
Your the best!! I watch as many of your shows as I can. I learn as much as I can from your shows as well. Thanks for all the hard work and information.
these videos are just bloody brilliant. thanks to all who are responsible for these productions
Couldn't agree more mate! Just another tradesmen here from New Zealand. Been using this belt for years and will never change!! Also they do make Amazing bags to go with.
Thank for the great review
I've had the same issue as yourself.
Love my quality Aussie things
Will definitely look at buying one of there belts
I live in Eldorado Australia. Buckaroo is made just 45km from here. I had a few buckaroo items but went and bought a new nail belt after the initial EC Buckaroo video.
Great video
Thank you for the review I am a carpenter in New York City local 157 approaching 30 years on the tools and humping heavy material all day long and I know that lower back pain you’re speaking about and that belt looks so comfortable.I just ordered one for myself.I really enjoy your videos and I am inspired by your work and I’m never too good or told old to learn. If I need to figure things out that I never did before I usually check out your videos especially on concrete form work.Thank you for sharing your talent.
So many wise advices I found in your videos .
Well your review was well worth the belt they sent you. I definitely want one, since the rivets on my kingchrome belt almost make me bleed. But my size is already out of stock. I'll sure get one soon, gotta love anything that makes earning a buck less unpleasant and less damaging in the long run.
I sure am jealous of anyone that has the pleasure of working with Scott. The man is the advisor/instructor/guide many of us never had and I for one genuinely appreciate him.
I don’t know what this material actually is. Such honesty and your such a humble person.
I really enjoy these videos.
Thanks for the explanation of the new belt
Glad I found your page I seen this and gave my old tool belt to my son

@@xenonram Nope. This isn't the bestiality forum.
@@xenonram - that isn't nature. That is just wrong.
Great belt I got one early this year as an old chippie now in Australia I completely agree with your assessment of the buckroo belt system . Thanks for the video ✌️🇭🇲
I have a very similar set up- occidental bags and 4” diamond back belt. The buckle is what makes it so good
I bought a buckaroo belt in January and abbsutly love it i do concrete for a living
Looks like a great belt! I have my tool belt 17 years now and its time for a new one.
They are on Amazon. Two styles. Thanks for the review. Insightful as always.
ordered one. thank you good man
Thank you for making videos ! I learn a lot from you
The criterion I use when a supplier “gifts” me a product to try and review is ‘If it disappeared tomorrow would I spend my own money to replace it that afternoon?’ To me that makes me more objective about the product.
Why are suppliers giving you products to review, and where are you posting these reviews?
Andrew Delashaw I’m a contractor and through my suppliers I am given products periodically to give feedback to the manufacturer for improvement or the supplier to see if it’s a product that they will be making available.
Andrew Delashaw its not uncommon at all in industry for suppliers to just give stuff to customers as an enticement to a potential sale either. They might call it a demo or review item. You may be allowed to keep it or have to return it depending on many factors.
I have been offered stuff many times (some I asked for, some was just offered... some I accepted and some not) depends on if you are ok with the strings.
Just ordered one! Thanks for the review
Thanks for the information mate .
Best review I’ve come across. Good on ya mate. 🇦🇺
Guday from DownUnder,
Yes they make pouches, lots of pouches and tool holsters.
It’s great kit .
Keep up the good work , big fan of your channel 👍👍
I live and work in Australia and I use the buckaroo belt along with the suspenders and puches. I can tell my back is going to thank me for it and the belt really feels like it's going to last me years and years. Highly rate them and it's worth the extra cash.
Timely video! I've been wanting to get a new belt for my Occidental bags for a while now, as the hole I use on it is getting a bit stretched out; I think I'll be trying a Buckaroo belt.
12years in the trade here in Australia, and i still have my first buckaroo toolbelt! though i dont quite fit in it anymore, i seem to have grown sideways a little bit since i was 16. anyone looking for these from the states can find them on Ebay though i dont know what postage will be like.
What a testimony for a product. Belts and bags have hurt my back and hips for years and years hearing this is enough to get me to try it out and give you my feedback.
I am editing to say I ordered the belt bags hammer holder and a few other items. I am retired and actually fighting a terminal disease that being said I am doubling the size of my house completely changing the floor plan adding 1 1/2 bathrooms and several other changes including a new kitchen while expanding my bedroom by 4' each direction and his/her closets as the disease progresses if I survive longer than most then a wheelchair and many more medical devices will increase dramatically so I want to be prepared for the worse and I want our home to be in excellent condition and ready to another 25-30 years for the other half especially being she has a long lifespan in her background both her parents well her father passed a couple of years ago at 87 and her mother is 87 now and thankfully doing well for her age plus her grandparents lived to be in their very late 80's as well one of then was into their early 90's just don't remember which one right now my memory isn't what it used to be just four years ago.
Great honest review
That looks like an awesome rig.
Great review!
Thanks for the video.
Now that's a tool review!! Kudos to you!!
I use the exact same set up Ive had occidental bags for years on the classic leather belt I came across the búcaroo belt I instantly I liked it now it’s fully broken in & I wear it daily excellent set up can’t go wrong
Good review. Done like an appreciative gentleman.
work for a commercial gc out of salem. love my back saver. that with oxy lights makes a perfect pair for the rain season
I have a Kuny with suspenders. Yeah, it's all I can afford. But the design, like this Buckaroo, is so ergonomic. The wide belt is great and provides so much support. Way better than a simple belt and bags that I had before. I'm getting older too, so, every bit helps. Nice review. Thoughtful.
You can't go to a site here in Aus without seeing a buckaroo belt, very popular and for great reason.
I bought a new belt for my tool bags last fall. My toolbags are just cheap nylon ones and the new belt is from Amazon, nothing fancy, but it has the inner padding and outer belt like yours, and I agree that I don't know why I didn't get one long ago. My only excuse is that I only use mine a couple times a year, so it wasn't high on my radar. I'm glad you're in less discomfort; it makes the day go easier.
Very good explanation
This gentleman and AVE are the best.
Keep up the good work!
I've always wondered which was/is truly the best way to go, the suspenders or just the belt. Like you, prefer the wide belt for the reason of, as you stated, back support. Great review, cheers :)
Just picked this belt up along with some buckaroo nail bags. Had the nylon version of the occidental bags EC uses for about just over a year but have been torn up slipping between rebar (highrise formwork). Gonna givr this a test run and make my own verdict.
great review
Bookmarked, this is a belt i will defenetly get !
Comfort equates to a day that flew right by without nagging pain.
I really do feel as though young fellas (I'm pretty young myself) can take Mr. Wadsworth as gospel. This is a man who has an abundance of years of wisdom and an excellent manner and bearing to present that hard earned wisdom. Thank you Scott for all your videos.
I was told by my boss and workmates to get a Buckaroo belt and pouches when I started in the industry in 2012.
I still take the same belt to work with me now.
I've had to re-rivet my hammer frog, and one of the pouches is just starting to show some wear - all after 8 years of use/abuse.
Love this review. Folks, I love this product. I'm sure if you want one, there is probably a way you can get one...
awesome review. Thank you
The other thing I would like to say is I see all these fantastic tools that are readily available in the USA but hard to come by here. Like the Skilsaw just arrived inline motor rather than out to the side like our base model circular saws are. Not going back to them. Skilsaw all day. Also Diablo blades only made it onto the shelves a year ago. Can't beat them.
Buckaroos current shop is only a few minutes down the road from me in Wollongong, NSW.
Just bought one for my first tool belt having started a new trade as a draftsman for a scaffolding company.
The thing is fantastic!
Well that is a review I have faith in. I like the idea of that belt, it's like a tuned up high climbing belt. I have used good, simple leather nail bags for a long time. I think the once well known company that made mine has been eaten up and dosn't exist any more. I also use suspenders on my leather belt for two reasons. They take a lot of the weight off my pelvis. A full load of nails frameing all day pinched a nerve in my leg and the clips keep my nail nail bags in place but allow me to move them a bit as needed. I cleaned and oiled them twice a year. In the fall before the winter rains and in the spring before the dry. I also emptied them and hosed them out and let them dry over the weekend as needed. They will last almost forever. Only problem I have with them is they are old enough that they don't have a place for the speed square. If I needed to replace them I would be looking at Occidental Leather bags.
... doesn't hurt yet, "eh pah, lika hell. Eeza smart guy. Casa aqui por favor? so says my Portuguese FiL, 88, a carpenter too and enjoying his second RUclips video ever. He wants to watch more of your home project.
Thank you for brightening his day.
I've been wearing Occidental leathers since 2005. Same set, when I got a new set of bags almost every year before them.
I've said I won't be doing this job next year for the last 10 years. I'm ordering a set of these based on your amazing review, just in case I'm still swinging a hammer in 2040.
Good timing on finding this. My belt and bags are about gone.
I’m going to buy one because of this vid
Love the name on this one.
Good journey, EC!
