One mod for Skyrim that i love to use is "Skyrim Immersive Creatures" by Lifestorock. It just simply adds better AI and more animals into the game. Kind of fun to suddenly run into a stone golem when mining ore.
I love how they're buying the seeds instead of just harvesting them. But then again the trees fully mature within a couple of hours so I guess realism is off the table.
This is how I used to get started. There's another one you can do as well. Build your basic office stuff and spend most of your money on a huge box of a building. Put in one toilet and all the bunk beds you can afford. Turn on your prisoner intake after a few days so you have a large backlog of min sec. Once you've taken in as many as you can you sell your prison because on paper it is a perfect prison with cap for 200+ inmates. In reality it's a powder keg about to explode but that's not your problem anymore :P Start a new prison with 500k in the bank and plant trees :D
I've just spent the afternoon doing this for shits and giggles. On day 45, and exporting 181,000 wood per day, with a prison value of 1.3 million. It's like watching an ant farm. Edit: The best way to get trucks to come pick up the logs is to put your export zone beneath the delivery and garbage zones, then extend that export zone all the way to the bottom of the map. That way you've got trucks delivering seeds, then they go all the way to the end of the export zone to be loaded up, all the while you've got empty trucks queuing up to be loaded as well. Once you get a pipeline of workers taking the logs to the export zone, the trucks will line up almost non-stop. Just from goofing around with this for a few days, it seems like expanding a lot and having a huge map full of forresty areas in various stages of growth leads to diminishing returns in terms of profit. A smaller map works almost as well as a huge one, making about the same money per day.
I've found the limit at a certain point is the time it takes to walk all the way from the outskirts to the road. Then once you have 100+ workers the limit is how fast the trucks drive. A few years back when I was playing, I was building a massive 150 inmate expansion to my prison in a single go. The trucks were backed up like gridlock unloading and loading, but they were still slower than my tree farm harvest even with a road packed with trucks.
With prisoners around (I mostly only use this strategy small-scale to build my prison without having to watch my money in early game) the best way to do it is to put exports between delivery and garbage to make sure that exports will always be taken before garbage. Without prisoners, you can just replace garbage with exports and then extend exports from all the way down at the bottom to delivery. if you then make a small delivery zone up at the very top, the export zone will be huge.
>be spiff >making profit out of a tree farm because they're better than prisoners >be really successfull >one day wake up and start playing >hear someone speaking >ignore it >ffw 1 week >they killed all the workers >it was the thing I heard >now I understand > *the trees were speaking vietnamese*

@@TheJackDam oh man, yeah. It's one of my favorites 😂😂 Robbaz does some VR stuff along with some of the classics. I recommend his Fallout series, starting with the Base Building. Absolutely fantastic stuff 😂
This is what I have been thinking watching this. Reminds me of back when the Masterwork mod pack had ways of growing trees, so I'd just start growing massive fields of Steel Oaks, smelt into steel bars, craft steel goods, decorate porcelain goods with steel, decorate with Steel Oak wood, everything to generate sellable goods from these fantastic trees. The Elves never knew those porcelain crafts were covered in steel melted from trees (though they did harass me for my tree slaughter on the map prior to finding out about Steel Oak farming).
Which, if you think about it, makes absolutely perfect sense. What we have discovered here is that a business is more profitable than incarcerating criminals. And, yeah, that is what you would expect.
In reality, US prisons are businesses, and they are very profitable. They are run like hotels, by the private sector. Except, to keep the rooms full, they buy lobbyists instead of advertising. All the money wasted on prisons, it's one of the more unfortunate products of capitalism. @@celebrim1
Capitalism requires a product, and if it does not have one, it is only rent-seeking behavior leveraging the political power of authorities and public funds which a free market would limit or eschew. I wonder, do you think that prisons only exist in free countries?
Prisons do have a product. The constitution is clear that prisoners can be used as slaves, ergo a prison can leverage its prisoners as dirt cheap laborers.
@Nebuli2: Sure, they can. But, the product would be then what the prisoners produce, not the prison itself. And, the situation you describe where prisoners are kept to perform "hard labor" is now a rare one and is not associated with private prisons or the modern prison system generally. It is in fact more associated with the old state prison systems were wardens were given virtually unlimited authority over the prisoners charged to them. The charge that can be legitimately made against the modern prison system is not that they have lots of prisoners on chain gangs and the like, but rather that they have too many prisoners serving long sentences for non-violent drug possession crimes. And that, again, is not something the libertarian free market would encourage, and which, the current wave of drug legalization is likely to resolve. Now, if you don't support drug decriminalization, then you can blame that on "capitalism" since the drug is a product. But prisons themselves are part of the government centric command economy, since they thrive on regulation and receive their funds through taxation.
There must be a game where you are supposed to run a ferry or shipping company yet can succeed despite owning zero ships. If it exists, please play that.
You could play Skyrim as a wandering merchant selling nothing but tea and skooma. because the British did opium right so historically accurate?!? WHO CARES!!!
all those parts where it made fun of what Spiff says… it's either that or the stock images, both are hilarious, I will never regret subscribing o' great tea drinker
Right as Spiff was saying "Trees, they're just basically..." I got the ad for Ecosia that starts off with "Trees are natures solution to climate change". I feel like that was a nice bit of irony right there.
I recommend Helgen reborn it adds: the best house in any mod ever, a unique and interesting quest chain, a great story, an oblivion style arena, multiple NPCs to defend your home and a cool reason to hunt late game enemies. If I am allowed a second I would add 'interesting NPCs' it adds so many great characters with funny and deep dialogue.
Reminds me of other games where there was smarter ways: Ports of Call -> Better to speculate in ships: buy when they are cheap and sell when prices are high! Sid Meier's Railroad Tycoon -> Take over another company take all their money, release them, take them over again, drain the money they did loan while released, repeat over! Rimworld -> Shoot a muffalo of a caravan so it drops what it is carrying, and then you are free to pick it up!
Never heard of this game nor your channel. I have no idea why I decided to click, but I'm glad I did. This is a hilarious exploit even if it's in some random game I don't give a shit about. Your commentary throughout was also supremely entertaining. So, yeah, you might have made a fan if the quality of your other videos holds up to this one. Also, my name is Dave and I refuse to drink your tea. I'll go grab meself another Mountain Dew, though. Since you were kind enough to give me the opportunity to do so.

The moment he jumped the shark from grand strategy lore vids to becoming the boogyman of game developers everywhere.
Did you just accidentally dwarf fortress?
This is what I have been thinking watching this. Reminds me of back when the Masterwork mod pack had ways of growing trees, so I'd just start growing massive fields of Steel Oaks, smelt into steel bars, craft steel goods, decorate porcelain goods with steel, decorate with Steel Oak wood, everything to generate sellable goods from these fantastic trees. The Elves never knew those porcelain crafts were covered in steel melted from trees (though they did harass me for my tree slaughter on the map prior to finding out about Steel Oak farming).
@@GalynddraBlacktree Well, Masterwork was updated earlier this year. The original creator is back.
This is similar to Gnomoria as well. It is an economy based game with mining, trading, defending against creatures and goblin hordes. It is quite fun!
@@flamingtp4947 A masterwork for DF. I don't have the hearth to play it again right now, but eventually I'd like to get back to it.
The most profitable prison in the country. Does not have a single prisoner in it.
But prisons themselves are part of the government centric command economy, since they thrive on regulation and receive their funds through taxation.
and they say money doesn't grow on trees...
Because trees themself are money
Trees don't grow on trees

There must be a game where you are supposed to run a ferry or shipping company yet can succeed despite owning zero ships. If it exists, please play that.

I dare say nothing could go wrong with giving a Spiffing Brit modded debug tools.
I need that, thank you.

Reminds me of other games where there was smarter ways:
Ports of Call -> Better to speculate in ships: buy when they are cheap and sell when prices are high!
Sid Meier's Railroad Tycoon -> Take over another company take all their money, release them, take them over again, drain the money they did loan while released, repeat over!
Rimworld -> Shoot a muffalo of a caravan so it drops what it is carrying, and then you are free to pick it up!
Harvest Moon: Be a miner and never run out of money.
try doing that in rimworld and the traders will try and murder you
