  • Here I take a look at the inner rear quarter panel on the hz Holden. After taking out the trash, I get stuck into forming up a replica replacement. As for grinding back the welds, you probably don’t need to go as far as I did as all this is well hidden and as for a reference if someone really wanted to see ya joins, they could be left alone (sealed and a coat of paint the new section will give this ute another 10 years .

You came up with some real innovative ways to get all those complex shapes in that panel nicely done.

Not bad mate can I give you one tip when your making things like this give yourself extra metal and before you put in the beads and stuff pre stretch your metal as when putting the shape in then you have metal there that will take instead of the panel shrinking from each side.

I watched it twice to get the details. Great Job. Question? What is the copper coating you put on after/before you weld the new pieces on. 🙂 Rob

ha cheers rob , the copper weld through primer you can source from any paint supplier..bit pricey. but amazing stuff .. as it carries copper flake its best to seal it all after aswell paint of choice . just an expensive primer you can weld straight through mate
