I discovered this long forgotten Fender Mustang game controller that has no strings but keys on it's neck. Using it in combination with MIDI foot contollers by Beat Bars (who powered this video) I was able to try out some robotic "strumming" techniques similar to those of Frank Piesik's ElektroCaster guitar workstation. I have so much to show you Have fun!

The intro track is killer
You need to get with the modern age, buy a minidisc player and listen to that audio heaven. :D
It's so cool to see how guitars constantly evolve and yet their awesomeness remains unchanged. Love these out of the box videos! Definitely sticking around for more.
This reminds me of some of the stuff that Sweet Trip does, although that’s most likely in the production. Super cool!
Thank you, Owen. I also thought of Sweet Trip while making this video. Really like their creative productions.
Love seeing guitars being enjoyed worldwide! ❤️
Always love seeing new methods of playing guitar. Especially as someone who sucks at playing guitar, haha! Have you ever tried out those Misa guitars like the tri-bass or kitara?
Yeah, I played the Kitara in 2013 and experimented a lot with it. Its touchscreen was very unsexy though. It was hard to get a good playing feeling out of these things. And having another sceen next to the computer made me crazy. 😄
@@berlinshoegazer that's good to hear that opinion. Good thing I didn't spend money on it, haha!
@@this_connor_guy Me neither. I had a band mate who loved to try out such 'unusual' gear a lot.
Brilliant Idea to use an Acoustic PlugIn, it sounds like Sweet Trip or Mid-Air Thief, glitchy and folky
Absolutely. I also thought of Sweet Trip.
Damn! This is so friggin’ cool! Thanks for constantly inspiring ❤️
It's one of my biggest pleasures. 🙏
I was actually thinking of selling the mustang controller but your video has inspired me to try it again
🙏 Thank you, Jason. I know - it is not the greatest piece of gear but it has it's charm and is worth lots of fun experiments.
that guitar is insanely awesome, hope they don’t sky rocket in price like guitar hero guitars recently
Gulp!! What has caused Guitar Hero axes to be more desirable?!
@@BeesWaxMinder nostalgia
@@gloryxkid really?!
…I hear that ain’t what it used to be!
(I want to apologise to everyone and all future generations who may happen across my stolen quip but I apologise for it & stand by it🤪)
Glad to see you posting videos! Guess what? I'm buying a Supernatural reverb because of that Reverb shootout video of yours!
That is amazing. It's been one of my first reverb pedals and I still love it's shimmering sound. It got very rare.
great video man
This is amazing. Guess I gotta go find me a Wii Fender Mustang🤑🤑
Casio dg 20 is what you need to get. it has the drums built in.i will make a video and send it to you how I use it.
I know. 😭I wanted to get one but the are way too expansive for that purpose. In Japan they start with very high selling prices and most people on Ebay go with these prices. I like the retro look of it a lot but I guess building an own model would be more fun and less expansive. But a little time consuming - that's for sure.
@@berlinshoegazer before tame impala made the video of him using one they were under 200.the first one I bought I paid 89$ from Japan 4 years ago.the problem is if one person sells one for 400 or above suddenly that sets the price point.that’s with all gear now these days
@@jasonmcgary This is so true. I have seen this a lot. That's just capitalisim. :/ And less people get the chance to use that gear .. just like it's supposed to be.
There’s actually a program that can turn your real guitar into a midi controller. So you don’t even need to use the Fender game controller. Could be interesting.
Do you know the name?
@@berlinshoegazer MiGiC
@@scanlinespectre Thank you. I just checked it out. It's great for that low price. But unfortunately it's only monophonic. So no chords.. :/
Olala. this is very nice
What was the song at the beginning I love it and it goes so hard and vibey
I still work on that song. It's just been a demo in that video. Nice you like it. :)
I need... I need all that... now 😱😱😱😱😱
richtig nicuu~
Haha. Danke Ihnen, Monsieur Zettier.
Lmao I saw an ad for a used on of there and assumed it was junk
First I thought the same and then ... this happend.
@@berlinshoegazer yeah this is really interesting and now I’m looking at the prices of these things. I think it’s cool that it’s o much cheaper than other guitar shaped midi controllers.
With my mustang controller I could only get it to play on one string
Oh really? I think it must be damaged then.
@@berlinshoegazer why u got yours to do poly right from the start?
@@berlinshoegazer no need to set up midi channels?
@@jasonmcgary Did you use Ableton Live? In my DAW the MIDI channel inputs are triggered all at the same time. Whatever goes in will be recognised.
Are your walls really pink??
Nobody asked me that before. Yes! I love that color.
