This course is outstanding. 100% worth it Any comments saying it is too expensive are ridiculous when you examine the amount of quality and content. Clear, concise and not overwhelming. Amazing teaching. As suggested, start with , if you are just starting out.
Great thumbnail which really caught my eye because I have recently seen these button pads in other videos and wondered what they did. Love learning about your production workflow in this one. Thanks for sharing.
Rachel's accent is like adding cream to a 10/10 cake. I was going to watch the video anyway, because she's a wizard in Ableton, but the accent makes the video 11/10. edit. One thing I can put a finger on is the camera angle. When Rachel talks to Mary, she's looking away from the camera. If the camera had been on top of the monitor, I think it would've been a better view.
This video is fantastic Mary, the rapport between you and Rachel is literally perfect. And I learned so much! I'm definitely investing in this course, and I can't wait! Also obsessed with Ride With You ☺️
Mary Spender........"All I want for Christmas is 400,000 subs." Looks like you are going to make it. You go girl! You and your content are totally awesome!
OK, I saw this video yesterday. Bought me a little studio this Spring, and been using Ableton 10 Lite since then. Been doing maybe 20 recordings as some kind of learning (trial and error) process, and been noticing some limitations with the free version. I think its time to step up! Lucky for me I discovered your course, and I think your way of learning/teaching is brilliant! So today upgraded to Ableton 10 Suite and enrolled your course! Still at the 1st chapter, but learned things already. The idea to use the Session view in the composing-process and test different ideas is very interesting! And now I am aware of some, useful buttons I didn't know about! Thank you very much 🎵🙌😃
Love it, need to finish my home studio in the age of COVID & great tips like this are key to getting the most out your talents. Keep up the great content!
This is such a great colab - both the track and the course. Fun track breakdown video, you two have the best chemistry so always a joy to watch. And, of course - great song!
Trust is a super interesting topic, my best friend and I are so productive because we trust each other. It’s even important in organisations, Every communication is easier and better with trust.
Thanks for sharing, Mary. Your journey here and some other artists have inspired me to mix guitar forward music with electronic elements and techniques. It's always great to see the creativity brought on by stepping out of one's comfort zone!
Very cool indeed. I'm just starting to get back into making music, i previously used Cakewalk Sonar but it doesn't play well with some control surfaces so i'm checking out Ableton Live as an alternative. Thanks for giving us this insight Mary, liked and subbed :)
I'll stick to Studio One but the video had a lovely vibe and it's precious to see women performing and producing music together. I would have enjoyed to hear the producer more or this particular track. Great mood! : )
The song is really sick. Thank you! I would have left more space around the solo to cut through a bit more, then fade it back to the vocal as you've done. Brilliant!
Hi, just came across your awesome channel, just wondering if u have any videos discussing what presets are, how to download and use sample packs and getting started on ableton
I'm glad you got your track produced, but I couldn't find the content relevant to the title, as a guitarist and songwriter looking for good workflow in ableton.
It's unusually tasteful, most players ham it up when tapping and sound like a wannabe Eddie. Her melodic line with tapping is almost more keyboards-like with the evenness and control.
A mediocre player at best, I'm not a performer, don't record, and don't have or use any of the necessary software. That said, it's fascinating to watch the collaboration, even if I don't understand the details of what's going on.
honestly if you tried it, you'd probably get something out of it! You can try out ideas, play around over something else you've recorded and see what cool moments happen, and kind of sculpt something interesting - it doesn't have to sound pro, lo-fi is cool too. Plus it's a great way to practice playing in general, trying to nail a part
wow, really nice , I was an ableton user for 2-3 years and then switched to cubase , I really want you to try cubase as it really hepls in workflow and shortcut keys are the best part!!
Hey Mary! How do we ask questions within the course on Ableton at Mary Spender U? Having some issues with clip length that aren't explained in the course video
Hi Mary and Rachel! I love how you guys finished this song. 🤘🙏 I just started with Ableton Live, literally four days ago, and I found this video tremendously useful on so many levels. Most specifically, the emphasis on the dynamic of the artist/producer relationship was very enlightening, and,I found, rather useful for the artist who's beginning to do both. Thank you guys so much for doing this! 🙏🙏🙏🤘 Also, Rachel, just subscribed. 👍 You guys are amazing!
I´m really interested in the course. I appreciate the option of monthly installments. The price of the course is reasonable too. I read that you need Ableton Live 10 Suite and I only have Live 9 suite. Will this be a problem when taking the course?
I got the Ableton Live when I purchased a Focussrie (if I'm not wrong). I was never able to set it up and record, maybe I need some more hours for leraning
It is REALLY mind-warping at first, I feel you, but I’ve personally been finding it actually MORE “no-nonsense” than traditional DAWs lately, and the workflow really encouraging for me to, well, PLAY! 🤷🏼♂️😄
thanks for this, learning ableton at the moment and very refreshing to get a songwriters perspective along with an electronic producer. Will be getting the course!
As a Khalid fan I would love to see you cover OTW (On the Way) by him, I think you would do an amazing job with that song 😊 sorry that was a little unrelated to this video which was super insightful by the way 🙂 loving the content Mary keep up the great work !
Ableton live is a piece of hardware or a fancy joystick that has no stand alone feature itself but in all the video no one seems to touch any of its buttons at all to make a single setting. So the question of the day is about what purpose is made this equipment for?
I`m old school. I want to hear dynamics and contrast. A melody that is in your face with a beat that could carry the whole town. Everything now is mixed so tight you cantmake out individual instruments anymore. not this per se, in general right?
@@mmaxxmcclure397 I mean you don't have to like everything, but that's a very narrow definition of music and the talent (and work) involved in creating it. You're not hearing instruments because you're not actually listening to any of it - and even if you don't like current pop, there's plenty of other music out there? C'mon
n00b question, what's the deal with ableton? How does it differ from other DAWs? I've used a few over the years and they all do the same thing, don't they?
In all honesty I liked the video but I felt the title was not a good fit. From the title I thought you would talk more specifically about recording and processing guitar with Ableton. It was interesting hearing about the work flow and creative process between you two since you have different musical backgrounds, but I was expecting something else.
Woooooow, please make more videos like this, producing music!!! I love watching talented women working together, is abolutely inspiring.
That Welsh accent is on the next level.
I would love to see more collaboration videos like this. Their styles really complement each other.
LOL this is funny we are so serious haha!!!!!!
He I didn't learn anything. Can you give us a list of the Vst plugins, or effects you are using on the vocals only ?

Mary has the voice of an artificial intelligence onboard a supercomputer from a sci-fi miniseries.

How precise the production goes!
Thanks mary! Very helpful!
Thanks for this! I’ve been using Ableton for about 7 years now - love it!
It’s great seeing it out and about -
I love the dynamic between you two
Hey Mary I really enjoyed watching you ladies working together on your song it's an very cool way to get a song put together 👍

A great smooth collaboration 101.
Super cool. I'm thinking about buying one. For my studio. Thank you for sharing this with us. Happy Wednesday.
Forgot to mention that the end result "Ride With You" is an amazing song /music production 🙌🔥💕

Continues to be the collab I didn’t even know I wanted, but SO brilliant, ladies! ❤️👏🏻👏🏻
Also, you guys’ vocal blend is like caramel and chocolate ☺️ So, so good!
Please more!
I listened on Spotify. Really enjoyed it. And yes the guitar solo is something to be proud of.
When RUclips actually notifies you...
What a great video. A tutorial on how to effectively manage egos and talent!! Thank you for your artistry!!

Honestly Mary could make a lecture on a statistical analysis of the early roman gravel trade sound fascinating.
Such a great look inside your process-great collab!
Your so good mary! im a big fan of ur music and your a big inspiration for my music. Hope your well :)
love the song !!!

can you please do some courses on truefire??
I love an enjoyable lesson and a waving lucky cat!
LOL this is a GREAT Thumbnail!!

Hey Mary! I love the sound of Ableton on Ride With You! I love that you used tapping on the solo
Where can I find the able to course? There is no link..?
Mary channeling her inner EVH for the solo!
It's unusually tasteful, most players ham it up when tapping and sound like a wannabe Eddie.
Her melodic line with tapping is almost more keyboards-like with the evenness and control.

Great job Mary! And awesome work on taking the song to the next step it needed!

Awesome to see you two working together... and seeing the best two smiles on YT today!
Oh, great! Gotta watch it NOW! (i am using cubase and am very curious for the differences!)
Woooww
Just bought Ableton - really enjoy this channel and also the way you ladies explain things! Merry Christmas also!

I tried Ableton a couple of times but coming from "classic" DAWs I never "got it". Rachel seems to really know her stuff, great video!
It is REALLY mind-warping at first, I feel you, but I’ve personally been finding it actually MORE “no-nonsense” than traditional DAWs lately, and the workflow really encouraging for me to, well, PLAY! 🤷🏼♂️😄
is there a link to RKC's mix?

This might actually be the first song where she got very... *technical*
Especially with the solo and the tapping

You have a beautiful voice Mary and your face like a red rose
n00b question, what's the deal with ableton? How does it differ from other DAWs? I've used a few over the years and they all do the same thing, don't they?
They do, it’s mostly personal preference but some DAWs are more convenient for certain genres of music.
hey Mary...show me that riff
Mary, I love x3 your videos, music...well, i looooove!
I considering myself a divulgator of you art here in Brasil =)
Great video. But that bloody cat!!!!
Who is the producer?
If Rachel ever complains about a sudden urge to create hundreds of tracks all at 85bpm... I know a lucky cat who’s into subconscious conditioning...
Can you play Big Love by Fleetwood Mac ?
I love seeing strong women making music!! Thank you both for being such inspirations!
Rachel is so incredible, the skill is just mindblowing.
Mary is quite possibly the most beautiful woman in the world.
Amazing!
Musik\Ben Harper\01~ With My Own Two Hands °
Great to see two excellent female musicians putting some balance into the male dominated music industry. Inspiring for all!
My goodness your accent and proper grammar are on point, doesn’t hurt that your a drop dead gorgeous woman ⛽️🔥💥
HAIL MARAY,
