I used to mix conditioner, artic fox dye, a hair mask, and coconut oil and it would be less damaging than box dye for me
Ohhh that’s smart it’s like an all in one treatment
thats dangerous territory. theyre all chemicals, doing that you never know what chemicals could mix and cause a bad reaction with one another
I do something similar, hair conditioner and arctic fox or another hair dye.
Do u just rinse out. Or shampoo.
Harry Standen im a chem major and no lmao there’s no reaction to that. conditioner has (alcohol/silicon/emulsifier) that opens and locks in moisture/leaves it in a silky consistency that makes the purple dye stick to it to counter the opposite (yellow) while hair mask adds nutrients to your hair and coconut oil as the barrier.
Seriously thank you for describing everything in such detail exactly what I needed to hear you're awesome!
Awe thank you so much glad you found it helpful! 🥺💕🤗
Omg I use the exact same products you mentioned. I wash my hair every other 3 days.. alternating the purple and blue shampoo, and using the conditioner everytime and they all work so well to keep my hair ashy! I kinda wanna try Overtone though just to experiment.
That’s wild! I love how high maintenance our routines are lol I’ve never heard of overtone is it a colorwash?
@guccciii boiii amazon
@@CiciDo1 overtone is a conditioner that deposits color. look into it :) best to put on dry hair and then wash out.
This video was so informative! Thanks so much for describing each product with simple words for us diy people just trying to save a pretty penny as well as explaining what will work best for each color situation. ❤️❤️
Thank you!! I’m glad you found it helpful
Just bought color wash..hope it works..i can't stand red orangey hair. I hope my hair has been lifted enough with bleach for it to work. I did the balayage ombre by myself..turned out great just hate the orangey red color.
just yang
Did it work? I’m going to buy it tomorrow
@@alyssaflores506 no. My hair wasn't lifted blond enough but it smells great lol.
Awe sorry to hear it didn’t work glad you still liked the smell tho
What color of the color wash did you get? I feel like if you had red-orange hair then maybe get the blue colored wash instead and let it stay in on your hair for 10-20 mins
@@alyssaflores506 so what did you use to lift your orange red
This was serious the most helpful video about ashy hair ever!! Thank you so much!!😘
glad you liked it!
I really appreciate you making this video. I think it will help me a lot. I've dyed my hair orangy/red for years and years and I want to get rid of it now. It's such a long process xD
I'm so glad!
I am so happy I found your channel! And I'm also going to purchase this to try on my brassy organgey blonde hair. Subscribed! 💙
Yay! Thank you! I hope it works for you!
2023 and very relevant! Thank you 🙏
I have medium brown hair and the Fanola didn’t do a thing even after 30 minutes. I think maybe it works better on light hair.
It takes more than one go.
Yeah typically lighter hair takes on the color a lot easier
If you have brown hair with an orange tone the fenola no yellow won’t help you. You need to use something by that is blue based
@@jadabaker1639 thank you! I can’t believe the hairdresser convinced me to buy it.
@@cocochanel773 no problem 😊 glad to help
Thank you so much you are so down-to-earth very informative video best one I've seen yet helping with brassiness
Wow, thank you!
@@CiciDo1 my problem is that the lady that cut my hair cut it wrong it was originally cut into a lob which is longer in the front she cut it in a super blunt Bob I am so upset really and I have brown hair w highlights and don't know how I could ask for more highlights without it looking overly blonde or possibly brassy lol just keeping my roots super dark and the rest like a baylage ombre type deal I go back on July 25th not sure I want to go back and see her though any thoughts ?
Watched all your hair videos and loved them! I have curly hair but I want the ashy tone, so I’m going to try that product! 💞
Thank you. Let me know how it goes for you!
Cici Do hey girl!!! I tried it. So a stylist told me before that curly hair is actually extremely hard to get to an ash tone. And it would take multiple bleach sessions etc. So I’ve been trying to tone down the brass in my hair first but it’s been a legit struggle and I’m not sure why lol. So when I used the clenditioner, it did a bare minimum of toning it. I’m still trying to figure my hair but what I do know is, is that it can take a lot. That being said, I did leave the clenditioner on overnight. I don’t think or I hope my hair isnt too dark for it. It might be the curls though. One day I’ll figure this out lol!
I have med brown hair and bleached it w 30vol did a Bayalage at home and of course turned that orange/gold warm color like on your pictureThe silver color wash worked when i left it on for 20 minutes😊 thank you so much! Going to try the olaplex next!
Yay! I'm glad it worked for you!
Omg yes finally someone who has the orange/gold warm hair like me I was looking for this!!! Thank you
So the first time you used this product your hair color was what was pictured on the left and after leaving it in for 5 mins it turned into the picture on the right?
Conditioners close the cuticule while shampoo opens it.. all of those kind of products to tone deep your hair work better with shampoos.. the conditioner will block it a bit. The fanola turned my hair blue.. thought it was a bit strong for my light blonde.
Good video !
That makes so much sense. Thank you for sharing!! Yeah fanola is pretty intense lol
Wow I think fanola works strongly. So I def need the color wash lol
Lol yeah the color wash takes it to the next level
so helpful. I stopped coloring and am naturally silver BUT have super hard well water and it gets discolored so easy, even with a filter. think the fanola no orange would be helpful in balacing the orange from the iron in the water. Thank you
glad you found it helpful!
Thank you! Found this really helpful!😁
Update: Just ordered the color wash and olaplex I hope it works!
Glad you found it helpful! I hope you like them!!
did it work ?
The color wash helped lighten my hair a bit but for the olaplex I didn't feel much difference.
Would it be possible to apply the silver conditioner to my roots? Or should I just apply the blue shampoo to the top of my head? I’m trying to get the orange out of my roots. I basically feel like a kpop boy band star lol!!I’m going to try this since I bleached my hair at the top first, which made the top lighter than the rest of my hair... then I applied an 8N hair color dye which didn’t help with the orangeness and made it basically strawberry blonde. Then I mixed 6N and 7N and applied it to my roots and it dimmed the shade down but you can see the orangeness still :(.
The silver conditioner will basically deposit a translucent ash tone to your hair. Usually the translucent ash tone will show up better on lighter hair. If your roots are really dark you might only notice a very slight subtle difference
lol
YOU ARE AMAZING
Thank you 🥺 so sweet 🤗💕
Great info, all your videos on toning. Is this the silver blue or regular Silver?
It’s the regular silver if you try the blue one lmk if you like it
I like that you mention you can just buy a light ash blonde dye and that will basically tone your hair that Ash dye will def remove the orange andyello in it and will work better than toners... Ive tried all the wella toners and they don't work as well as the Ash hair dye!
Yes hair dye is definitely stronger it just also dries out my hair more
Ash blonde (revlon hair color #70) got rid of all the hideous orange in my root area. Such a relief and only $3.
Hi the color wash did tone the brown part you have on your hair or not? my roots are a bit reddish and i want to tone only this part with the color wash
Veronica Vironi me too!
it tones it a bit but I find that I have to leave it on longer
Get a green based tonner
In the beginning of the video; is it the previous color you had? Were there any bleach sessions in between or did you solely use this product and this is the direct result from the silver klenditioner? My hair is currently lighter than your before pic, so I’m hoping I can achieve this ashy tone! Thank you in advance💕
the beginning of the video was after my first hair session when my hair got brassy the klenditioner did help alot and made the color way more cool tone but I did get my hair done again before the after shot
Ah thank you thank you! I feel like my purple shampoo barely makes a difference so I'll definitely try this :)
Hope you like it!
Sounds great, I just bought this product but it doesn’t specify if hair should be shampooed first, so my question is, do I shampoo before I put this in my hair or I don’t need to. It also says that I can put it in dry hair, not sure how to proceed with this. Please let me know? Thanks
Hi Lisa, are you referring to the colorwash? The one I linked is a cleansing conditioner so you can technically use it without shampooing your hair first. I like to use it as a conditioner so after I shampoo. You can also apply to dry hair and leave it in longer for more intense results but you would probably have to use more products. Hope this helps :)
Hi! I recently got my hair toned but my hairstylist toned it way too dark and orangey/warm whereas I like it ashy! How soon do you think I should use this method? Also, I saw there’s a silver blue clenditioner, have you tried that one? Would you suggest I get silver or silver blue?
I think if you have more orange tones the blue one might be better but I’ve not tried it yet. The shampoo is kinda drying but the clenditioner is actually pretty moisturizing so I feel like you can use it right away
Hey! Quick question. I tried to tone my hair at home using ion from Sally’s but it ended up actually lighting my brown hair orangy :/ I only want a toner that tones the HIGHLIGHTS and not my whole hair. Would this color shampoo work for me? :)
so the toner can really only tone the parts of your hair that is highlighted/lightened if you have darker hair or brown hair it really won't show up b/c it's a translucent color that goes on top so if your hair is dark it won't be noticeable
It depends on what developer you use. If you use 20 volume developer it will lift the base color too, and can leave some orangey tones. Use 10 volume or 6% volume and you have a good chance of it not lightening the bae color.
Can i tone with a blue shampoo? I dont want to dye my hair and make my blonde babylights darker.
You can if you have more orange pieces I find that blue shampoo makes my hair look darker than purple shampoo does
Great to know! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
I thought that was a shampoo/ conditioner combination. Fanola blue doesn't make the hair darker. Its just for darker hair tones. The purple is for the lightest hair.
It is I just use it as a conditioner
Have you tried the Purple Keracolor conditioner? Does it tone the hair better than the silver one?
oo I haven't but that's a great idea
Which shampoo do you use regularly to help maintain this color ? Thank you
right now I use the fanola purple shampoo and redken color shampoo (red bottle)
Thank you so much, I bleached and tone my hair like 1 inch but now having trouble with what to do with roots , they look warm brown/ light brown , I’m going to use Fanola to see if it helps :(
I’m gonna try the silver and see if that helps. My hair is a light ash/light brown. So fingers crossed. It has a lot of orange in it right now.
hopefully it works for you! let us know
how long did the colour wash conditioner bottle last for you?
it lasted forever but I don't wash my hair very often & I don't use it every time I wash my hair
I love your hair colour. Its absolutly gorgeous . What do you call this colour. How would I describe it to a hair dresser?
thank you I asked for a light brown/dark blonde balayage but i recommend showing your stylist pictures/videos of what you want
I ordered a human hair wig that was a soft brown with honey blonde highlights and what I got in the mail was a Ron Weasley ginger wig with honey blonde highlights and I'm so upset because the wig is really good quality and perfect thickness. I just want it to be a light soft brown, what should I do I'm lost but don't want to mess up the wig. Also I want to keep highlights in the wig but just want it Brown
Hi, how do you use the olaplex no. 3? Do you use it as a leave in or rinse it after a few hours? Thank you! :)
I usually use it on wet hair before I wash it. If I have time I try to leave it on for a few hours but if not just 10 min
hello! I’m not sure if you would know but, to achieve your hair color, do you think wella t14 with 050 will get it? (After bleaching ofcourse)
hi Jennifer! my hair stylist told me she used 2 different colors on my hair I googled wella t14 with 050 and from what I can tell it looks like it will deposit a translucent ash tone on top of your hair color so I think it will really depend on what your hair looks like after bleach
Which product got your hair to the color it is now, in this video?
I bleached my hair at the salon twice and used the products mentioned in the video to tone my hair at home. Are you asking what products my hair stylist used?
MsJgree
I wonder what it will do to leave it on for an hour. I figure it will make it purple, that is, if the hair is light enough. I've never heard anyone say that about olaplex. This is interesting. I wonder if the makers of it realize that?
I think it will turn purple if the hair is light enough. I wonder if it's just b/c olaplex makes the color look better since the hair looks healthier
my hair was all highlighted then covered with a brown dye , now i want to strip the brown and get the highlights back is it possible?
Yes, buy a colour remover at drugstore ;)
Bleach wash with low % and do not keep on long so iT wont lift up the dark also
girl i did the same thing 😭😭
I did that too but once I tried to dye it lighter my highlights showed through picking up the lightest color
@@evflowers5408 oh interesting thanks !
would the color wash work on highlighted hair? do you still apply to the whole head?
It will work better on the highlighted/lightened parts. You can apply to the darker parts if you want but the results will be less noticeable on the darker bits
Late to the party but i had recently added honey/caramel highlights to my very dark asian hair but its already turning a little orange, should I try this silver color wash conditioner thingy you recommended in the video? Im nervous because i dont want my hair to look silver at all, thank you!
hi michelle if your hair is more orange color I don't think the colorwash would be able to make it silver and you can always start by leaving it on for just a minute or 2 if you don't want the results to be super intense I will say if you have darker orange tones it might not tone it as much as you want
How about just getting a ammoni free toner from Goldwell Colorance or matrix colour sync? With their developer ... and it would be a lot better 🥰
I've never tried that. It it just a hair color + developer? I think the conditioner is probably less damaging but probably less effective as well
You say that it doesn't work to make brown hair lighter but in your before pictures your hair looked brown. Now it looks ashy blonde.
I think the lighting made my hair look more brown than it really was. It's not bleach so it can't lighten hair it can only deposit a translucent wash of color on the existing hair color.
I tried using the Keracolor silver conditioner and it didn’t help my brassiness at all 😞 I had similar hair color to your before pic. Do you think if I keep doing it it will eventually turn cancel out the brass?
You can try leaving it on longer but it doesn’t work on the darker parts of my hair
Olaplex does that to me aswell! I googled but could t find anyone else who experienced it!
omg finally someone who knows what I'm talking about! thank you!!
I’m so excited to try this, my hair is more brunette/brassy and I have the privana perfect brunette blue shampoo. AMAZING on blue tones but I never thought to put the olaplex in after to help w color!
When did you start noticing a difference from using the color dye conditioner?
I noticed a difference right after
Hi! How long do you leave the colorwash for?
Hi! about 2-3 minutes
Hi! What color did you use to use to dye your hair?
My hairstylist said she used redken bleach & the guy tang color in lv7 & lv9 I think?
I have really dark hair and I dyed my hair with the revlon highlighting frost and glow kit in honey. Do you know if the color wash would work for the dyed areas? Thank you!!
It depends on the color of your highlighted areas the color wash will deposit a translucent ash tone on whatever color your highlighted hair is so if your hair is too dark the difference will be really subtle
Cici Do hmm ok, I think I’ll test it out just to see if it makes a difference or not! Thank you so much for replying back!! :)
What color hair wash do I get if my hair is brown with orange in it
I would recommend blue shampoo or blue color wash to counteract orange tones
hi great review i’m a little late tho. i just bought the blue shampoo. do i have to apply normal shampoo at all before or after the blue shampoo? thx:)
I don't b/c the blue shampoo is already pretty drying
when my red pigment started coming through i used blue shampoo (because im brunette) and it turned it to a really orange colour and i had to get my hair entirely redone and so um now there’s some trust issues with it
anon ‘-‘ use a colour wheel to get to neutral toner
Carly Heffernan ill try that next time thank you xx
Are you naturally brunnete or ginger? Because i want to dye my hair without bleach and want to tone out the brassyness.
Jan Karel im a natural brunette!!
It’s easy to tone. Super easy. The hardest part is when the “professional stylist” messed up the bleaching process and made my hair uneven, harsh lines everywhere. God I hate her she even ASKED for a tip. Never going to come back to a Korean salon
What did you do when it was uneven? This just happened to me too! And like it’s super orange in some parts and yellow in others not even at all. So I want to tone it.
I know what you mean about harsh lines it's one of my pet peeves. I've seen some really nice results from Korean salons on youtube but I'm sorry you didn't have a good experience
I have orange hair and I never bleached it but I was wondering if these products would still work even though I never bleached my hair before. I picked out ash blonde colors at the hair salon but the lady never bleached it first so it came out as orange.
They will only tone your hair slightly if your hair is too dark. They can only deposit a translucent color on top of your current hair color so if your hair is dark brown for example it won't be very noticeable
Which hair mask do you use? xx
I use the macadamia one
product list?
I used B4 col remover..the result,my gets is yellow and my lengths are orangy..what do u suggest to remove the yellow frm my greys and the orange from my lightened black hair
I think purple shampoo will help with the yellow bits but for darker/more orange y bits I think you'll need either bleach or blue shampoo. Blue shampoo will neutralize the orange but it also tends to make hair a bit darker looking
i recently got my hair done at salon and it turned very brassy nobleach jus color can i still use the color wash?
yeah the color wash should help a bit it might not be super noticeable if your hair is darker
What was the level of your bleached hair in this video?!!
I'm sorry I have no idea... it looked blonde/yellow before my hairdresser put a light ash brown color on it... I hope this helps
Hi! Which olapex product did you use ?
That link doesn’t work
I uses olaplex number 3 in this video
Will this work for bleached brassy hair
It should but it depends on how dark your hair is typically lighter hair will see more noticeable results
Had to re-watch to find out how you used olaplex, trying that today, ty
hope you like it!
This does work only problem it just doesn't last Back to the drawing board
bleached hair is so high maintenance i feel like dying it dark could solve all the problems lol
i have naturally black hair and right now i have a dimensional balayage, which is mostly ash blonde but i have some darker orangey pieces. should i get blue shampoo (actually i was thinking the fanola blue no orange hair MASK) or the color wash?
the blue will counteract the orange bits more but it might also make your hair look a bit darker
What number of Olaplex do u use
I use 3-6 and 8
Hi! I’m trying to get rid of the orange in my hair and getting it to dark brown. Do I choose the silver colour? Thanks!
I think the silver would help a little bit but if you're going for a dark brown a blue shampoo might work better
Your eyes 😍
thank you :)
can you pls leave the links of the products u used?
hi the links are in the description box
Thank you for the info. 😄😄😄
💕😀
bleached my hair twice and toned it with wella t18 and i have some brassiness, i already have purple shampoo but id like to get the orange out, I wouldnt mind going for a grey look, what should i do
I would recommend leaving the purple shampoo in for longer than the recommended time if you don't mind your hair going slightly purple. With some trial and error your might be able to find the right amount of time to leave it in to get a color you like
T18 is good at toning out the yellow but t14 works great for more orange tones
Taylor L thanks taylor😊
T18 is incorrect T14 is what you need for orange hair
What olaplex do you use though?
I use number 3! I also started using number 6 but I think 3 is better
@@CiciDo1 ahh thank you so much
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
the blue shampoo did nothing on my orange hair nothing
Awe no
green seems to maybe help btw
I frosted my hair today and it came out orange looks ugly ugh I even used to no orange shampoo and nope didn’t do nothing I’m crying 😢
o no sorry to hear that :( maybe try leaving it in longer? hope it works out
Cici Do so I just stripped my hair with vitamin c and dandruff shampoo and dawn soap and it actually worked 👍🏼 it toned down my orange hair and made it more light brown with lighter brown highlights . Happy with my results 🙏🏼
Yay I’m so glad to hear that!
Gypsy Babe girl same message me ;(

Is it temperary?
Aamenah Mohamed no, the toning washes out
Yeah it washes out after a few shampoos depending on how strong your shampoo is
Waving the bottle quickly why not just name a product /brand or even write it down in the description. Am I suppose to go on amazon and look at all bottles that are square???
Miss Viking I believe she mentioned the name of the bottle
i think it's linked in the description?
Cici Do thanks 😊
