As of January 2024, my opening sound after hey Google has disappeared again. All the things that these types of videos say to click on are no longer in my accessibility even if I type in switch in all the other suggestions you guys say, none of it shows up. As of 2024, none of these RUclips videos work for this opening beep problem. Please help
    Just added:
What's listed on my accessibility app please tell me which one of these I was supposed to push.

Hands-free "Hey Google" or "OK Google" is a lifesaver if you ever need to call 911 without being able to access your phone. If you are near your phone just say hey Google or OK Google call 911 and it will. I have tried this from another room speaking at a normal volume and it has picked up my voice. Like I said this feature is a lifesaver!

But just like you said . After I switched it and then didn't set up anything further... BAM... it works... I can't understand why Google would of taken this off but you are absolutely the man... Because I think you need to know if your phone heard you so you can speak your command .. awesome works man!! I'm ocd and this totally made my week. Much thanks!

Removing this feature with such convoluted and counterintuitive workaround to bring it back is an idiotic decision from some sick brains at Google. When will those "developers" learn when they want to make a change to present it as an option. The users should be given an easy and intuitive way to accept or decline the change. Shame on you Google, for removing this feature from my phone without asking me. it took me months of frustration to find out how to get the confirmation sound back. I had to read so many instructions and watched RUclips videos to find out that Google can't leave these useful feature alone but try all kinds of idiotic ways to deal with it in each Android version.

Doesn't work with either Switch access or Voice access on Pixel 7 Pro. Also half the time my alarms play silently at full volume and the voice assistant will display responses in text without reading them. I cannot fix this with any of the volume sliders. I ensure do not disturb was not activated. The only fix is to say "Hey google full volume." and that is only temporary.
I've missed so many alarms and have to repeat my commands like 5x. Sucks when I really rely on hands-free features during work.

This did not work as "switch access" was not in the settings for my Galaxy S10 plus. What did work was settings>accessibility>installed apps>link to windows>on. However, I find this remedy really suspicious, as it prompts before turning on that you are giving link to windows "full control over your phone," which then describes parameters as if someone is on the other side now being able to see exactly what you are doing and literally have full control over your phone. I left the setting off because it weired me out too much. Not worth it really.

Hi so it didn't work for me ither until I turned my phone off then back on and it's working however my RUclips screen then had forward and rewind control symbols on it but I fixed that by going into the RUclips settings and scrolling down to accessibility and turning accessibility player off and now everything's sorted, thank Explaining Android👍🏼

For those like me not finding "switch access" under accessibility..... do this...
Settings > accessibility > installed apps > sound notifications >>>>> toggle on "sound notifications shortcut"
    This worked for me.
I now get the audio que..again.

Over here on Samsung, there is no "switch" access. However, I sort of found a way to fix this since this didn't work. What I did was go to Accessibility, tap "installed apps," and from there selected whatever app came up (I have 5, apparently). In my case, I selected "Link to Windows." Turned that on and tried the "hey Google" phrase and it worked. Almost a year of no sound.... finally.

Galaxy S22 (regular) has no switch access or literally any of the other options mentioned in the comments... wtf? It gives one short vibration, but not the beep...The reason I use google assistant is because I can't get to my phone to type the search in the Google search bar. (In the car or... I dunno if I have fallen and can't get up?) Anyone have any other suggestions?
