A short analysis of Hamilton and Burr's difference's when it comes to legacies. Alex never hesitated. He saw an opportunity to build his legacy and he took it. His whole life was the saying "Do now, worry later" He hit his peak during Non-Stop. After that, he went downhill. Yes, he cheated on Eliza, but he saw it as an opportunity to grow his legacy outside of his wife's family plan. He then learned he'd have to reep what he sowed to protect himself. Hamilton saw rumors as something worse than him telling people himself. This backfired horribly. Burr, on the other hand, waited for the right time. He handled sleeping with a married woman better than Hamilton. He didn't show strong emotions because it was safer. He didn't go out and write a whole essay about how he was in love with Theodosia because Laurence mentioned one thing about them being together. He saw a great thing, but waited to figure out the consequences of his love. He was gonna wait for it, even though he really wanted to marry the girl

I love how Burr, despite being one of the most levelheaded people in the musical, is the one suggesting a dual, showing that he’s finally snapped after, in Hamilton’s words, 30 years of disagreements. Leslie Odom Jr really gets across the cold fury Burr has and he gives me chills every time.
Lyrics- How does Hamilton, an arrogant immigrant, orphan Bastard, whore's son Somehow endorse Thomas Jefferson, his enemy A man he's despised since the beginning Just to keep me from winning? I find this song both amusing and telling of impending doom. The way Burr says "I have the honor to be your obedient servant, A dot Burr", it's like saying "I'm royally ticked off at you, but I'm being gentile about it at the end of my letter." It just feels like sarcasm, or when you're talking to someone who is simmering and their still trying to be polite about how they talk about what's making them angry.

I love that whenever at the end Burr has the smoking gun, he looks scared/remorseful, which could mean that he might've accidentally killed hamilton cause most of the time if someone dies during that kind of duel, it's an accident
Burr: I look back on where I failed... _Rewatching at the recordings of the first act where Ham asked him "Are you Aaron Burr, sir?"_ Burr: Should I have said no?
The idea that the one time Burr doesn't "wait for it" ends up with him being "the damn fool that shot him" is why this song is one of my favorite of the show.
I'm screaming man jesus christ this is so well done FUCK the smoothening of the clips towards the end my heart OMG. fr though the skeleton clipping killed me that was so striked my skin is pricking rn
"You're grievices legitimate, I stand by what I said."-Alexander Hamilton. Best come back he's had so far. He's calm, honest, and while he understands what Burr is saying and why he's mad? He's not going to change his opinion, especially if it's based on facts. Also, "just to keep me from wining" & "you've kept me from the room where it happens... For the last time." So Burr, who's acting like a child now? That kinda sounds, to me, like you're saying "I deserve this because I say so". Not because you actually earned it.
Got to love how all these letters were just long lists of why one party hates the other party, and then they sign off with 'your obedient servant'. It's like sending someone an 'I hate you' letter, and finishing it with 'Love'.
Can’t be the only one who has a whole ass playlist of Hamilton. This song is highly underrated. I haven’t realized how good it was. I was listened to my TOP favorites , right hand man, night of the reprise, Aaron burr sir, my shot, etc etc
Omg the top few comments are all talking about the song and not the amazing fucking art like this is beautiful I especially liked the parts where it had the words on the screen and moved really fast, when Alex was talking, and then like from 2:02 to the end because that. was. gorgeous. Very sad. But gorgeous
If you do either watch all the animatics, listen to the soundtrack, wait for the recorded movie version in like 2020, or go to see the musical live on Broadway. You can't look up the full actual performance on RUclips.
This is really good, I actually might be pointing out the obvious here😂 2:28 😱 I LOVE the ending where burr is yanking his cloak sideways and he has this badass grin on his face😂 the animation is really good!!! Thank you for this!!!
The room where it happens and this song such great symbolism. Especially to me because it shows the part of Burr many don't see. I love all the images and visuals the song gives, it's such a good song filled with anger.
burr- what did i do to you? hamoltion- heres an itemized list of every disagreement over the past 30 years burr- -.-" Thats is imma challenge you to a duel
In the original, Hamilton says something like “sorry if your life is difficult without your wife” after Dear Theodosia (reprise). If that was included, it would make a lot more sense why Burr challenged him to a duel.
Burrs quest to be in "The room where it happens", could be construed as a quest for true independence. To be the one making the decisions and not the one being affected.
Always found funny how the "Your Obedient Servant" Thing was so popular back then, regardless of what the letter was about, it's like: "Fuck You. I have the honour to be, your Obedient Servant"
I like that you didn’t give burr over exaggerated facial expressions in this. You nailed the look of controlled seething that an actual person in his position would look like in this situation.
Burr: Alex you look dead Alex: IM ALWAYS DEAD THATS A INSULT I DEMAND SATISFACTION Burr: uh, that’s my line Angelica in the back: He ain’t getting any satisfaction so-

Answer for the accusations I lay at your feet or prepare to bleed, good man
Burr, your grievance is legitimate
I stand by what I said, every bit of it
You stand only for yourself, it's what you do
I can't apologize because it's true
Then stand, Alexander
Weehawken, dawn
Guns drawn
You're on
I have the honor to be your obedient servant
A dot Ham
A dot Burr
No replies? NOT IN MY WORLD *BRUH*

Jesus this song is amazing
It's like a mix of the musical pop and actual dark pop
Also the art is amazing
WHY DOESN’T THIS VIDEO HAVE MORE VIEWSSSS?!? THIS IS AWESOME, CONGRATS!!!!
thank you
I find this song both amusing and telling of impending doom.
LYRICS:
How does Hamilton, an arrogant immigrant, orphan
Bastard, whoreson
Somehow endorse Thomas Jefferson, his enemy
A man he's despised since the beginning
Just to keep me from winning?
I wanna be in the room where it happens
The room where it happens
The room where it happens
You've kept me from the room where it happens
For the last time
Dear Alexander
I am slow to anger
But I toe the line
As I reckon with the effects
Of your life on mine
I look back on where I failed
And in every place I checked
The only common thread has been your disrespect
Now you call me "amoral"
A "dangerous disgrace"
If you've got something to say, name a time and place, face-to-face
I have the honor to be your obedient servant
A dot Burr
Mr. Vice President
I am not the reason no one trusts you
No one knows what you believe
I will not equivocate on my opinion
I have always worn it on my sleeve
Even if I said what you think I said
You would need to cite a more specific grievance
Here's an itemized list of thirty years of disagreements
Sweet Jesus
Hey, I have not been shy
I am just a guy in the public eye
Tryna do my best for our republic, I don't wanna fight
But I won't apologize for doing what's right
I have the honor to be your obedient servant
A dot Ham
Careful how you proceed, good man
Intemperate indeed, good man
Answer for the accusations I lay at your feet or prepare to bleed, good man
Burr, your grievance is legitimate
I stand by what I said, every bit of it
You stand only for yourself, it's what you do
I can't apologize because it's true
Then stand, Alexander
Weehawken, dawn
Guns drawn
You're on
I have the honor to be your obedient servant
A dot Ham
A dot Burr
I love that whenever at the end Burr has the smoking gun, he looks scared/remorseful, which could mean that he might've accidentally killed hamilton cause most of the time if someone dies during that kind of duel, it's an accident
Burr: I look back on where I failed...
_Rewatching at the recordings of the first act where Ham asked him "Are you Aaron Burr, sir?"_
Burr: Should I have said no?
The idea that the one time Burr doesn't "wait for it" ends up with him being "the damn fool that shot him" is why this song is one of my favorite of the show.
YAAAASSSSSS. It just kept getting better and better.
This is how I got into Hamilton!!! I'm so glad it's back!!!!
I'm screaming man jesus christ this is so well done FUCK the smoothening of the clips towards the end my heart OMG.
fr though the skeleton clipping killed me that was so striked my skin is pricking rn
The tension buildup throughout this musical between these two combined with this bomb animatic is-
**Italian chef kiss**
😃 thanks!!
For the last time."
So Burr, who's acting like a child now? That kinda sounds, to me, like you're saying "I deserve this because I say so". Not because you actually earned it.
WHY IS NO ONE TALKING ABOUT HOW GOOD THESE DRAWINGS ARE ESPECIALLY THAT SKULL AT THE END LIKE DAMN THATS SO GOOD!!!
Hamilton: has an opinion
Burr: peace was never an option
understandable for Burr considering Hamilton's opinion here was "Burr really sucks"
I love at the end, where it flashes to Hamilton getting shot, and the face-to-face where he turns into a skull. Nice detail!
Got to love how all these letters were just long lists of why one party hates the other party, and then they sign off with 'your obedient servant'. It's like sending someone an 'I hate you' letter, and finishing it with 'Love'.
Could we just talk about how good burr’s voice sounds during “the room where it happens” verse?
Just remember how at the start, Alex looked up to burr and then burr ended up having to look up to Alex.
In my opinion this is the catchiest song in the whole play

TRUE OMG
Can’t be the only one who has a whole ass playlist of Hamilton. This song is highly underrated. I haven’t realized how good it was. I was listened to my TOP favorites , right hand man, night of the reprise, Aaron burr sir, my shot, etc etc
2:17 Burr’s elbows dislocating
Omg the top few comments are all talking about the song and not the amazing fucking art like this is beautiful
I especially liked the parts where it had the words on the screen and moved really fast, when Alex was talking, and then like from 2:02 to the end because that. was. gorgeous. Very sad. But gorgeous
tell me this isn't good and I SWEAR TO GOD,
i won't do anything but hate u cuz i don't wanna go to jail.

You don’t have to beat me up because this is amazing.

1:24 DID YOU THROW AWAY YOUR SHOT
Imagine opening up your mailbox nowadays and finding a 30 page, passive aggressive letter challenging you to a duel to the death.
💀✋
If we're using flintlock pistols (which are quite terrible in accuracy), im doing it
I love how Hamilton's face quickly flashed into a skull at 2:27. Very nice touch!!
I’ve never watched Hamilton and j don’t know what it is but I might try to watch it now because this is really good
If you do either watch all the animatics, listen to the soundtrack, wait for the recorded movie version in like 2020, or go to see the musical live on Broadway. You can't look up the full actual performance on RUclips.
i guess ill wait then im only 12 got forever to wait

There is an animated version of Hamilton I'm gonna watch it with my friend you should look for it its called
Hamilton: the musical (Animatic version)
This is really good, I actually might be pointing out the obvious here😂 2:28 😱 I LOVE the ending where burr is yanking his cloak sideways and he has this badass grin on his face😂 the animation is really good!!! Thank you for this!!!

The room where it happens and this song such great symbolism. Especially to me because it shows the part of Burr many don't see.
I love all the images and visuals the song gives, it's such a good song filled with anger.
I love how burr is staring at a dead Hamilton near the end on how the duel is gonna end amazing animation
this is freaking amazing and Burr looks so well, that's maybe bc i'm obssessed with him but still your work is art
1:02
"You call me amoral, is that what you think?"
I like how at the end Aaron shoots and Alexander holds his gun to the sky. (as the next song explains) I like how you added it to this song
It's like a spoiler lmao
Holy shit the shade in this is UNIMAGINABLE
“Here a list of all the things you’ve done that pissed me off over the last 3 decades.”
burr- what did i do to you?
hamoltion- heres an itemized list of every disagreement over the past 30 years
burr- -.-" Thats is imma challenge you to a duel
In the original, Hamilton says something like “sorry if your life is difficult without your wife” after Dear Theodosia (reprise). If that was included, it would make a lot more sense why Burr challenged him to a duel.
Burrs quest to be in "The room where it happens", could be construed as a quest for true independence. To be the one making the decisions and not the one being affected.
passive aggression: the song
Always found funny how the "Your Obedient Servant" Thing was so popular back then, regardless of what the letter was about, it's like:
"Fuck You.
I have the honour to be, your Obedient Servant"
Just think... Burr sent a letter to Hamilton, and all it said was ‘Sweet Jesus’ That sure was a waste of postcards.
Great job love how you developed all 🌸💖
Burr: You'll pay for what you've done to me!
Hamilton: k but which "what" are you referring to my dude
I like that you didn’t give burr over exaggerated facial expressions in this. You nailed the look of controlled seething that an actual person in his position would look like in this situation.
I love how you make Burr’s problems a tangled string mess.
This is really cool
1:36 is me trying to explain what we need to be doing to my group for the group project for the 1,000th time.
Burr: Alex you look dead
Alex: IM ALWAYS DEAD THATS A INSULT I DEMAND SATISFACTION
Burr: uh, that’s my line
Angelica in the back: He ain’t getting any satisfaction so-
53 reasons i love this animatic
1.) The art style❤
2.) this is an amazing musical
Ask Hamilton he wrote the other 51
This song is the reason I got into the musical, along with The room where it happens and the curiosity after I listened a Hamilton's analysis.
