I love Jefferson’s reaction to John Adams calling Hamilton “creole bastard”. “Say what” = Like, what are you doing?! I antagonize him, but even I know my limits.
That's a good point. Jefferson knew what buttons to push or not push. Adams crossed the wrong line lol. Also, I am still so sad this landed on the cutting room floor. Woulda loved to see this done on stage.

It’s used to describe Hamilton mostly because he grew up in the Caribbean, where this creole culture had/has its highest concentration. Not to mention, he was also a product of multiple cultures (his father was Scottish and I believe his mother was English?) though that’s less relevant because his father’s culture never played a part in Alexander’s life, much like his father himself. And of course, the “bastard” part is because he was born out of wedlock, that one is pretty self-explanatory. There was a bit of social controversy over Hamilton’s “immigrant” status, which is highlighted numerous times in the show by his enemies, and unlike contemporary controversies, it wasn’t a matter of race back then, but of nationality.
I mean, I am south American, and at least on my country, (Chile) they taught us that a Criollo (the Spanish vertion of Creole) was someone born in the Americas, they usually had worst standing than European born settlers, but it didn't mean anything racial really, everyone from a mulatto to a mestizo or even someone born to 2 European parents would qualify as a Creole so long as they where born in the colonies. To be honest it's mostly the English and the portugues who had a weird fixation on race for what I've read.
“Give my regards to Abigail,” is such an interesting line. I can’t tell if Hamilton is showing he respects her more then Adams; or is he implying Adams is unable to do anything without his wife who is his moral compass?
I think both. Especially since Abigail was a notable part of the boycotts like the Daughters of Liberty did (rebelling against Parliament, limited rights of women/colonists, etc). But I feel like in Hamilton's eyes, since Abigail d i d some important, valuable things in her life, he respected her, at least more than Adams. (coming from someone with very basic history knowledge + Hamilton info so inform me if I'm wrong).

tbh i don't mind that the rap was cut (i love it i just get why miranda felt it was unnecessary) but i wish "you'll die of irrelevance" had made it somewhere into the musical, like during one of the cabinet battles. it goes hard.
Jefferson ripped into Adams at one point. “Adams has a hideous, hermaphroditical character which has neither the force and firmness of a man, nor the gentleness and sensibility of a woman.”
Fun fact: Hamilton's reasoning for writing this was also mainly due to how Adams handled the Quasi-War and the XYZ Affair. Namely Hamilton and other Federalists wanted to go to war with France but Adams felt that the US would be unable to handle a full scale war and did his best to keep it limited to the naval skirmishes that occurred. In the end Adams managed to send a commission to France to sign a treaty with Napoleon which Hamilton was greatly against. Despite getting peace with France, Adams divided the Federalist party. Also, the paper Hamilton would go on to write about Adams' character and why he shouldn't be reelected was only sent to a handful of Federalists but somehow Burr got his hands on it and released it to the public.

Fun fact: Hamilton's reasoning for writing this was also mainly due to how Adams handled the Quasi-War and the XYZ Affair. Namely Hamilton and other Federalists wanted to go to war with France but Adams felt that the US would be unable to handle a full scale war and did his best to keep it limited to the naval skirmishes that occurred. In the end Adams managed to send a commission to France to sign a treaty with Napoleon which Hamilton was greatly against. Despite getting peace with France, Adams divided the Federalist party. Also, the paper Hamilton would go on to write about Adams' character and why he shouldn't be reelected was only sent to a handful of Federalists but somehow Burr got his hands on it and released it to the public.
