- Watch as I sew a swimsuit cover-up that can double as an everyday dress! I have used New Look pattern H0171, aka N6575 (link below).
Before I started this project, I had a little bit of visualization fun using a personalized croquis from mybodymodel.com . I was able to sketch my intended pattern view and fabric choice which gave me the confidence to cut my fabric and get sewing!
I'll show you how I've constructed this garment from start to finish -- including the key details such as the neckband facings and the drawsting/elastic application.
This design is made for woven fabric, such as silk, challis, chambray, cotton lawn, gauze, and rayon. I have used a thin, flowy polycotton blend here.
This tutorial is intended to make your sewing journey a little easier, with comprehensive instructions, serving as a solo guide or in addition to the written instructions.
This step by step sewing tutorial with easy sewing instructions is great for beginners to learn how to sew. I am hoping this DIY sewing project and other sewing videos on my channel serve as your companion in completing masterful garments. Yes, it's hit and miss. Whenever I drive out of town, I definitely hit up all the Walmarts along the way to see what I can find -- it varies from store to store. 🏬 🚗
