In China it's common sense that wild mushrooms are dangerous because many of those are poisonous and common people cannot tell apart poisonous ones from edible ones. However, they are so delicious so there are dedicated wild mushroom farmers who are experts. I think it's also the same in other Asian cultures.

@@diannewalker5132 I see. For hallucinogenic mushrooms I would think of fly amanita. That's the 🍄 in Super Mario. However, both amanita and magic mushrooms (mentioned in the other comment above and formally known as psilocybin mushrooms) are not known to be addictive, physiologically. They are hallucinogenic and have been used recreationally in many cultures. Therefore, I think people might get somewhat addicted mainly due to the enjoyment out of their effects.
