    I also pray in prostration to HShem. I believe it is a sign of humility and respect to HShem. I did not know about Karaite Jews and the Karaite service until today. Amazing. Thank you for posting. ברכות ושלום

      Please take your psychoactive medications before commenting. Your attack on this gal is really unwarranted -- I see no proof she consumes PaliNazi propaganda; the country she lives in is irrelevant and she is entitled to her own moniker. One of her clips is a blessing for Jslm. Day (Yom Yerushalayim) and she said in the comment above nothing that warrants her being offended!
      You have done Jews and Qaraites in particular a disservice with your misbegotten comment.

    I have been waiting for such a video, but let's address a different issue: There are no Karaite communities nor Synagogue here in Europe. I am totally isolated. Chances of getting a Karaite wife are zero. I love Karaitism, but as it is not good to be without a wife, as a mature man, I might have to opt for Orthodox instead. Why are there no Karaite matrimonial resources online? Even the Noahide have a matrimonial online resource. Karaite need to become a lot more sophisticated in supporting isolated communities. Theological support is not enough. No matrimonial resources on Nehemia's Wall, nothing found on KJ of America... How can it be expected to convert. people such as myself, when there is no prospect of us finding a Karaite wife? Come on, get it organized please! Prospective converts cannot wait forever for this, either.

    • @ZviJ1

      Why did you bring up the American Nehemia, who cares only about his north American followers and fans (at an absolute most), nealry all of whom are Christian and Messianic "Jews"? I know you have probably seen the website of the European Qaraites (not the non-Jewish eastern European Karaylar, but Jews and aspirant Qaraite Jews).
      I sugggest you try finding some Jewish wife from any movement (from the most liberal, like Renewal, up to Orthodox) who would agree to become Qaraite. This is what Ḥakham Meir Rekhavi did and it has worked marvelously for him.

      @@alvinleong173 This is really problematic in that the woman would not necessarily join the Jewish people out of a sincere desire to practice Qaraite Judaism and share the people's fate in every way. Such "convenience" conversions are rejected even by the Reform, when there's no shadow of doubt about the woman's real motives.

  • @alk158

    Anyway, there is no biblical obligation to pray and should all prayer be done kneeling. I don't see when Moses pleaded with God that he kneeled. I am just asking because over doing makes the God of Israel look like a God that is easily angered that we have to kneel all day. Not sure I would feel comfortable doing this. Maybe that is because of my upbringing but wondering if this has more to do with imitating the Muslim way of prayer.

    • @Matis_wav
      @Matis_wav 9 лет назад

      +Adam K I have a question for you logic. 2,000 years ago, when we had Hashem's Shechinah (His G-dly, spiritual essence) those Jews Davened the EXACT same prayers we do today (not sure which nusach). So here's my question. If Hakadosh Baruchu wants us to only keep things from the written Torah, why did he dwell in the Beis Hamikdash and accept the prayers that the Jews were saying. Also, In Seifer Bamidbar, Hashem not only gives us the written torah, but also the oral Torah. Maimonides explains that Moshe Rabbeinu knew all of the Oral Torah, including Gemarah, Musser, and Chassidus.

    • @alk158
      @alk158 9 лет назад +3

      First of all stop calling Moses Moshe Rabeinu. He actually was a prophet and to downgrade him to a Rabbi shows a clear agenda don't you realize this.
      Second of all,.how can something orally be proven. Everything that happens in the Five Books of Moses is done in a way in which you don't have to do mental gymnastics to understand what God wanted. So the whole idea of some "oral" law given side by side is in complete opposition to the way things happened in the Five Books of Moses. It was funny I went to an accounting seminar for my accounting license and the instructor mentioned how a 2nd wife who didn't like his first wife's kids but told them she wrote herself out of her will. He dies and then the kids say well you said this so the wife says well find the document. So she pulled a fast one and the kids relied on something she ORALLY SAID. But didn't verify if it was true through getting the document. Abraham when he bought Shechem for his wife he made sure their was proof of this. I would hope God would be held to the same standard and not a lower standard of verifying that some "oral torah" is true and have never seen any proof.
      And the Rambam by the way using scare tactics to claim you have to believe his principles. He uses threat of "No world to come". That sounds very similar to threats using by other organized religious groups in which they don't you to think but want to scare you to do saying as they so. In fact in Va'Yikra (Leviticus) Chapter 26 God mentions rewards and punishments and none of them are in this world.

    • @Matis_wav
      @Matis_wav 9 лет назад +1

      Adam K Wow... You have no idea what you're talking about do you? The Torah itself addresses Moshe as "Rabbeinu". Next, the oral Torah THAT WAS PASSED ON BY THE HOLY RABBUNIM AND THE SANHEDRIN, was given to Moshe at Har Sinai... He then shared it with the yidden. Then a man by the name of Rav Yehudah Hanassi came along and decided to write it down... WITH THE HELP OF THE PROPHETS, BEIS DINS, AND THE SANHEDRIN! Third, The Rambam NEVER used scare tactics. The Rambam acknowledged in Perush HaMishnayos, hilchos melachim, and Yisodei Hatorah that there was an afterlife. In fact, in Perush Hamishnays the Rambam quotes Pirkei Avos and says, "EVERY JEW HAS A SHARE IN THE WORLD TO COME!". Also, there is a HUGE Machlokes on what the punishments at the end of Achrei Mos Kedoshim actually means... But of course, you don't recognize it :\ I can go all day buddy.

    • @Matis_wav
      @Matis_wav 9 лет назад

      Adam K Also to clarify, being called "rabbeinu" doesn't mean he's being called rabbi. It mean "Moishe our Teacher". Moshe is given countless brats and titles including the title of Navi. But we refer to Moshe as "Rabbeinu". Similar to how Chassidim refer to their Rebbe as "Adoneinu Moreinu V'Rabbeinu" (Not to compare a Rebbe to Moshe Rabbeinu though).

    • @alk158
      @alk158 9 лет назад

      +Matt Levine No where in the torah is Moses referred to as Rabeniu. Simply not true. Please tell me where in the Five Books of Moses or anyone else in Tanach for that matter in which Moses is called "Rabbeinu" Chapter and Verse. Secondly, Rabbeinu the root of this word does come from Rabbi which by the way doesn't even really mean teacher. It means Master. The word teacher is More' or Mora for female. So to claim it is different word from Rabbi is not true and this is the excuse other groups use to call their person a Rabbi saying well it all means is teacher so why not. Thirdly, most of what you are saying sounds like you are repeating typical talking points but I will ask you a question that I have also heard of being against the "oral" torah. During the period of Kings at many times Israel was ruled by Evil kings who promoted pagan religions and caused God anger to rise up. One of the kings found a scroll to which he realized how much they had fallen and clearly they had forgotton their covenant with God. So if they forgot the written torah how could they have remembered an oral torah. Fourthly, if this truly comes from God why so many different opinions. And it is all the ways of God. Someone has to be wrong don't you think unless it really isn't about God in the first place. Rabbi Scheinberg I Israel use to wear 200 different pairs of Tefillian to follow every opinion. If they truly had God's word I don't think this would be the case. Karatie Jews by the way feel that Tefillian is simply not meant literally because anyway it is impossible to put the whole torah on your arm and meant that it should be discussed but Rabbis took this to be literal.

      Many Orthodox Jews still prostrate on "Rosh Hashana" and Yom haKippurim. Indeed, prostration among Rabbinical Jews has become so rare that apparently most of them are not even aware of its existence. This is extremely sad.
      Let's return to the harmless among the old ways that virtually all of us abandoned.

    • @ComradeApep
      @ComradeApep 8 лет назад

      personally, I don't see it as a commandment to pray nor is it actually given a solid foundation as to how to pray. sure there are verses with the people praying. but Adonai seems to do what he wants regardless of what people pray. it's a manner of fulfilling our part in the covenant and less time in prayer.

      The times that Moses did this was to intercede for his people for example after the sin of the golden calf where Moses and Aaron fell on their face. But could you provide a passage where they do it simply for themselves. The problem I see is that actually this behavior as a normal event makes the God of Israel seem like a petty tyrant that Is focused on how much we bow down to him and actually that doesn't make God look good.

    Exodus 3:5 is very similar to Taha 20:12 in the Quran.
    (I seek refuge in Allah)
    "20:10: When he saw a fire and said to his family, "Stay here; indeed, I have perceived a fire; perhaps I can bring you a torch or find at the fire some guidance.
    20:11: And when he came to it, he was called, "O Moses,
    20:12: Indeed, I am your Lord, so remove your sandals. Indeed, you are in the sacred valley of Tuwa."
    20:13: And I have chosen you, so listen to what is revealed [to you].
    20:14: Indeed, I am Allah . There is no deity except Me, so worship Me and establish prayer for My remembrance.
    P.S. According to the Quran all the prophets from Abraham to Moses, from David to Jesus from Solomon to Muhammad (peace be upon them all) all submitted to Allah i.e. they were Muslims (Muslim means someone who submits to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala).
    So Muslims didn't borrow anything from Jews. Prostration was always there from the first man and prophet Adam (peace be upon him).
    Salam.

      This could be dandy, but there is a difference between the Quran's perception of history and historical fact where the development of Abrahamic religions is concerned. Adam (the first man) had no religion as is seen in the Jewish Bible (the only reliable source on the matter), notwithstanding the Quran's revisionist claims.
