*BEAUTIFUL WAFFLE STITCH PONCHO 💝!* I absolutely love it 😊💝!!! The Lion Brand yarn that Georgina gifted to you looks awesome with your Poncho Pattern Design 💝!!! I was watching the video last night of you opening your Happy Mail from Georgina & that Table Runner was ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL 💝!!! I know how emotional that you must have felt & I couldn't help but cry with you because my precious Mama use to crochet Doily's & she put so much time & love into every project she created. But I have never seen anything as beautiful as your Table Runner that Georgina made & especially with letters 💝!!! You are an Amazing Artist, Designer,, Etc.! When I go through & watch your Tutorial's, I am always amazed with your projects & your creations 😊💝! God Bless & thank you for sharing your amazing talent & inspiration with so many of us 😊✝💝!!!

I defied your recommendation on yarn suggestion. I bought caron latte cakes, with the intention on making a waffle stich blanket. I already used this yarn for a different gift following your 3d stich shawl , and loved the result that I made myself one. When I decided to start my blanket I recalled that you had this poncho and decided that for the person I was making the gift for a poncho would be a better fit than a blanket. I have finished using 2 cakes and have one to go and it is absolutely perfect and so squishy.

I absolutely love this. I had this colorway so I am making mine the same as yours. As for you digressing....plz continue to do so. I love the extra tidbits you give us and your personal taste on these things. Some of us are still pretty new to crochet (just over a year) and really appreciate you sharing your knowledge. It really helps especially when it comes to choosing colors. I have varigated yarns that I bought that I have no idea what to make with it because its beautiful but it has very short color changes. Thanks again!

This pattern is exactly what I was looking for, in the weight of yarn I wanted to work with! Kudos for giving the other starting chain numbers. I needed 56 starting chains for my narrow shoulders. Was tired of so many poncho patterns having really wide openings that slipped off my shoulders. I’m doing mine without the turtleneck and in Caron Skinny Cakes. Thank you so much for doing this tutorial!

Wow, FS! Beautiful poncho! I love the waffle stitch. It’s one of my favorites. Thank you so much for the tutorial! I think I will make this for my mom. She has muscle contractures in her arms so it is really difficult to get a jacket/coat on and this would be perfect. I have made her one of your shawls for the not so cold weather, but, with this stitch, this would be perfect for the winter. This is awesome! I think that color way looks gorgeous, btw. It’s like wearing a blanket poncho. Cozy.

I am so glad I came around this video. I just recently learned the waffle stitch and made a hat. I was working on a matching scarf but came across your poncho. Needless to say, I frogged the scarf and started your poncho. In the collar you used a chain 2 as a filler. I have never done that before, but loved how it looks. I will be remembering that one for future projects. I also ended up tweaking your pattern a bit. I really didn't like how the beginning of each row looked for me after each round. So I figured out a way to start each round without having to turn my work. Thank you for such a wonderful pattern and explaining how to adjust the size.

Initial chain no. reasoning: Each side must be a multiple of 3, and because you have two matching sides, you multiply that by 2. Then you need an additional stitch at the end and one at the middle for the increases/points.

I can't remember where I heard it but if you need to make a lot of chain stitches you can chain about 10 then take the hook out of that chain and slip the hook in the first chain then put back the chain you were on, keep making the amount of chains you need and when you get to the last chain you need you just slip through the chain you put on your hook and there you have it, no twists. hope I have explained it so you can understand, it works really nice. Love you and your posts!!!

Mikey from the crochet crowd says this but I learnt it from my Grandma as she did alot of thread crochet and she did this to keep her crochet rings from twisting.
