    They should sponsor you, you make beautiful things with their yarn. Maybe if they sponsor you you'll get some of their yarn sent to you when they come out with new colors. Keep up the good work teaching us how to make beautiful things we can share with others

    I've been knitting socks since I was 5 years old and I'm a senior citizen now. I crocheted, too, but never made much more than a wash rag or dish towel, nothing with much shaping. Thought I couldn't do it. Well, thanks to you, the best crochet teacher on You Tube, I have made several of your diamond shawls for grateful recipients and now I'm learning this one using Lion Brand Flikka which is a cotton/acrylic blend. You're amazing and this old lady thanks you!

    Oh my! That is the exact yarn (the mandala genie) I had bought to make a shawl for my daughter. I was just waiting for the perfect pattern, and here it is! Going to pick out one of your lovely stories and get going. Thank you for your time and wonderful site! Wanted to add, I’ll be making one of your shawl pins to go along with it😉.
    Update. Going with “The Secret Garden”. Perfect.

    I love the ease of this pattern. I do a lot of computer work so I keep a project by my desk when I need a break. I've done many waffle and basket weave patterns before and this is by far the most fun I've had with either. Thank you Spider!!! My 2 cents .... if you are new to crocheting and the waffle pattern, start with the lighter color in the Mandala and not the dark. You'll be able to see the pattern much easier and have the pattern's rhythm down by the time you get to the darker part of the yarn.

I don't know if you are familiar with this yarn, but I bought it a few years ago from Herrschners on clearance and Premiere no longer makes it. I have 3 3.5 oz balls, so I hope it's enough. So far it's working up lovely. I love all your patterns and you are very thorough. Keep up the good work.

    He was really cute about this tutorial. It's funny because as long as I have been doing the waffle stitch for varies projects never did it click why it was called that until I watched this. Great job with explaining, making it fun and just talking as calmly as you always do. I have heard tutorials where people are yelling to her their point across and I just don't think that gives the calm feeling crocheting is suppose to have. Thanks a lot look forward to another.

    I'm not sure I would be able to achieve a shawl with this stitch. My crochet tension is poor and everything tends to be very rigid. I struggle with large hook sizes (anything above a 4mm really) and my hands feel like I'm attempting to crochet with a telegraph pole! Maybe I could crochet a carpet 😂. But I'm going to have to give it a go. ❤

    • @RainbowWrangler
      @RainbowWrangler 3 месяца назад

      If you are finding it too tight on ur tension, consider making extended doubles for your front post doubles. Do a normal double but after going behind the post yarn over pul through 1 loop then yarn over pull through 2 yarn over pull through 2 like a normal double. That will help the Waffle relax a little without adding height to the row❤

    I have like 6 cakes of that color yarn. I can make one of these. I love super easy patterns. I always use a slightly larger hook because my stitches are always too tight.
