I used Red Heart Super Saver Ombre yarn. This is a 100% acrylic yarn in the color called cocoa. I used two full balls and they are 482 yards each. Of course if you want to make that longer you're going to need more yarn. You can just keep going on the rows until it fits you correctly ponchos are easy to adjust to any size the more rows you do the larger it becomes. Any medium weight 4 will work. The hook size i'm gonna be using today is a size j which is a 6MM crochet hook. Let's do this! Happy Crocheting!!

You take the difficulty out of crocheting by not having to read a pattern. Thank you. All that is left is fun and the satisfaction out of the end product. The pattern is so attractive as is all your ponchos.

Funny story: I started making this the day you posted the video, and got about halfway done with it. Then I got distracted and started making something else (probably another Bag-O-Day pattern) and I put this poncho away. Well, a couple days ago, my daughter and I were trying to organize my craft room (again) and I found this half-finished poncho in a box with other WIP's. I KNEW it was a "Crystal pattern", but I could not remember which one. I had tagged it with the yarn used and the hook, but not the pattern name. Then TODAY, this video came up on my recommended list, and BOOM there it was!!! I knew immediately this was the one! So now I'm finishing it, LOL! 💜

I love how you show us the measurements and the yardage you use. It is so helpful! I also like how you show a super-close-up of what you are doing. I’ve been crocheting for maybe a year and a half. I’ve come a long way but sometimes it’s still hard to tell where a particular stitch should go. You’re a good teacher. I’ve had some great “ah hah” moments where I learn some basic thing that I can apply to another project. I found your channel in a roundabout way. I was shopping on the Hobbii site. There was a yarn I loved and wasn’t sure what colors I wanted or what to make. There were lots and lots of pictures of things people made. There were a few I liked that mentioned they used a pattern from Bag O Day crochet. That’s when I found your channel and subscribed. I thought you might want to know that! Thank you for all your videos.🤗

I love the way these red heart ombré colors work up on this pattern. What I didn’t like, is the heavy drape, in the front of this poncho. I used “true blue”, and it is gorgeous! I recently lost over 20 pounds, and this is huge on me. I love it so much, I am going to keep it, and gift it, to someone special. For myself, I am going to make the shawl in several of the colors of ombré, the apple green, pink, and teal, maybe. You know what would be really pretty in this pattern, is the hickory ombré! That color is hard to find, but gorgeous! Thank you, Crystal, for giving us another great pattern, and being so generous and loving. Much love, and Blessings to you! 🕊💕🕯😇🙏🏻💚

I made this poncho when you did the smaller cowel version (I thinknyou called it a shawl). I used some "princess" yarn from the Dollar Tree. Yeah, I'm not sure what the yarn weight is but my guess is between a 2 and 3 and I used 2 strands together because it felt soft and beautiful and created a lovely marled look!
Might have to make this one again. It was a lot of fun
