I purchased the 11" Pro (traded in my 11" M1 model). I absolutely love it. I'm not a pro/power user but it is my only 'computer' (it has been for the last 4 years and it does everything I need) so I wanted the best option for myself. No regrets whatsoever!!
I don’t think people should gatekeep “unless you edit video on your iPad you don’t need this” uh who asked you? It’s a luxury device. You don’t NEED it at all. But if you want it and can afford it buy it! That’s like making a review of ice cream and saying “it’s an amazing flavor but you don’t need it. only get it if your blood sugar is super low and you need to get it up quickly. Otherwise have some broccoli and grilled chicken”
Yeah but it’s your choice on what you wanna use it on! I had the Pro 11” M1 and wanted a bigger screen, better display, and better speakers, so I went with the Pro 13” M4. Loving it!
Thanks Alex! My relationship has been love to hate to love. I've tried it as a stand alone computer, I've tried it with the Magic Keyboard. I am now using it as I think Steve Jobs intended it. A hand held device that compliments my MBP and fills the gap between the phone and laptop. I have no expectations for any giant changes to iPadOS at WWDC. Regardless of what they do, it doesn't matter. With my new M4 11, minus the expensive keyboard, I'm back to love. It's brilliant for what I use the iPad for, light work, browsing and watching content.
I think that is a healthy approach to things... I spend the last 2-3 years complaining about it, but I just gave up in the end. For my use if I want to be productive I still grab the S9 ultra, but for fun and messing around with video/graphics I will probably use the iPad
I notice in every review video how the iPad vibrates and wobbles in the “magic” keyboard. I personally can’t think why anyone with a laptop would want to type on their iPad. I simply don’t believe the typing experience on the Magic Keyboard is good enough to make me want to use it instead of my laptop. The laptop screen is bigger, the trackpad is bigger and better and the keyboard is wider. I agree with your use case for an iPad 👍
+1 to the honesty. 60Hz is so jarring for people who are used to 90+ on other devices and yet every single RUclips video glosses over this. I’ll be you $1 none of those RUclipsrs use a 60Hz device except the iPad mini lovers who have no other choice.
What would you recommend. An Macbook Air 16GB Ram or iPad Pro or Galaxy Book 4 non Pro for Budged or an S9+ for normal home Use like using a NAS or RUclips or small office tasks?
Tricky one, but depends on what you do. The MacBook Air with 16GB is what I have and I love that laptop. Same goes for the Book. But if all you do is not really that demanding, then the iPad or Tab would both be good. iPad if you want more polished tablet apps, Tab if you want more productivity. Hope this helps 👊🏼

ask yourself if you prefer the 120 hz pro motion screen with mini LED (much smoother and the blacks will be darker). On the other hand, new air supports the new pencil which might be something to consider - check out the functions.

Hi there! I think it really depends on what you will do with it. In short, my rule of thumb is: If you are a graphic designer or someone who really values that display for your work then the M2 iPad Pro will be your best bet. If you are using the iPad for lightweight tasks like content consumption and basic admin and the odd gaming, then the iPad Air will do - with a little caveat: If you have a recent smartphone that has 120Hz display (Promotion on iPhones) then I'd say try the air in store first, especially for reading articles and scrolling on socials, because there is definitely a noticeable difference in the smoothness.

I would have bought the 11 inch ipad air if the display was not 60hz. I added up the cost of the new ipad pro plus the keyboard and pencil and i went to buy the galaxy tab s9 instead. It comes with the pen, a tray to expand the storage, and a 120 hz oled screen. I just wanted it for drawing, multi-tasking, and even more portable gamimg than what my 17 inch gaming laptop can do.

Good comparisons, and it's about the user ability of the ipad and the still lack of utilising chipsets. I completely agree with you on storage costs.I remember apple was all about using cloud for storage...what happened to all the blurb.. Acasis Giveaway.

People need to study economics to understand Apple's business model. They charge high for SSD upgrades to subsidise a lower base price. As most would assume, those who can afford to pay the high prices for storage upgrades have high disposable income and are likely professionals who will make their money back. If they charged half the price for storage upgrades, that would reduce their average net margin, assuming the status quo on the demand curve. That would translate to Apple needing to raise the prices across the board to reflect that loss, which will have a knock-on effect on demand-side pricing; higher base prices reduce demand (price sensitivity), and the unintentional consequences of that decision will bring a self-destructive cycle.

Acasis giveaway! Hello,in your opinion, which one is better ipad air 13 or ipad pro m1 12.9? I am not creator or anything I'm just a student so i will be using it for note taking,studying,media consumption and some gaming what will be better 120hz but with m1,bluetooth 5 (idon't care a lot about the other difference)or m2 and blu5.3 but 60hz? I have glaxy s21ultra, so will i miss the high refresh rate on the air in studying and gaming or the m2 Make it more snappy and not that crucial?
I will consider new iPad, when mobile Division game come. Currently my main tablet is S8+, but have iPad 9.gen too, but mostly unused. If I will buy new iPad, then most probably M2 Air or, maybe, used M2 Pro for similar price. But, who knows :) Acasis Giveaway sounds great, I can take care of one :)

I never understood the purpose of iPad. My first and last iPad was in 2012. Though I bought a couple for my kids later, but they already moved on to PCs. So, none in my family needs an iPad. Good points Alex, as usual. Thanks for your video.

Thanks for the review. One thing that really annoys me is the way in which Apple reserves that 4th core and 16GB for the 1TB model. Like you, I don’t want to be paying for 1TB. I don’t need 1TB. But, given that I do a fair amount of video editing, I would stump up for the additional RAM - but not at £700. Oh, and Acasis Giveaway :)

I suspect Apple is binning the M4 for iPhones and iPads to differentiate the line. So, I suspect that the iPhone 15 Pros will have non-binned CPUs, and the iPhone 15 base will have binned CPUs. Apple has to work out a massive business model strategy, which will sometimes appear unfair.
So the 256 you missed out on one feature and able to record in 4K using pro something…….. It’s on Apple’s website I forgot what it’s called but it’s a specific feature that they have if you don’t have 512, so I think it’s it’s only using one nan chip. But after what they did in WWDC, I totally understand why you didn’t have super by the iPad and anybody else that didn’t for that reason. If you. Feel youuuuuuu
Yeah - same story with Mac mini in 8GB 256GB and MacBook Air. I refuse to pay extra for stuff I will rarely need. But in the MacBook Pro I went 64GB RAM and 2TB because that’s my main workhorse
@@AlexGTech i’ve been looking for the benchmarks where the 512 specifically so I believe it’s very similar to a case we experience with the M2 when they use one man chip and gas slower results whenever taxing task came into play.

Acasis Giveaway! I think the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra is better - you get the S-Pen with it. However, if I wanted to be more productive, I would opt for a PC based tablet. I don't see the point of the iPad Pro when users can purchase a Macbook Air.

Having both the Tab S8 Ultra and the iPad Pro M1, the iPad is miles ahead. But that is reflective of my needs, being in the Apple ecosystem and because Android offers nothing above what I need for an iPad. Each to their own...

Pay through the nose... 🤣 Yep, that sums up being an Apple user perfectly. That little fruit logo is very expensive! I like your statement about being productive with these things. Sure, the ipad is fine if you are going to play on social media and watch RUclips. From my experience, I've found Android tablets to be much more reliable when multi-tasking, editing spreadsheets, and writing reports when I'm out in the field at construction sites. Oh, and Apple's pencil? I've lost at least three of those. They really need to come up with a better way of keeping that thing attached to the tablet.
These Pros are targeting people that can afford them. Obviously they are not aimed at everybody, so your point is unfair and a bit of agenda-driven anti-Apple rhetoric. We get it, you hate Apple...move on and buy something that works for you.

I'm a fan of Samsung, but there's nothing to say, this year, in terms of hardware, the iPad Pro M4s are too far above the Galaxy Tab S9, but are unfortunately still kept on a leash and restricted by iPad-OS 🤦🏽♂️ Samsung clearly needs to wake up, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in the Tab S10 will be unacceptable, we need a Snapdragon X Elite and a thunderbolt port to be able to continue to compete and above all justify the price of the Tab S10. PS: also, Samsung must manage to allow “Windows for ARM” to boot on its Tab S10, or at least bring back Linux for Galaxy. Otherwise, all this power is for nothing, and my Tab S7+ still has many, many many good days ahead of it. 🚶🏽♂️🚶🏽♂️🚶🏽♂️
great point on processor but I do wonder if Samsung will start (if not already) falling in the same trap and not focus on better apps. I know in the android tablet space this is even more outside their control, in comparison to iPadOS apps, but more needs to be done on the quality of apps. Dex is awesome, but I still find issues in some Android tablet apps that we just don't see in the iPad version. Most of the popular apps are ok, but there's a few quirks here and there. And definitely agree on that that Tab S7+, in fact that series was the one I regretted NOT buying! In the end I waited for the Tab S8U and to be fair didn't need the S9U for what I do, only marginal gains
@AlexGTech Indeed, Samsung may fall into the 'hardware for hardware's sake' trap, but clearly the Tab S needs a quantum leap in hardware. Just as no one accepts and would accept that Google sells its Pixel 8 Pro (with Tensor G3) at the same price as an S24 Ultra or iPhone 15 Pro Max, no one should accept Tab S10 with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 sold at Same price as iPad Pro M4 or Surface 10 Pro 🤷🏽♂️ Regarding applications, that's why I say that Samsung should think about an Android/Microsoft for ARM dual boot, above all, Samsung should think about doing it before Apple does it. 🙏🏽
The facts are clear: The iPad Pro is a significantly better device than the upcoming Tab S10 Ultra, which will likely run an Exynos 2400 in many regions. So, performance-wise, the M4 is street ahead. The iPad Pro OLED is undeniably better, with more excellent brightness and twice the longevity. Apps on iPadOS and games are also superior and have more choices. The claim that Android tablets are better is just wrong. The differences are more nuanced. Android is open source, so it is more customizable. Tablets are cheaper because they have inferior hardware and software, and many people in the Samsung ecosystem will just default to a Galaxy Tab. The Galaxy Tab S Ultra will not be having an X-Plus chip for at least 18 months but rumours suggest Samsung will go all-in on Exynos. As for dual-booting Windows, Samsung tried Windows tablets and lost billions; only a few people wanted them. They have even stopped Linux as they understand that a tablet is best as a tablet.

Put sellotape on the edge of the keyboard. its transparent and no teed to wait for someone to come up with an expensive protection skin.

Was going to get the air but I know I'll regret not getting the OLED screen. Do want the Ipad in blue though, decisions decisions!

The Galaxy Tab S line has been earmarked for the Exynos 2400 in my region. There is no sign of any Android tablet with the X chip coming in 2024.

Good comparisons, and it's about the user ability of the ipad and the still lack of utilising chipsets. I completely agree with you on storage costs.I remember apple was all about using cloud for storage...what happened to all the blurb..

People need to study economics to understand Apple's business model. They charge high for SSD upgrades to subsidise a lower base price. As most would assume, those who can afford to pay the high prices for storage upgrades have high disposable income and are likely professionals who will make their money back. If they charged half the price for storage upgrades, that would reduce their average net margin, assuming the status quo on the demand curve. That would translate to Apple needing to raise the prices across the board to reflect that loss, which will have a knock-on effect on demand-side pricing; higher base prices reduce demand (price sensitivity), and the unintentional consequences of that decision will bring a self-destructive cycle.

Hello,in your opinion, which one is better ipad air 13 or ipad pro m1 12.9?
I am not creator or anything I'm just a student so i will be using it for note taking,studying,media consumption and some gaming
what will be better 120hz but with m1,bluetooth 5 (idon't care a lot about the other difference)or m2 and blu5.3 but 60hz?
I have glaxy s21ultra, so will i miss the high refresh rate on the air in studying and gaming or the m2 Make it more snappy and not that crucial?
I will consider new iPad, when mobile Division game come. Currently my main tablet is S8+, but have iPad 9.gen too, but mostly unused. If I will buy new iPad, then most probably M2 Air or, maybe, used M2 Pro for similar price. But, who knows :)

Thank you! Yes, I can imagine. I think if the budget allows and what you are studying relies on that extra power, then the Pro will give you that longevity. But having M2 on the Air is pretty awesome and I think I will find it hard to make it sweat, based on my previous M2 iPad videos

I never understood the purpose of iPad. My first and last iPad was in 2012. Though I bought a couple for my kids later, but they already moved on to PCs. So, none in my family needs an iPad. Good points Alex, as usual. Thanks for your video.
Thank you! I do love the format and I think Steve Jobs had a great vision for it. Somewhere between that and now Apple lost it a bit. Thanks for the review. One thing that really annoys me is the way in which Apple reserves that 4th core and 16GB for the 1TB model. Like you, I don’t want to be paying for 1TB. I don’t need 1TB. But, given that I do a fair amount of video editing, I would stump up for the additional RAM - but not at £700.

I suspect Apple is binning the M4 for iPhones and iPads to differentiate the line. So, I suspect that the iPhone 15 Pros will have non-binned CPUs, and the iPhone 15 base will have binned CPUs. Apple has to work out a massive business model strategy, which will sometimes appear unfair.
So the 256 you missed out on one feature and able to record in 4K using pro something…….. It’s on Apple’s website I forgot what it’s called but it’s a specific feature that they have if you don’t have 512, so I think it’s it’s only using one nan chip. But after what they did in WWDC, I totally understand why you didn’t have super by the iPad and anybody else that didn’t for that reason. If you. Feel youuuuuuu
Yeah - same story with Mac mini in 8GB 256GB and MacBook Air. I refuse to pay extra for stuff I will rarely need. But in the MacBook Pro I went 64GB RAM and 2TB because that’s my main workhorse
@@AlexGTech i’ve been looking for the benchmarks where the 512 specifically so I believe it’s very similar to a case we experience with the M2 when they use one man chip and gas slower results whenever taxing task came into play.

Acasis Giveaway! I think the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra is better - you get the S-Pen with it. However, if I wanted to be more productive, I would opt for a PC based tablet. I don't see the point of the iPad Pro when users can purchase a Macbook Air.

Pay through the nose... 🤣 Yep, that sums up being an Apple user perfectly. That little fruit logo is very expensive! I like your statement about being productive with these things. Sure, the ipad is fine if you are going to play on social media and watch RUclips. From my experience, I've found Android tablets to be much more reliable when multi-tasking, editing spreadsheets, and writing reports when I'm out in the field at construction sites. Oh, and Apple's pencil? I've lost at least three of those. They really need to come up with a better way of keeping that thing attached to the tablet.
These Pros are targeting people that can afford them. Obviously they are not aimed at everybody, so your point is unfair and a bit of agenda-driven anti-Apple rhetoric. We get it, you hate Apple...move on and buy something that works for you.

I'm a fan of Samsung, but there's nothing to say, this year, in terms of hardware, the iPad Pro M4s are too far above the Galaxy Tab S9, but are unfortunately still kept on a leash and restricted by iPad-OS 🤦🏽♂️
Samsung clearly needs to wake up, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in the Tab S10 will be unacceptable, we need a Snapdragon X Elite and a thunderbolt port to be able to continue to compete and above all justify the price of the Tab S10.
PS: also, Samsung must manage to allow “Windows for ARM” to boot on its Tab S10, or at least bring back Linux for Galaxy.
Otherwise, all this power is for nothing, and my Tab S7+ still has many, many many good days ahead of it.

great point on processor but I do wonder if Samsung will start (if not already) falling in the same trap and not focus on better apps. I know in the android tablet space this is even more outside their control, in comparison to iPadOS apps, but more needs to be done on the quality of apps. Dex is awesome, but I still find issues in some Android tablet apps that we just don't see in the iPad version. Most of the popular apps are ok, but there's a few quirks here and there. And definitely agree on that that Tab S7+, in fact that series was the one I regretted NOT buying! In the end I waited for the Tab S8U and to be fair didn't need the S9U for what I do, only marginal gains
@AlexGTech Indeed, Samsung may fall into the 'hardware for hardware's sake' trap, but clearly the Tab S needs a quantum leap in hardware.
Just as no one accepts and would accept that Google sells its Pixel 8 Pro (with Tensor G3) at the same price as an S24 Ultra or iPhone 15 Pro Max, no one should accept Tab S10 with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 sold at Same price as iPad Pro M4 or Surface 10 Pro 🤷🏽♂️
Regarding applications, that's why I say that Samsung should think about an Android/Microsoft for ARM dual boot, above all, Samsung should think about doing it before Apple does it.

The facts are clear: The iPad Pro is a significantly better device than the upcoming Tab S10 Ultra, which will likely run an Exynos 2400 in many regions. So, performance-wise, the M4 is street ahead. The iPad Pro OLED is undeniably better, with more excellent brightness and twice the longevity. Apps on iPadOS and games are also superior and have more choices.
The claim that Android tablets are better is just wrong. The differences are more nuanced. Android is open source, so it is more customizable. Tablets are cheaper because they have inferior hardware and software, and many people in the Samsung ecosystem will just default to a Galaxy Tab.
The Galaxy Tab S Ultra will not be having an X-Plus chip for at least 18 months but rumours suggest Samsung will go all-in on Exynos. As for dual-booting Windows, Samsung tried Windows tablets and lost billions; only a few people wanted them. They have even stopped Linux as they understand that a tablet is best as a tablet.
