I actually talked to the guy who voice acted the main 3 in Sonic GT on Discord, He's really neat and he's improved his impressions of Sonic and Shadow by a lot (plus he even voice acted a meme I did)

Played Sonic Time Twisted, just really *CANNOT* fail to feel inspiration from the level of creativity. Sonic fangames are a must that not only every Sonic fan, but every game *MUST* give a shot!
Regarding Virtua Sonic and your attempts at VR SA2, I've got a couple suspicions why City Escape didn't work as well. First of all, while Virtua Sonic doesn't have you run in place, all of your motions seem to shift your center of balance in the same direction that you're trying to get Sonic to go. You lunge your arms back for a Homing Attack, you're already facing the direction you want to go and you tend to subconsciously thrust your chest forward when you throw your arms back. This set of movements helps to prevent motion sickness. When DolphinVR was first a thing, a lot of people praised Metroid Prime 3 as being almost as though it was designed for VR, and having a noticable lack of motion sickness. The leading theory is that the visor overlay gives you something for your peripheral vision to rest on, and it helps prevent motion sickness from the disconnect of your body staying still yet your eyes telling you that you're moving. Notice how all of your major actions have the SpinBall effect placed on you to simulate Sonic's rolling or jumping? I'll bet you anything that effect doubles as a motion sickness preventative measure. If there's a way to place a similar overlay on your screen when you press the jump button on the controller, and if you used a jogging-in-place motion when you moved (I recommend VRocker, it actually converts jogging-in-place into in-game movement for any game. It's a paid program, though, but it is pretty cheap.), I'll bet that SA2 would work a lot better. Not to mention that you'd be using a traditional controller most likely, so you're probably not going to break anything from arm movements. Now we just need somebody to make a program to just place that overlay on the screen in front of the game when it detects a button press, and run that program at the same time as the SA2 game just like programs like Joy2Key or XPadder.
jesus, this makes a lot of sense. i remember during development SS68 told me how the levels are designed to avoid you getting tangled in your wires, but i never considered all the other little touches like you mentioned
I feel like the Bullet Dash makes much more sense in 3D than in 2D, since it can be used as a type of air dash/homing attack that you can aim, and which you only have a small amount of time to use or else you hit the ground.
I just finished playing the demo for Sonic Galactic. The game runs pretty well on most systems, and it shouldn't be an issue to run for laptop owners, as long as they have a powerful system, like a HP. Its short, but the replayability of the roster is an opportunity too redundant to not experiment with. The animations are fab, the game proves a pretty good challenge, and the music is superb. Looking forward to the finished product, definitely have my eyes open for more fan games. :)
Hey Sonic The Hedgehog fans out there, you guys should make a fan-made Sonic Galactic 2D animated prologue call: Sonic Galactic Prologue and the quality of Sonic Galactic Prologue needs to be flat-out incredible to behold than your usual low-budgeted fan-made projects these days, it'll, beyond a shadow of a doubt, make all of you Sonic fans out there shed a tear at the exact same time!

Sure, the Bullet Dash from Junio exists, but that's in the realm of overpowered imo. Maybe I just like it because it's like the homing attack but it requires skill, or maybe I just really liked Smash 4.

i recommend Star Buster, it’s a cool 2d shooter that takes place in space with an amazing sound track and a nice little weapon system that really adds to the gameplay. and the characters are amazing and unique with a robotic rabbit (i think dont quote me on that please) that has an endless dash ability that only stops when you hit a wall or let go of the button, and a cyborg lizard girl that can grapple and swing around, her controls are a bit difficult to get used to but there is a controller set up in the settings. the story is unique and amazing.
I hope you make more of these fangame videos because this is really great to see. I haven't heard of any of these games except for Sonic Freedom, so this was a really nice dive into Sonic fangames for me. Your commentary is, of course, awesome as usual. I hope your stream is available somewhere on RUclips because I definitely want to check it out.

i CANT imagine the VR sonic... i get EXTREMELY motion sick and fall forward if i just move an inch forward, so that would just be impossible for me to play
1: I really hope you try out Crumble 2: If you like new layouts of old stages, try out the Sonic World/Blitz Sonic modding community. Sonic Journey lets you do that with less automation and a lot more breakage, but you can fix it by changing spring power levels in the Stage.xml file. They even remixed remixes and even made remixes of original levels made for the game in the first place! You will have to move the start point forward on the Z axis a lot, if you want to get anywhere.
Vector in Chaotix basically had DAD, but it was instant. Don't know if it'd make it better, it seems DAD in that fan game gives you extra time to think so maybe it's not that bad.
I will say, I do think trial and error gameplay can be done good... but it's the sort of thing where if you're going to introduce something new to a stage, don't introduce it in such a way that it can kill you easily the first time you encounter it. So the player can see them, see what they do, but aren't in any real danger of getting completely blindsided and killed.

Dolphin VR has free cam. I can't tell you the key bindings (i don't remember) but all I did was fly my camera into Sonic's head.
