    I can’t believe we’re the same age. I didn’t have a great childhood but nothing compared to my fellow sister in Christ. I’ve listened in her testimony so many times. Praise the Lord for saving her. And I pray God continues to use her.

    I love Yeonmi. Shes a strong, smart, freedom loving, Jesus following woman. Her testimony is powerful and her voice is a powerful tool in the fight against evil. God bless her and her family.

      Found the lord? She just explained how his son is to the people of North Korea and how his great grandson runs the country now and you want her to look for his father????
      I think it's safe to say the man she believed to be God's son was not true but she'd never know if she was still in that world. So what lord are you asking about if she's found? The one you might have been lied to who's son is whatever you believe.....? We won't know until we escape our north korea won't we....

    Yeonmi has a great story. It really helps me appreciate all the blessings I have in America! She also is a great example of giving God credit for the good and only blaming evil men for the evil.

    Wow.. she has it together! Im impressed. Not only working backwards against extreme indoctrination, but she’s progressed farther than most scholarly minded people here in western society, and recognizes the propaganda and decline of comprehension and western culture.. im became fully aware of her intelligence at her statements around the 58 min mark… just the way she had dissected and acknowledged the problem and root causes of the consequences. Im super impressed! I will definitely read her book! God Bless her

    I appreciate this ministry, and I am very sympathetic to the needs to raise funds to run it. At the same time, I am 7 minutes into this video, and I'm hearing my 5th advert. It's just a little hard to focus on the story with this many ads this frequent. This seems to be a newer thing. Don't mean to put down the hsrd work yoy put inti this, just sharing my thoughts as a long time listener and supporter or Apologia Studios. ❤

    Yeonmi Park is brilliant, and a true American hero. I'm a proud supporter and pray for her success and safety, for her message about the victims of Communism in North Korea and around the world, and for her warning to the 'free world' of leftist creep and control, especially in education, and now in all facets of life, as we lose those freedoms. Thank you, Yeonmi.

    i wish somebody who has watched a lot of yeonmi's interview could make a video of her inconsistent stories, timelines, on what happened, etc. im guessing there are errors in some of her stories due to how old she was when it happened. or her english mastery is not yet up to par.
    im not doubting on what happened to yeonmi. i just want consistency.

    Anything that YeonMi puts out I absorb like photosynthesis. As a Korean American, I often find myself asking if I’m doing enough to advocate for the tragedies going on in the Koreas and what’s happening in America currently. I admire YeonMi immensely for who she is and what she continues to do

    I’m curious to know who were those missionaries that helped her but told her she was very sinful because of what she had done……she expressed she felt the worse and very unworthy but didn’t hate them for that because they were the only group of people that gave helped her. I heard this when she was interviewed by Jordan Peterson ….

      It’s good to keep in mind these missionaries risk severe religious persecution working in China and North Korea. It’s a life and death situation to do their work every day and a very different mentality and and world
      in comparison.

      Better to strong arm someone into a weaker faith than if you would've been gentler to build a stronger faith if the situation dictates that you may be executed tomorrow.
      A rough edged gospel delivered in time to bring salvation before death beats an eloquent sermon cut short by gunfire

    She needs to be careful with the names, name dropping nowadays is dangerous. These people do not care if you know or who knows it, just don’t mention their name. I pray this woman is protected by our Heavenly Father, all these comments about we must ‘protect so & so’ but we need to protect THIS woman, she’s been there and done it, and still fights against it after sitting at the table of the enemy. I pray God continues to use her, and has his hedge of protection and the blood of Jesus is covering her! Amen

    To the people who think this isn't true - read what other defectors have written about N Korea. What she says is her story and experiences, but it's totally in line with what the others said.
    I told my husband there no electricity, food, freedom etc in N Korea. Years later he somehow saw that photo of NK at night and was surprised. Apparently he thought it was exaggerated. It's not.

      Short answer, she probably gets speaking fees and makes money from the sale of her books. She's also married to an American, so I assume they share financial responsibilities.

      I think so. I know she did a discipleship training school with YWAM a while back. I think she sort of left her faith for a bit based on some things she said in her videos. But I remember a couple of her videos she said a few things that made it sound like she was searching for spiritual truth again. It sounds like some sort of miracle happened with her son and that lead her back to the Lord.

    This did seem to be a little bit Jesus-light episode of Cultish. I love Yeonmi and she has an amazing story and North Korea is a giant cult compound. But i just felt like this interview really kind of re-tread the issues that I've heard her talk about before on her own channel and in other interviews. It wasn't bad as interviews go, but i didn't feel like the kingdom of the Cults with the Word of God this episode (although the super sleuth tried...)

      I heard the interview being redirected by Andrew (I think that's his name?) and the other guy back to God, but Yeonmi was more focused on earthly government and her personal experience. It happens, but I don't think it was the interviewers fault.

    It's crazy how they ask how this was possible and if they believe in some kind of God that would have I guess not made this possible if they did or Idk but it's scary and easy to see when she explains about how they are taught to think him as GOD'S SON is what plays a huge roll in all this and for them to just take it in and not have no internal mental process spark in their head as to question their own beliefs at all for just one tiny moment

I haven't listened to this podcast just yet but I am familiar with Yeonmi Park and I share very similar sentiments with her. America is being shifted into the left neomarxistic postmodernizational socialism. We need our Trump back asap. Not because Trump is the one that will take us to the promiseland as we all know that he is not.. but he is the only one that we have that will make attempt to eradicate the left which is what we need.

      The Kim Dynasty stole Holy Scripture from the people, studied it, and borrowed ideas from it to present Kim Il Song as some sort of messianic figure. The Kim's put the "cult" in "cult of personality"

      Why does it seem too much to be true? Do you not remember that American college kid who was tortured to death for stealing a north Korean flag about 8 year's ago? Or the fact that North Korea is almost completely black compared to South Korea or China from an aerial view?

      ​ I have read both journalistic and autobiographical stories regarding North Korea and starvation, brainwashing, extreme poverty, political imprisonment, deification of "Dear Leader," and the complete ban of Bibles certainly affirm that her story is not unlikely. And she is not the only woman who escapes to China only to become property of a man in China. As to how young she looks, it could be a filter or even surgery. South Koreans are among the greatest consumers of plastic surgery. I'm not saying that is her situation, only that there isn't as much of a stigma in Korean culture. She may also look younger because she is very petite due to growing up malnourished. Petite people can seem more yourhful than a tall person.

    Yeonmi is not Christian but popular among conservative crowd on youtube. You guys are confusing politics for faith which undermines your credibility in doing God's work. I really like Yeonmi Park. She's probably the smartest person in the room or in any conversation 99% of the time. I have done volunteer work in China helping North Koreans but seeing Apologia devolve into popularism is disappointing.

      I could not disagree more. Non-Christians could be searching for interviews with people popular in the online conservative/"non-woke" sphere who are not necessarily Christian (like Yeonmi) and then be exposed to Apologia's Christian channel when the interview turns up in the search. That could lead to open-minded non-Christians exploring the faith.

      I was hoping to hear about her faith and whether she had genuine faith. I thought Apologia would go there as they normally do, but I wonder whether it was a case of being "star-struck" so that they prioritised the wrong questions. It reminds me to be clearer about the Gospel and not to let partiality get in the way of the truth about someone's salvation.

    This is why I definitely don't take this series seriously. This woman is known to grossly exaggerate things so that she can attract a far far right audience.
    The fact that they'd just have her on and act like she's a credible source of information is just sad. But I guess if someone agrees with the cultish crew then that's all they need.

      She is not known to exaggerate. I encourage you to read other North Korean defectors books telling their stories along with hers. Very consistent.
