Increase your MTW Wolverine hop with CNC Aluminum Maxx Hop - install

- So recently my still ultra reliable MTW wolverine hop has gradually needed to be increased. Standard hop now sits between 9-12 with 12 being the max. Something needs to be done and after speaking to High Pressure Airsoft they recommend the kit I bought. CNC Maxx hop details are below with the High Pressure Link.
Not many videos how to do this on an already stock MTW without the wraith stock so thought i'd do it while I crack it open and replace it.
CNC Aluminium Hopup Chamber MXW unit is precisely machined to perform accurately and consistently on HPA MTW Milspec, Forged, Billet and MTW-9 series. The Hopup Chamber MXW unit is built with an aluminium Rotary Dial Knob for fine hopup adjustments, the precision Hopup Lever and 4mm Bucking Nubs (6mm Bucking Nubs are optional) to perform best with R-Hop and Standard-Hop to keep the BB shooting accurately and consistently on every single shot. The Hopup Chamber MXW unit is designed to accept the HPA MTW Engine M4 nozzle length, and fully compatible with most aftermarket soft and hard rubber buckings without losing FPS or dropping BB during use. The Hopup Chamber MXW unit is wisely equipped with a self-centering inlet O-ring to ensure the hopup unit is inserted exactly in the center of the 11mm to 11.5mm inner bore HPA Engine nozzle outlet without wobbling. Also mounted the removable CNC Brass Side Wings to slide smoothly into the outer barrel slots, and included an advanced CNC Delrin Locking C-Clip to hold the inner barrel tight in place without wobbling and twisting.

Nice video man, you really helped me with this tutorial. Btw I had a problem with pulling the hose out of the grip. So I had to unscrew the grip and after that I could pull out the hose.
And 1 extra thing for the viewers. If you have a problem of removing the engine. Pull out the charging handle first. Then you can take out the engine. That’s what I had to do. Greetings Andrey

Nice video, but i'd stop doing the "glasses wipe (trick)" since alcohol prep pads typically use 70% isopropyl alcohol / 30% water and that's a no go, you want to use "pure" isopropyl alcohol which is 99% so it will dissapear/steam right off after use. What you used "can/might" give issues, also you wanna give it a good rub, and not go into the bucking, normally you would do it without the hop-unit and the bucking since the "entry" of the barrel is normally filled with a ton of gunk since that's where its being held by the nub. And you wanna give it a good rub not just "push the jamming rod through the barrel 2 times" - Just wanted to share ive seen a lot of people do this, it dosen't clean and it can damage the indsides of the barrel leaving residue so the indsides starts to fuck up, and it will also ruin the bucking if the isopropyl get's on it (could soften/weaken) the bucking.

Hello thank you for the video. I have a question I just bought this hop up chamber but on mine I can see a spring on top of it but your's don't have it. Do you think it will be compatible with my MTW I bought 2 years ago? I feel a bit scared that it will not
Hi thanks for the watch is the spring on top of the max hop or the MTW. I can’t be too sure as I have only seen the one I I bought from High Pressure airsoft. I assume as long as it fits either with or without the lugs on the side it should be ok. I think the spring just keeps a constant pressure on the nub. My MTW is from a similar time as it’s also two years old.
I know this video is a year old, but how is the Maxx hop holding up? What BB weight are you running? Do you notice any inconsistency issues shot to shot, mainly BB's that seem to over-hop or under-hop?
Hi wow a year already. That went quick regarding the hop no issues, consistency if good and no real interference needed. Check out some of my recent vids to see for yourself, I'm pretty happy with the results for the price.
I can see that you didn't get an r hop patch for the inner barrel. How is that working for you? Ive been told about 50/50 that you need one or just a good quality flat hop bucking with the MAXXME.

All I wanted to do was replace the stock one. It seems fine to be honest but I was happy before with its performance. I think a lot of people try chasing an impossible outcome which just end up in a money pit. If it works daily well I’m happy. I think my maple 🍁 60 was standard and not a r hop but I could be mistaken. Thanks for the view and comment.
what supressor are you using? planning to install the 2024 MAXX hopunit hoping it will be ok on my MTW
Thanks for the watch and comment. I use the Novritsch QD suppressor as I prefer the aesthetics but the nuprol is half the price and quieter.
What IGL is that? I wanted a weaved line like that but Amped said they won't do it.

Very well made but on the other side this design is not even close to the original or the aluminum Phoenix model. You can look around and will not find any good reviews, there is so many adjustments and even adding the stainless rings the air gap can’t be fixed and the Dwell cannot be adjusted so the joule and fps will suck
didnt saw your maxx came with the 2 extra cnc nubs it should, weird, maybe you got a missing batch

which magazine would you recommend?
Hi I use Nuprol 125 rd mid caps cost about £12 and used the for years super reliable
I use KWA K120 - they too are extremely reliable, light weight, and feed very very well.
Should have got an upgrade barrel or at least cleaner original with ethanol. Excuse me commented too soon lol
