I haven't done a range test, just using gameplay as a reference, but the stock hopup/bucking have been better than any bucking or the M4W setup I've used. The M4W with a 70 ML Macaron did well enough and I do like the M4W's wheel as it is firm, compared to the stock one.
@@NikolayDimitrovFisher Yes, or metal like the M4W. I broke my stock unit while pulling the barrel out. The stock bucking became stuck and snap, there it went.
I have a forged edition and it shoots really far and really tight, i have the Silent Industries red nozzle, the m4w maxx hop unit, and use a crazy jet barrel with the maple leaf bucking that makes it able to fit into aegs. @@Silentparrot04 any of the above mentioned ML buckings can be installed in CJ (bridgeless / gbb) barrel. I've had good results with the hybrid and macaron buckings with CJ but not better than the results with PDI. It's good that you found a setup that works best in your MTW.
More like a comparison between the recommended setups for both hopups. In side to side comparison with the same bucking, nub & barrel you can't tell them apart.

MTW is the best HPA rifle out of the box and if you like the AR-15 platform it's the more reasonable choice than to convert an AEG to HPA. I don't have nor I ever used any GBBRs. They're not my cup of tea :) But quite a few of my friends have GBBRs and are happy with them.
Very interesting test, I was looking for this a week or two ago because all I could find before was Phoenix vs Maxx. Got my Forged Ltd edition last week, already wondering which upgrades I can do 🤣
LE comes with the CNC version of the billet plastic hopup that's already proven and works well with wide variety of buckings. If you have a good working hopup combo I doubt you'll see any noticeable difference just by changing the hopup :)
For me it's the right hopup because I use R-hop. No other M4 hopup has TDC nub that is made specifically with R-hop in mind. In M4W/MXW you don't have to make irreversible changes in the hopup lever to install the M-nub. You can stay with the preinstalled orange relatively soft M-nub or replace it with harder one (or whatever you want) without the need to change or modify anything else.
Doesn't the prommy barrel have a to small of a window in order to work properly with the mr hop. I know the barrels got updated over time. But I know that my Prometheus (both the krytac and regular) barrel doesn't like the mrhop.
@@ThOoMii013i had the new gen 2 prommy, just sold it cause window wasn’t enough to mr.hop. Now I ordered tnt s+ barrel, i hope it will be amazing with features + mrhop
I like the test but it isn't exactly a great comparison... You have a PDI barrel/madbull bucking in the m4w setup. And a lambda barrel (notoriously horrible barrels) with a G&G green in the SI setup. This gives super mixed results across the board. However.... I really prefer the stock hop unit over anything. I really hope wolverine releases the new CNC'd units they put in the Gen3's for individual sale. :(
In my case there's no differences between PDI and Lambda in their dimensions. At least in my HPAs the Lambda barrel is OK as you can see here: ruclips.net/video/reTBIFMxZuA/видео.html and ruclips.net/video/Dm0EhwTvI_A/видео.html and in my 1st gen billet MTW it gives me better results with Alpha compared to my PDI 05 and 08. I don't have explanation why :) I prefer to compare the hopups in combo with their best (or recommended) other parts (bucking, mod, barrel, nub) to show what is possible. So you can easily reproduce these results in your replica if you like what you see.
@@NikolayDimitrovFisher Yep, the soft one works great, while the hard one is cаusing inconsistence between the shots... and the good grouping is almost inpossible. Don't know why ... the old version of Maxx is working great on same setup.

I can go up to 0.43. The accuracy will be slightly better but the bb will travel to the 60 m. target for 2+ seconds... this is a questionable trade-off for outdoor games with enemy players who don't stand still.
Great vídeo. Still made my choice harder. I tend to stay away from Maxx because on AEG they cause misfeeds most of the time. In the video the groupings seem better on the sillent industries but you have better air seal on the Maxx. What are your thoughts on wich is the better Hop up?
Both hopups are very good. With Maxx you get more bang for your bucks since 1) the M4W comes with two additional nubs that covers any possible bucking & nub combo, 2) Maxx has better barrel centering and locking with the C-clips, you can't move or rotate the barrel at all, and 3) you don't need to source the wheel and centering barrel spacer from your stock hopup. Also Maxx works equally well with Maple Leaf, G&G 'green' and Madbull 'red' (best traditional bucking ever) buckings without the need for lip compression rings. In other hand the Alpha has better mounting to engine (but it easily misaligns with the feeding tube so you need to push it firmly to the engine) and fewer parts which you would easily lose during installation. Those lip compression ring(s) are helpful when you have to deal with some picky buckings with loose lips and the Phoenix is too difficult or challenging for you to set it up correctly. I have both but prefer the M4W because it gives me the best results with my R-hoped barrels - ruclips.net/video/XX6ThQQs5X8/видео.html. But if you're skilled, with R-hop you can achieve the same results with a carefully modified stock hopup - ruclips.net/video/reTBIFMxZuA/видео.html.
@@NikolayDimitrovFisher it seems on your video the SI Hop up has the same problem as mine (it Over hops some BBs and others it underhops). I bought it but its kind of disapointing......
