Absolutely right! The vitamin C face serum and sun screen from litteleextra rice berry have really improved my skin. In the past 50 days, they're the only things that have helped me. I've already used up one bottle of each. With my dry sensitive skin and my habit to not do much for it, these have been a lifesaver. They feel non greasy and soak into my skin easily. My complexion looks brighter, more even, and younger. Even blemishes and acne marks are starting to fade. My skin is noticeably smoother and better hydrated Now I'm looking forward to get a face toner that suits well for my skin too.
It is so good face serum; it enhances glowing skin, skin texture, blemishes, under-eye circles, uneven skin tone, signs of aging, black heads, sun exposure. It is truly awesome. 5/5 to this riceberry vitamin c serum from my side.
after face wash i just apply a bit of rice berry face serum and it instantlly make my face glow and keep it hydrated for long..over the period of time i have seen my dark spotss also getting faded
Enjoyed your video.. you have a vitamin C graveyard! I currently use the Neutrogena 20% vitamin C ampoules. On days when I feel a little itchy, I switch to the Cerave for a day or two. I have seen very good results from this. I keep my ampoules and tubes in the refrigerator. This helps to cut down on waste a bit and skincare(even with drugstore), the prices have become tougher to fit into my budget… Also, be sure to check the expiration dates! Recently I found products on the shelves that expired in 2019! I took them to the manager who acted horrified. Three days later when I returned, the items were back on the shelf! Check so you get your full potency.
Watched this to make sure I was using a good vitamin c serum, boom, cerave, first one up. Thank you, got straight to my question and saved me 10 minutes :)
Hello Doc and everyone, as always you gave us great information about these products. I will be trying these and see what works on my skin (59 years old matured skin 😆). Anyways, most of them that you recommend in the past are working for me……sometimes I am too tired to do it everyday due of caring my mother in law with dementia but it’s all good (8 years plus but this year is getting worse). Doctors already was surprised how she last this long, told him “ love” is the answer,
Now I'm perusing all your videos as I found you only recently..... I LOVE Skinceuticals... yet, not the price point.... I used to have access Skin Medica a hundred years ago free in our office ........ thank you Dr. Fitzpatrick RIP. Now, at almost 63 years of age I am wanting to explore things that are not as pricey. I love the Geek and Gorgeous Vit. C from Hungary... nice price point and can easily go two and a half months with extremely little to no color change. Love all your videos!
My favorite Vitamin C is the Timeless 10% Vitamin C + Vitamin E + Ferulic Acid. Super affordable, simple ingredients list and effective. I just wish the tube doesn't leak. Otherwise, it's a perfect serum. I'm very new to Vitamin C, though. Maybe some products are better, but i won't spend that much money to buy a skincare product. $16 is quite expensive, in my opinion.
I've been using CeraVe serum for 8 months now and actually I noticed that now that it's winter it haven't turned dark so now I know why ! (I place it in my drawer too) thanks for that advice Dr.
Kiehl’s Line Reducing Concentrate is amazing. I swear by it, speaking from personal experience. I’m only 20 but I take care of my skin. Can’t recommend highly enough.
My favorite Vitamin C serum was ( I say was for a reason!!) Sweet Chef Ginger & Vitamin C. Also, tried Sweet Chefs Celery, Kale & Beets, but not the same by a long shot! Loved it, but for some reason has been discontinued 🥺. I’m now in search for a comparable one ~ now trying out one of Burt’s Bees face serums, but so far not seeing the same effect I got with Sweet Chef.
great video as always! quick question, what are your thoughts on The Ordinary's 8% Ascribed Acid plus 2% Alpha Arbutin? I've heard it's excellent for getting rid of hyperpigmentation.
You are a doctor who I trust, who is here to really help people. I love your honesty and you share your own skincare journey. I enjoy your sense of humour also. I wanted to ask if you have a video on the treatment for papules? I have blackheads and papules. I just started using Olay Regenerist Retinol 24 so help with blackheads. I also have Rosacea. Also have you done a video that shows how and when to use Vit C, Rentinol, moisturizers. I don't know what goes on first or with something else. Thank you so much for you taking the time to post your videos.
Hi Dr Sugai, thanks very much for all the great videos. I was wondering if you could share some thoughts on Some By Mi Galactomyces Pure Vitamin C Glow Serum please ?
Hi Dr. you’ve inspired me. However, I’d like to ask what would be the best vitamin c serum for someone who has eczema on the face? Lookin to see how to help the skin get healthier from all the damages. Thanks. Hope to hear from you.
Very helpful Dr., thanks for the reminders and for recommending Mae Love, using SkinCeuticals vit c at the moment. Which other Mae Love products would you recommend? For anti-aging very sensitive skin. Thanks again look forward for your next video.
Hi, thanks for your videos! I have a question: Do you prefer American vitamin c skincare products to Korean or Japanese products? That would be a video I’d love to watch!
Hi doctor I wish you well. Watching form Egypt 🇪🇬 I like your videos it contains a lot of information that helps a lot of people to keep their skin healthy and glowing. I wish you talk more about normal and dry skin.
I bought the one from Drunk Elephant 🐘 and it burned me so bad, in fact it was a severe burn it took me weeks to recover and everything made me allergic after that. Months later I bought the one from Pacifica that is supposed to be vegan but I got pimples which I have never had or suffered from that 😔, I guess vitamin C is not for everyone. I would like to see a video about it because I felt cheated after seeing so many videos speaking so highly of this product
Some people’s skin doesn’t agree with vitamin C. My mum has the same reaction to you as vitamin C, gets burning and pimples from it on her skin. She even has to be careful with eating oranges lol
Hi Dr. Sugai. What do you think about the Timeless L-ascorbic acid vitamin C which is really popular because of the price point and it has Vit E and Ferulic Acid in it too? They have a 10% and a 20%. And if you put it in the frig it lasts forever - nice and clear. And Happy, Happy New Years to you and your family!
The Timeless Vit C is a good product, but I will not purchase again because the packaging leaks horribly. Lots of product wasted and it’s messy. I fell in love with the Maelove Glowmaker. It has the same ingredients as the Timeless, but comes in a UV protected glass dropper bottle. I keep mine in the fridge!
I love the timeless one for me it's the best, most affordable vitamin C at 20% Ascorbic acid. I tend to see better results with vitamin C (Ascorbic acid) at 15% and above. I use it for PIH and melasma. I have tried over 10 brands of vitamin C. It is probably one of the best, but it is no longer available in the EU. It's a shame as I am yet to find a good replacement for ascorbic acid. I have not had the same success with derivatives like ascorbic acid, the two derivatives I like are sodium ascorbyl phosphate and ascorbyl glucoside, but to me not as effective as 20% ascorbic acid. I find both Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate and 3-0 ethyl ascorbic acid comedogenic.
It’s one of the best vitamin C serums out there. Watch Angie with hot and flashy and she does the litmus paper test that proves that this is one of the best. The only ones that have passed the test are timeless, SkinCeuticals, MaeLove
@@carolbowen4349 have you purchased it since they reformulated it into the airtight container? I’ve had mine for four months and I have had no problems with this with the new yellow container.
I've used Vichy's vitamin C serum and noticed that it didn't absorb very well in my skin. When I washed my face at the end of the day, I noticed that the serum would come off on my wash cloth. If I sweat and wiped my brow, it would come off at that point too. Since it's so dark it was easy to see the serum on a wash cloth. So, I'm looking for other options...thanks for your video!
Thank you Dr. Sugai for the video! I was wondering what will be the right period of time to use hydroquinone and then take a pause. My dermatologist in México suggested I should use it during 6 months, but after watching your video I’m a little concerned that it could be too long. Thank you!
I've been applying things roughly in order of acids (currently AHA/BHA/PHA toner, lactic acid + licorice root serum, l-ascorbic acid serum)- let absorb 5-15 minutes - remainder (toner after acids, then continue as normal) because of a study indicating that a glycolic acid face wash could assist in absorption of topically-applied l-ascorbic acid, possibly by mechanism of lowering the skin's pH before the application.
What I'm about to say will probably horrify a dermatologist, but I have ascorbic acid powder that I sometimes create a solution from. I then apply it to my face, and then I put moisturizer over this after several minutes. Obviously I don't make it so strong that it irritates the skin. I've never had any skin irritation problems from it, and I find that doing this once a week helps with brightening, etc. My big concern with vitamin c on the skin is absorption. I also started doing this because all of the talk about the shelf life of vitamin c preparations made me wonder why we don't just apply vitamin c. In a dry powder form, in a sealed container, ascorbic acid is quite stable and costs almost nothing (I think I paid $9 for a pound the last time I bought some). Also, I'm not recommending that people just experiment like this. It can be very irritating for some people.
Thankyou for your advice as always it's much appreciated 🙏❤ I would be really interested to see you do a video on temperature and how it affects retinol, vit c, glycolic acid and hyaluronic acid. I live in New Zealand and unlike the northern hemisphere we dont have central heating/cooling in many homes. We generally cook in summer and freeze in winter. My home rarely drops below the mid 20s (hard to sleep) Also, some of the products you say are easily accessible aren't in this part of the world(fyi) I worry that my skincare products are being compromised by summer heat. There doesn't seem to be any advice on product packaging regarding storage in hot weather and how heat and refrigeration can affect the efficacy of the products. Would love some feedback as my skin is now reacting to some products and I wonder if heat has something to do with it. Would love to hear your thoughts and advice on this issue. Many thanks, I love your videos 🤗
Hi Dr. Sugai, I'm a first time viewer to your channel. Can you please tell me which are your TOP 3 vitamin c's and which one is your current favorite? Also, can you please tell me if it's safe to combine lactic acid 10% from the ordinary and tretinoin together? Thank you so very much!
@@sandrafrancesI also used it after seeing so many good reviews on FB but sadly, I saw no difference in my skin. I never used it after the first bottle. I have been using the Palmers skin therapy oil which has Retinol, Vit C and E and love it. It has been a year now.
Dr. Sugai what are your thought on StriVectin super-c retinol..I got it from Costco. I loved the review you did on Oly vs CeraVe could you do a review?
Hi, in this video you recommend cleanse, serum, moisturizer then sunscreen.. In another video you reviewed the Olay Regenerist vitamin c moisturizer.. could I use just that versus the serum AND the moisturizer?
Happy New Year 🎊🎈 Thank you Dr Sugai … your commentaries are always helpful! 👍🏼 Also it’s good to hear you mention Obagi as I just incorporated it into my morning routine, 10%. Thank you and stay warm … Seattle and surrounding areas received a lot of snow. Cheers 🥂
Thank you for all the info Dr. Sugai. Question I plan on using a similar AM/PM skin care routine you mentioned later in this video. Do you recommend I stick to a single brand for cleanser, vitamin c, moisturizer and sunscreen in the AM? I plan on using the Cerave vitamin c. Thank you
Should we ever take a break from using vitamin C serum? I’ve been using loreal’s vitamin c serum for about 4 months consistently and I saw a huge difference. But now it do not seem to be effective anymore.
You wouldn’t have developed tolerance to the VitC serum as you would with pain medicine or other drugs, your skin may appear a certain way due to other external factors or the serum has expired/oxidized
Not a doctor of any sort, but my thought would be that maybe you have reached the full potential & efficacy of the vitamin c. Just like many treatments, they take a certain amount of time to work & be fully effective after continuous use. Once you reach that point, you’re getting all that you will get out of it. Just a thought. Another thought, if your skin has regressed that’s another thing. It could be due to other factors. Has anything in your skincare routine changed? Your diet, lifestyle, stress levels. All good things to consider. Hoping you’ll receive an expert opinion!🙌🏼

Hi, I am a big fan of your channel, doc! I find that your contents are always very informative. Want to ask, what do you think of Timeless Skin Care Vitamin C + E Ferulic Acid? I like it since it's a pump bottle instead of a dropper, I felt it'll more stable that way. Will you do a review on it? Thanks 😊
Thanks! First time in here, I will be 64 next week I hope you do video about sagging jowls ( smile lines) I haven't decided wish vitamin c serum to get
Hi Doc do you want have any thoughts on the vitamin C 30% in silicones from the ordinary? Is formulating in silicone as the carrier a good idea or will it prevent it from actually penetrating the skin? The formula feels like a makeup primer
I am about to use Vitamin C serum for facial, neck, and elbows eczema. I am already using a serum for the scalp eczema. It has reduced three hard and itchy scabs on my scalp after a month of usage. I got eczema after grapefruit juice poisoning in July 2022. My skin was already extra dry. I also lost 60% of my taste and smell. I was utterly shocked. I am very blessed that it is not severe. But I must attend to it in case it spreads. Hopefully, it will completely disappear after daily treatments.
Have you even tested these with the litmus paper to see what their pHs and whether they will even soak into the skin? SkinCeuticals, Mae love and timeless are the ones that win the litmus paper test. That’s how you know whether it’s good.
Thanks for the Vitiman C Vlog, I use the Cerave C and love it, thanks for confirming its an effective C and will continue the Cerave after your recommendation 😀
Hey Dr. Sugai! New subbie 😊 I'm curious to know your thoughts on Farmacy's vitamin c serum. I've been using for 6 months every morning and have had great results in shrinking pores and my overall skin texture. Thanks in advance!

Hi Dr. Sugai, would you please also review the vitamin c capsule by Neutrogena?
Should we ever take a break from using vitamin C serum? I’ve been using loreal’s vitamin c serum for about 4 months consistently and I saw a huge difference. But now it do not seem to be effective anymore.
He needs to respond to this. This is a question we need answered
Do you take a break from seatbelts when you drive?
Use as long as you can . One day your skin will glow so bright that you won't need to turn on light at night, your face will be enough.
I just purchased Cerave Vitamin C serum
Worth it as very cost friendly??
@@georginaramsden4640 I changed to Vanicream Vitamin C serum formulated for dry sensitive skin after watching Dr. Alexis Stephens on choosing the right Vitamin C. The Vanicrean Vitamin C Serum is more moisturizing I use every morning after I cleanse

Thank you for your help

I like it since it's a pump bottle instead of a dropper, I felt it'll more stable that way.

I love the LRP serum but I can’t seem to use it fast enough for it to not turn on me. Thinking about keeping it in the box in the fridge next time

Hi Dr! What's a good moisturizer to pair with vitamin C serum?
Hey Dr. Sugai! New subbie 😊 I'm curious to know your thoughts on Farmacy's vitamin c serum. I've been using for 6 months every morning and have had great results in shrinking pores and my overall skin texture. Thanks in advance!
A lady in my neighborhood free group gave away an almost whole bottle of the LaRoche Posay vitamin C serum b/c she didn't like the smell so it's wild to see him confirm that. Man, it must really stink!
