- Local Coin Shop Pickup and a Junk Silver Hunt!
Since I have had several requests for me to do another local coin shop (LCS) pickup video, as well as a junk silver purchase and hunt, I decided to go to my Local Coin Shop and kill 2 birds with one stone!
I grabbed all of the available Ben Franklin and Walking Liberty half dollars he had, as well as 160 Mercury dimes which he hadn't "gone through" yet - which I figured was a ploy for me to purchase them but it ended up being the case as I scored a nice semi-key date Mercury Dime!
Hopefully you all enjoy this video as I ended up having some really good coins and a few semi-key date coins! 1926 S Mercury Dime in EF-AU condition? What?
I may also hit up some pawn shops and thrift stores to see if there are any hidden treasures hanging out in there too!
As always - Happy Hunting and Thanks for Watching AND keep Stacking that silver my friends!!!

Hey would you trade a liberty head 1 dollar 90% silver for some mercury dimes or Indian head pennies.
Hey rob i was wondering what microscope do you use?
You should make a video about your whole collection
RobFindsTreasure so did you pay face value for the coins or what
dylan the man face value x 12.25 (just over silver spot)
I love watching LCS pickup vids from you there very cool!
Very nice find Rob ...not many "key days". Get through those coin shops and. then tossed in with the "junk"... I love them mercury dimes
Rob I like that you actually go through and show us your album upgrades. Should do that more often.
Another great hunt.. nice find with the 26 s 👀😍👍😎
I'd love to have a 26 S for my collection!!
Have a Great Day My Friend!!!
Great day at the coin shop!
Nice! Thanks for sharing and take care.
Hey Rob. I love your videos. I have been collecting coins for a long time. Probably 6 years and your videos are so helpful on knowing what to look for. Keep it up! God bless you and your family
Sweet LCS you have in your town.
I love the barbers
Few years ago I found a dream box, all machine wrapped rolls in a bank box, for a total of 98 silvers: 65-mercs, 33-rosies. Many of the Mercs we're in Fine & better condition.
They are still out there, just a matter of being at the right place & right time.
Great Video!! WOW A 1926s Crazy!!! I would say definitely get it graded!!!
Lol found a war nickel today (1943-P) in a vending machine 5 days after I found a 1946-D dime. Lady luck loves me and blesses me with silver, and I hope she does the same to you! Happy hunting!
Best thing I found in a vending machine was a proof dollar coin still a cool find tho
Lucky you!
I went to Fry's today and I had a moca cockle cromble and got a buffalo nickel
I love the LCS!!!! Awesome 1926 S!!!
Nice finds! Put the 26s in the book!
Awesome Rob💥💥 Dime Time👍🏻 if that 26s happens to fall in one of my packages that would be ok😂😂 Nice pickups fro your LCS, I would be very happy with those for sure😊
Very cool Rob...love the constitutional silver! Thanks for sharing!!!
Talking Bullion Anytime brother!
Dang, those scratches man. It has awesome details and luster
NA.TV the scratches are heart breakers
Wow. Great finds. Well worth your money for the book upgrades alone
Cool finds
I love me some merc dimes !!!!
Rob, congrats on 26S.
Sweet score with the 26S. That thing is in great shape.
Wow great 26 s Find!
Great score on the constitutional silver, Rob! Walkers are a personal favorite of mine. Also wanted to thank you for the currency hunting videos. I decided to lookup the value of my star notes. Most were part of a 3.2 million print run, but I did have a $100 bill and a couple $1 bills with a 640,000 print run. Then the cream of the crop turned out to be a $2 bill with a 320,000 print run and a 1999 series $5 bill with a print run of just 35,200 notes. Keep up the informational videos!
Nice vid rob!!
Rob! Robbie! Roberto! Awesome pick ups! LOOOOOOOOVE constitutional especially walkers and mercs! My best find for mercury dimes was two 1921 that i got for 3 bucks from a dime bin a an antique store! Great pick ups and thanks for sharing
Nice Merc's. I did have, at one time, a 1916D but it was BELOW G4. The mint mark WAS there but very indistinct. Lost it when I got divorced.
Bummer William - wish I could find a 1916 D Merc dime some day!
@@RobFindsTreasure What is even worse, my dad HAD a 1916D in EF (maybe XF). It was stolen by someone in 1969. Never recovered.
Weird how valuables go missing during a divorce...
Today im going to a flea market and Im gonna buy a bag of silver dimes. Wish me luck!
That's Awesome Rob. Today when i went to my local currency exchange shop. I asked for circulated one dollar notes and got a 1969D One dollar note.
The axe on the back of "Mercury" dimes is called a fasces, the root word of "fascism." That's why the Mint was so eager to change the reverse of the dime right after fascism was defeated in WW2. FDR passing away gave them a great opportunity to redesign the dime!
i absolutely love these LCS videos Rob. Maybe pick up some quarters on the next visit? Quarters are my favorite of the constitutional silver. Also, that really is an amazing find on that 26 s.. seriously a big score! guy who owns the shop definitely over looked that one!
Great silver!
Nice finds love those mercury dimes
Picked up a few silver dimes and a 1909 vdb penny today at a pawn shop
I definitely believe that is a clipped planchet. And the one piece that is jewelry made that's got to be silver solder on there, so there's a little brass if you look real close with a magnifying glass.
My best Mercury Dime find was when we found all those pay phones in the scrap yard, they were mostly 1940s.
I love junk silver. I always buy some when I have extra money. Who you going with when grading coins (NGC,PCGS,ANACS)? And why you choose them?
Hey Rob, you should do a video of the coins you sent out for grading. What you expect to get and what they graded at.
Oscar's Collection I would likely use ANACS or NGC for cost or marginal coins. For serious grades or ones I expect would fetch high grade and value I’d likely use PCGS.
Nice video bro keep up the goodwork
I like how u get mad at a 96 year old coin for having a few scratches
Remember that when grading, the obverse is much more important than the reverse. A bad obverse will really sink this grade, and that is if it doesn't get a details grade. It will almost certainly get a details grade. Nice find for junk price, though
You think it would get a "scratched" with EF Details? or a VF grade. I must admit, once I got it under the scope I was depressed since it looked so much better in my hand.
@@RobFindsTreasure I would say, probably VF.
It would get a low VF in my opinion because the scratches are not superbly easy to spot with the naked eye, and there isn't one deep gouge that stands out on the surfaces of the coin. The scratches do bring down the grade somewhat, however
For a second opinion, go to one of the online forums and ask them their opinion. There are some very intelligent people who really want to help out
I also would grade the 1926 S as VF.
The amount of walking liberties though
Wow that merc looks to be about $300 if it's between EF-AU! What a great find!
Thanks Rob
Wait, the “silver dealer” (not LCS) SOLD you decently priced constitutional?? Not up here in NH. They want BUDGE with premiums.
Nicely done, Rob! 😁👌🏼
Very Nice LCS Pick Ups!!! Can’t wait to get to mine again. It always seems to be closed😩
Clinton S LOL - they always are or have short days for sure! 11-5 ends up being 12-3 and weekends and Mondays closed, etc...
I found a 1932 S quarter at the coin shop in there 90% bin traded it for 5 ASE's it was only a G4 grade at best . Never know what you can find in those junk bins !!
Man, I got a walking liberty half dollar album for Christmas and I’ve only been able to fill 7 slots! The up side is I have a 1916 P and a 1919 D.
Im laughing so hard right now..1926s..when i took first glance on face side...in the hair area...it looked like a person sticking out there tongue...lol
LOL - I see it! 😋
Cool info vid
VF20 you see those dents may show signs of trying to polish it which damaged the coin
That’s pretty cool man
Dang. Now I gotta go check when my LCS opens tomorrow.
Nice score at the coin shop. HH. JOE
Great score bro 👍 👍
Cool stuff great video later thanks
Dimes are nice
When it comes to old really hard to find coins that are found in junk silver they are almost always cleaned. I'm no expert on that so I can't tell you ether way.
any one of us very true - plus the scratches hurt for sure.
Wwwwwwwwwwooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwww!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Pretty sure I have a coin with a ding on the R.... from the same shop Rob :)
LOL - nice. Did you see me there?
No I Just know where your at lol cause I'm close to you with the BBQ Truck lol and theres only 3 lcs in our area and 2 you mentioned silver dealer which let me know exactly where you went :)
MickeyV AKABankrobber did you like the Ding on the R clue?
Yes I totally got it right away lol
Im going tomorrow morning to flip some of the 64s I got in my epic box.
Wow grv rob
Maybe higher Rob send it out to get grade good luck!
Time to start stacking silver. 2019 looks good finally for precious metals
Seen 2020?
Great stuff....In the near future I want to send you some Trinidad and Tobago coins along with a free copy of my first book to you in hopes for a Sunday Mail shout out and as a thank you.
Tevin Dube absolutely!
Nice find....but sadly the 26-S has been cleaned :(
Idk if I’d call it a ef 40, I’m not the best at grading but I would say 30 to 35 just cause the scratches are a little excessive. I would send it to anacs just cause it’s cheaper and if you get a 40 from them then send it to ngc or pcgs
Quick Silver I agree - those darn scratches under the scope hurt me. It looks great in the flip though!
RobFindsTreasure I bet it does. What the graders look under a 7x to 10x magnifying glass. I would shoot a little lower than what you expect, just to be safe. That’s why I think you should send it to anacs first so you don’t don’t waste money if you get a lower grade
I'll take that 1926 s off your hands lol dont have one
I'd say it's a vf30..which is a 75 dollar coin. Beautiful find....if u want 40 for it lmk. Lol
Hi rob
Love you man your amazing
Acie Simmons Thank you so much!
Coin roll hunting question: do you need a bank account to get sealed coin boxes at a bank? If you don't can you name specific banks that let you get boxes without having an account there? Thanks
You should show your 2018 coin collection
That 1926 would be XF details at best
Pearsonal I think that 26s is a VF35
Hey Rob, do you have any PCGS certified mercury dimes?
I can't tell if you would be the type of person to buy PCGS mercury dimes.
From my personal collection I have a PCGS MS66 mercury.
AdrienDaBoss I do not. I only have a handful of slabbed coins.
Old US silver coins are in such a heavy worn state, funny how you basically still keep them in circulation, I wonder what is the reason for it? It would be quite easy to separate the old coins from the new ones, them being silver and all. All other countries take the old coins out of circulation, at least I think so.
Cool !!!
I like your books. Who makes them?
Where do you get your books for the coins from or what type of books are they?
I love the sheets you use to point out the coins to watch out for, where did you get them and do you know if they are available for Canadian coins?
thanks
Hold up, your telling me he sold those to you for face value!??!?!? My coin dealer sells them to me for like 7 times face value!! Now I'm upset!!!! You could make some real money there rob!
That coin would get a High VF but it would get a scratched. But not a bad coin at all!!! Also when is your Ike bag vid is coming out? Curious to see what you are getting (email me pictures of what you get ;)
The scratches are not deep and more cosmetic - they look bad under the scope but I don't think it would get a "scratched" designation personally. Could be wrong. But it has way better eye appeal and no deep scratches compared to most that are scratched.
RobFindsTreasure and what about the Ike’s
Still In Need Of Circumcision...
Still In Circ she ordered them and got small dollar coins... 🤦🏻♂️
RobFindsTreasure that has happened to me before lol
Does the coin shop allow you to hand pick the junk silver? Or is it pre packaged
Did you ever get that 1926 s merc dime graded????
No, it's in my album.
The 26-S if an ER-40 Details Obverse Grafitti
Seems to be the common theme. Thanks.
I have the blue book coins and price
Hey Rob, what Redbook is that you have?
Hey Rob, did you ever end up grading that 26 S?
Hey Rob do you know where I can find a standing liberty half dollar my dad,s got stolen. Maybe you can give me one please.
Get the 26 graded
Any 1943 S/S? 1942s/s? Wow I can go on and on! I love dimes
Coin Group of Minnesota for this video I kept it simple but do plan on revisiting the dimes again soon!
@@RobFindsTreasure yes and nice 1926 a find! I was pumped after finding 2 of them myself!!!
Hey Rob, have you ever found a three cent piece(trime) or what do you know about them?
I need a better coin dealer. I think mine is feeding an army, picked up some overpriced peace dollars because I didn't have any.
I just got a 1966 Quarter in my change im not sure if its an error it looks like a big rim one?
I sent you a package that should be there by Saturday, when do you check your mail?
I finally found a 1987 D HALF DOLLAR COIN ROLL HUNTING
Very nice!
@@RobFindsTreasure 2.9 million made of 1987 half's , now I need 1970 D 40 % silver and 1987 p too finish the JFK series , plus the proofs also need
Get it graded
Hi
26-S is XF Details at best. Harshly cleaned, too many scratches.
