Local Coin Shop LCS Junk Silver Hunt - Barbers, SLQs and Mercury Dimes

- Local Coin Shop Pickup and a Junk Silver Hunt!
Since I have had several requests for me to do another local coin shop (LCS) pickup video, as well as a junk silver purchase and hunt, I decided to go to my Local Coin Shop and kill 2 birds with one stone!
I grabbed all of the available Barber Halfs, Barber Quarters, Standing Liberty Quarters, and Barber Dimes he had, as well as 230+ Mercury dimes - which I was hoping wwould contain some key or semi-key dates!
Hopefully you all enjoy this video! I may also hit up some pawn shops and thrift stores to see if there are any hidden treasures hanging out in there too!

RobFindsTreasure I make a rule that if I can't see the latin on the banner then I skip out on the Barber half. You do loose some silver by getting really worn coins as well.

I really miss the prices from 5 years ago for 90% silver when the price were at $12.50 face value. It’s pretty much doubled since then.

There are very small differences between the 16 & 17 Type I quarters. With the dates removed you can still determine a 16 key date. In one of the well known coin forums one guy found one in a LCS "junk" pile. It was returned by PCGS as unknown but resubmitted to NGC, which certified the $900 treasure a AG3.
If those coins could talk, I'd would like to hear the stories. Makes you wonder where those coins been and who had them all those years ago! Great video once again!!

Let move on to the STANDING LIBERTY QUARTERS
One time I was metal detecting and I found a 100 something year old purse with a lot of old coins it had like 2 dollars in barber quarters and 30 cents in barber dimes and 15 cents in shield nickels what a lucky find
I really wonder to who it had belonged to I saved the coins for my collection. I just can't get over the fact I found a purse full of old coins and silver nice goodies

I got a 1925 peace dollar coin at my local coin shop for $20.

That type 1 SLQ is a 1917 confirmed.
There's a way to differentiate between a 1916 and a 1917 even as it's dateless.
One hair on a '16, 2 hairs on a '17
Worn flat stars on a '16 in the shield, stars visible in a 17
Rob I swear on God Almighty that is a 1916 type one there's a few different ways to tell even if it is dateless especially by the obverse on the drapery of Lady Liberty. You can easily tell with comparison photos that is in fact a 1916 type 1 standing liberty quarter congratulations! If you want me to send you more info on how to tell please let me know. But for now please take my word that is that it!

I have a 1917 and 1920 standing liberty quarter and 1900 and 1908 barber quarters metal detecting. All in amazing condition easy to read the dates.

mannnn I wish I could buy standing liberties as junk. My LCS sells all Standings with a numismatic premium on them. When it comes to junk I'm pretty much limited to buying Kennedies, Rosies, Washingtons, Mercs, Franklins, and Walkers. No Standings or Barbers for me :(

The 1898o barber dime with the scratches on the face are from the old rapping machine and there are collecters that pay more for that

For v and buffalo nickels I pay .75 to $1. For any silver dimes I pay $1.20. And for silver quarters I pay $3. Silver half dollar late are $7 (90%). Is this good value?
You should be able to get a 90 percent Kennedy or Franklin half for about $5 bucks each.
