Bill Graham was and still is very much loved in SF. Huge, enormous part part of the music scene all over the country though particularly in SF, and for decades. It was a memorial as much as anything. Many broken hearted people in that crowd. Very easy to understand why the crowd is quiet restrained. Just being respectful.
every single person in this audience should be ashamed of themselves...what a sad, pathetic crowd....they dont deserve to be there....i hope you see this.
Arnel Pineda is an excellent karoke singer. When Steve Perry was that age he was an original, he copied no one. His voice soared into the hearts of millions. Unfortunately that amazing voice was damaged after 1000's of concerts. He was 42 years old here. Let's see how Pineda sounds at 42 and how much original music he has created by then.
The original singer of journey he can't take the heat on stage , like Arnel does,,, he has been singing karaoke on his early years, like teenage years maybe,.... my opinion Arnel can sing,,,, professional singer....
If I only would have known Steve wasn't gonna come back, I would have flew around the country & hit every single concert location & cherishished every moment. True- you don't know what you got till it's gone.
I saw them in the late 80's and got blown away. I kept having to miss their concert every time they played but finally I got to see what Steve Perry was about and wasn't disappointed at all. I wouldn't dare to even see Journey without Steve Perry and it doesn't matter how much they sound like him. He can't be replaced.
Steve Perry is soooo gifted! His voice is pure joy, his humor delightful, his intelligence impressive and his appearance appreciated---what more could anyone ask for? Bless you, Steve!
@@wandagoss8469 hi Wanda! First I want to confirm this reply is not to you personally but to everyone who has a put down to FM singing live. Your comment gave me that opening. Fighting a virus; interesting concept on why he sounded atrocious. But, it happens. So many ppl like to “hate on” per se, FM’s voice because of it’s cracks & breaks; which actually made it more beautiful. Early years he was flat out drunk. But in the early 80’s on….he lived with a raw throat that had growths on & off, and a terrible sore throat almost 24/7. By end of concerts he was exhausted but he kept going….and he KNEW how to control his voice as a post said he didn’t; pure bs. He sang until he couldn’t; gravely ill. My point; if Steve Perry had that issue, he wouldn’t have sang at all. I take nothing from his beautiful voice!! He’s one of the greatest no doubt. But the GOAT had throat problems and sang to perfection 95% of the time. So for those who don’t know that backstory or don’t agree…flip it. A flu is nothing. FM wasn’t a quitter. And his voice was like no other in its perfection.
I remember the crappy music that was being played in '91. My oldest son was a 'tween, and I told my kids it was ROT GUT. They're all grown and have kids of their own. Wanna know what they listen to now? JOURNEY WITH STEVE PERRY!! This crowd was shameful.
The concert was a tribute / funeral for Bill Graham, legendary bay area promoter. It's not like people were totally partying and this performance was also in the morning...just trying to give a little perspective on this concert...
I'm 46 years old and this band is still my favorite and now also my boys favorite. Thank God they are back and Arnel the new singer is pretty good trying his best to bring the band back to life.
Now possibly 2019? A uploaded Eddie Trunk video says that Neil Schon has in a roundabout way let Steve Perry know that an idea of Journey with Steve Perry could happen if Steve accepts. Scott just wanted to let a fellow Journey fan know.
you were not there, my friend. We were. In my opinion, best not to comment about an event that you did not partake in.. It was magical and odd at the same time. In light of the death of a major music icon who suddenly crashed in a terrible helicopter death-We were not prepared, we were stunned and in mourning. Do you have a playbook about how the crowd should have acted? If you were there, you would have felt the bond that the people of the Bay area felt- coupled with some of the greatest musicians who got their start here and wanted to show their gratitude. Probably another tragedy will rival this day, which is what it will take, unfortunately, to understand how powerful and meaningful this day was to all of us who were there.
The 2 best frontman and singers of all time to sing and lead a band vocal wise is Steve Perry and Freddie Mercury ....Steve's voice was so beautiful!!! He is the main heart of Journey.....Love and miss him.....Love and miss Freddie Mercury too....They are Legends!!
@Steve Perry You are so welcome....I have been a fan of yours ever since you joined Journey and I also enjoy your solo work as well....I'm originally from the bay area as well...The last time I was home visiting family and friends, I went to see Journey (2015) with Arnel singing and I enjoyed it but it wasn't the same.....Arnel is an awesome singer but he isn't you!! You are the most soulful and beautiful singer ever!! You will always be the voice and heart of Journey!!! Your # 1 fan from Florida....Janette....Hope to see you performing soon....
@Steve Perry I love all your music and songs....but if I had to choose my all time fave it would be Lights, cuz it reminds me of my hometown of San Francisco CA....The city by the bay!! I also love Don't Stop Believin, Send Her My Love, Open Arms, Faithfully, Party's Over.....ect....I could go on and on.....lol I love all your solo work as well. I'm really happy that your sharing your music with us fans again. ..your a true Blessing!! Take care of yourself and God Bless you!!! Janette
I believe this is Bill Graham's memorial service. I was in that crowd. The reason people are quieter than usual is that it was a sad reason to come together. It's not because we didn't love hometown heroes Journey, but that we had lost the pillar of the SF music scene to a tragic accident. Neil Schon can read a crowd better than anyone and will play accordingly, and nobody was too happy to be saying goodbye that day. I think it was paced perfectly, I think this is one of the best renditions of these particular songs cuz they are so heart-felt. The lights had indeed gone down in the city.
Ok that makes sense now. I’m watching this thinking something is just so off with this. The audio mix, the crowd vibe, the seemingly thrown together set, almost like the event coordinator was like “who’s available of note that can we can place on the bill?”
The fact that people are so delusional about the crowd reaction is just ridiculous -This was not a Journey concert and even with that said everybody is not going to be a Journey fan people are so damn stupid these days and worship celebs
This is kind of sad. That the crowed would not show any real emotion. This may have been near the end of Journey with steve perry. But still he deserves the respect for what he did for the band.
+Lee Ann Landis don't blame the crowd, the singer is very boring. He made a fool out of himself. To think he's being compared to Arnel Pineda and he's not even near AP's range not by a mile. I will not go to SP concert even if he pays me. Horrible to listen.
Magdalena Dela Pena don't u think people when they get old they do not lose a little of there voice and also steve is the main and always the singer arnel is nowhere where steve is if I had to give arnel it would be 0
I adore Steve Perry's voice! I also love how he interacts with his audience. Steve, you'll always be known as one of the great voices of our time. Keep on keepin' on, Steve. 🎶🎵
The crowd wasn't dead at all, it was simply because there were no mics pointed at the crowd, which could lead to the fact the recording could be directly from the soundboard.
How sad that young ppl now do not know what they missed. I may be old but i have memories of the best music ever created. Not just one or two bands or one or two sounds but hundreds of wonderful songs... many hours of listening pleasure. Journey is right up there. No offense to young people intended but i introduced my kids to my music they had that choice. To this day they love all kinds of music mine included. All parents need to give their kids a broader horizon. They may reject it and then come back to it...
I ENVY WITH PASSION EVERY SINGLE PERSON AT THAT CONCERT. you witnessed history in the making by watching Mr. Perry sing with Journey. what I wouldve given to be of proper age to go watch them. now we have to conform ourselves just with a sound-a-like. Mr. Perry "THE VOICE", MR. SCHON, "GUITAR MASTER PIECE". COULD WE PLEASE HAVE A REUNION JUST ONCE MORE?
@Steve Perry No disrespect but knowing Mr. Perry, hes not checking the comments posted on RUclips much or at all. Its very strange that out of all people that have commented, he'd answer me. Wonder who's crying now?
David Frosty yah because they expect the real sound of journey but unfortunately what they heard was a steve perry look alike not the real one.thumps up to arnel even ar his age 52 to still sounds like steve perry.
Apparently there were no audience mics. Sounds like a monitor mix which never pick up the crowd. All those live albums are either canned audience sounds or they had mics dedicated to the audience. Don't let this deceive you.
D'Single art Nice try. Arnel doesn’t at all sound like Steve Perry, he hasn’t even been singing in the original key for over 7 years now and he has a heavy accent. Arnel can’t even hit the high notes, go listen to the 2019 shows and the RRHOF award, he totally sucked.
Love Steve Perry ❤️,most beautiful voice ever. His voice melts me.I have been watching him since he started,I am now 62 and still when I hear him sing I'm a teenager again. He will always be my # 1.
I'm 52 in 2023, When I was a little kid I was alone every day in the summer on a big farm, it was very lonely but I had a portable radio with a tape deck, music was how I survived, I had Journey Infinity, Escape & Captured Live. I knew every lyric, every solo... and I Loved Caddyshack scene with Anyway you want it, everything Journey did was filled with good vibes and memorable melody. I haven't kept up with the band after Steve left but I had heard about Arnel but wasn't really interested. For some reason very recently I got curious and watched a few current videos, I was pleasantly surprised but mostly glad to hear Arnel doing his best to sing the legacy that is Steve Perry. The songs have been looping in my head every day lately, I would love to hear Steve sing with Journey once more, I feel like just for that moment we could turn back the clocks and maybe everyone could feel that way again, without the weight of time. So many of our great musicians have passed on, I'm glad to see so much love and respect for Steve, and hopefully he knows it and feels it. Too many times we don't show our true appreciation until they're gone. Stone In Love.
HE HAS BROUGHT US HUNDREDS AND HUNDREDS OF AMAZING SONGS AND CONCERTS, THAT SACRAFICE OF GREAT SONG WHICH HE BELTED OUT WAS FOR HIS FANS AND NOW THAT TIME AND WEAR HAS TAKEN A TOLL ON HIM IT SHOULD MAKE US LOVE HIM EVEN MORE NOT BE HATERS! THANK YOU STEVE FORE THE MUSIC, YOU WILL NEVER BE DUPLICATED OR BE REPLACED!!!!
I am posting this all over this thread: Steve was very sick with bronchitis at this concert but wanted to pay respects to the promoter, Bill Graham. He would go on to sing"When you Love a Woman", which was nominated for a Grammy!!
Amy, keep it up! These retards dont understand he is human and gets sick at times as well!! He’s #1 in the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and even now!! Always will be! 👍🏻👍🏻
Some people say everyone was not stoned or sleeping which is clear from the video that they were. They say it was a soundboard issue. Very bizarre excuse.
ABSOLUTELY NOBODY CAN FILL STEVE PERRY'S SHOES!! WHEN I WAS A TEENAGER AND EVEN NOW AS AN ADULT I STILL LOVE HEARING HIM SING AND HE IS ALSO SO VERY HANDSOME!

What the hell was wrong with this stupid crowd. Oh wait are the San Fransicans?, I have honestly never been to the ridestest place in the world. Sad. Only thing I think about San fransico is STEVE perry and his amazing songs.
History is the key word here, we should appreciate this last performance of these 3 guys. I'm not holding my breath of ever seeing this history repeat itself, Sadly
ya this was the bill graham memorial. I lived a few blocks away. I was there. sad how people were so hammered by that point and hot in the sun. Also, it sounds better here (recorded off the sound board) than it did in the crowd. pretty sure it was the first concert ever at the Polo Fields. didn't have it dialed in. Also, folks had been out there allll day, drinking, mourning Bill's untimely death. Lotsa veteran old schoolers there who's lives were shaped by what Bill Graham brought to SF Bay, hell- THE WORLD! people were fuuuuucked up! And sad. I sung my ASS off to journey's set and I will always love Steve Perry. One of the all time greatest singers in the world.
+David Pearl I was at this show, and very close to the front of the stage. It was a free memorial concert in Golden Gate Park for Bill Graham who had been killed in a helicopter crash the previous week. Very bad weather up until the day of this show. I got there EARLY and remember being close enough to hear the stage monitors and - during CSNYs acoustic set, their actual voices. The crowd was pretty quiet early in the day. The show dragged on FOREVER. Long changeover times for some reason. There was a REALLY long set from Carlos Santana. I remember wishing he would stop. Joe Satriani was very stiff, and Bobby McFerrin did what seemed like a LONG set of his stuff. I was there to see Neil Young who had been advertised; I don't recall Journey being advertised. Seems like it was something of a surprise when they walked out. I do remember thinking Perrys voice sounded really raspy that day. And the mullet was WAY past its expiration date. Their set was short. I wasn't impressed. I left as the Grateful Dead starting winding up - oddly, the crowd really expanded by that point (Deadheads) and started to get into it. John Fogerty joined them and they started playing (or mauling, depending on your perspective) the Creedence catalog just as I made it to the back of the field. Never looked back. Over 300,000 people the paper said the next day. In hindsight, none of the performances I saw were great. Most of the musicians were there because they had a personal connection to Graham and were, understandably, distressed. I was glad I got to see and hear, up close, CSNY in relatively good form. But I swore off huge shows like this, ever again. Not good for the performers, who can barely make contact with an audience so vast, its like a small city.
Faithfully here was played in the key of A. The original studio recording is in the key of B. is there a reason they tuned it down? Is it because Steve's range is already diminished here in 1991? Journey's current singer Arnel Pineda sings it in B today. I guess this really was the end for Steve and Journey because he hasn't performed live with Journey since then.
+Robb I used to get annoyed when I noticed a seasoned singer was modulating down to be able to hit all the notes in the song.... But it must be rough to do it over and over again with those high as hell notes, and for years. Seems Steve Perry was able to belt notes almost too high for some women to sing with his level of control.
+dolmadakia From someone who used to sing in bands. If you're used to playing at night around a certain time. You're body and voice get conditioned to that should you have to do a morning/afternoon gig like this. You're usually not at the top of your game.
This was a tribute concert to a friend who has passed-away. It's outdoors, and thus hard to hear the crowd. He, and they, are legends, my friends. He sounds good in any key. Just enjoy the talent while they are still with us.
Exactly he's a legend, made the group famous, and no 1 Rock group for how many year's? You won't hear another steve perry for ever because rock will never be what it was back then. And I feel sorry for the young generation today.
There will never be another voice like Steves... people will try and duplicate..but they won't have the heart and soul..and most importantly the voice... Steve Perry was and will always be Journey!!!!!! Thanks for posting
Can't help not to comment. Yeah your ryt, only now did i prove that he has his own voice. And no one would duplicate it. He sings perfectly that the crowd just stand there with their own minds God knows what they're thingking off. 😀
This was the memorial concert for the late Bill Graham who passed away 9 days prior to the event, so the mood was already established. And for 300k people in attendance, the energy was suttle to say the least. It was only to honor the king of all rock promoters. Also, Journey hadn't played together since 1987.
Same here. Was it a festival and there were other bands. I saw them a lot in the 80’s and Steve alone in 93 and people went nuts. Who are these wallflowers?
Perry is phenomenal and carried this performance. It seemed like it was a half-hearted backup effort by Cain and Schon and brought it down a notch but hey it was a tribute concert. I saw the video of the NYC concert of Steve from 1994 and he rocked the house with his powerful voice and sexy charisma and they showered him with love. I hope he attends the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony in April 2017. Perry truly deserves the honor. XO "The Voice."
Wow!!! What a Dead crowd can't believe those idiots wouldn't even sing!!! Total idiots😞😞😞STEVE YOU ARE THE BEST THIS COMING FROM A LITTLE BLACK LADY LOVE LOVE LOVE YOU❤❤❤
Does "Soft rock" get any better than this? I think not, they have people listening to their music who would never normally listen to this type of music. Its similar to what Kevin Cronin and Gary Rictchrath ( I probably spelled Garys last name wrong) did with Reo Speedwagon. That fusion of ballads and heavy rock guitar, when its done correctly it is a very beautiful thing to listen to. Reo Speedwagon is underrated in my opinion and should be mentioned in the same breath as Journey and Steve Perry. That's just my opinion, take care and peace! Also R.I.P to Gary, he will be missed in the music world.
Not sure I've ever seen such a dull crowd at a rock show. Especially the fact they were playing their hometown. Pretty sad. Steve and guys deserved so much better on this day.
Oh, it's because it's their hometown. People don't support people who do well in their own town. It's one of those awful things that people do. I'd give anything to get in a time machine and have been at the front.
Its obviously it's not they're crowd. I have seen Journey live 25+ times in my life starting with Infinity in 1979. This is NOT how a Journey crowd is live OMG, NOT even close. This is obviously not a Journey crowd. VERY sad. Even SP the consummate pump the crowd couldn't get these DEAD ASSES off they're ASSES to sing. I hate that he kept pushing the moment to, he acts DESPERATE trying to push a moment that's JUST NOT THERE 😤😤😤😤😤😤😤😤😤
I have been lucky enough to see Steve Perry and Journey play 5 or 6 times. He is the best VOICE out there. He is awesome. Love the new music Arnel has brought to Journey. He is doing a great job on keeping Journey in the scene. All of them have. XO ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
That crowd was disrespectful to him..they didn't deserve to habe the greatest singer of our generation there...steve Perry is an icon and a legend in the rock world.he done things that will never be done again.he had a voice that u could hear in the heavens above .he was truly the best of the best..ty Steve is the greatest there will never be another one like you..
Music was slower and Steve's voice was a little lower but he still sounds great. His newer music "Traces" is now his style and he sings it still with all his heart. I will always be Steve's fan until I am no longer here.

every single person in this audience should be ashamed of themselves...what a sad, pathetic crowd....they dont deserve to be there....i hope you see this.
thanks for noticing what I did too. Journey singing to their home crowd who seem completely indifferent.
Maybe they were disappointed, because Steve Perry's voice range, is not the same anymore.
A lot of young people in the audience. Remember in 1991, Journey weren't close to being cool anymore. Grunge was the flavor of the year.
Would have gotton a much livlier crowd in the SE, truely, this crowd is sad
exactly!
I feel so bad for the band here, especially when Steve says "cmon sing it at least once"
You know bands always have a bad day It happens but I'm still loving it
He was even crying when he said that
the big bad bull it was his dead friend’s memorial. He knew Bill Graham who died and this concert was dedicated to him.
The best singer ever!
Age of Qualudes?
Steve Perry is Journey! Beautiful voice 🎤🎶🎵🎸 🎹🥁 he's one of kind❤😊
Arnel Pineda does Journey so much justice. What an epic passing of the torch.👏👏🙏 However, Steve Perry stands alone as an amazing vocalist!!!
No effort..Steve Perry is natural!
AP is more of a mimic, in the vein of tribute bands he is great.
Arnel Pineda is better on stage presentation, energized the people, likeable, and a good singers yeah 👍💯 saved the journey!!!!
Me too, I saw them with Santana.
Truth.
Steve Perry's is by far the greatest vocalist that Journey has ever had.
He may be the greatest male vocalist of all times. ❤
these idiots were standing in front of greatness...possibly the greatest voice of all times!!! love Steve Perry♥♥♥♥
sdeeley1949 Freddy Mercury?
bob miller ...come out of the closet, sweety......you'll get rid of the anger...🌈🌈
Dang! They need wake up to Steve Perry! I wud roar like a lion if i was there!
I was there every one was singing for some reason you can't hear it.
BOB MILLER, glad you said it, love you for that!!!👍🏻Steve Perry is the VOICE!
He makes his phenomenal singing look and sound so effortless. A voice for the generations.
Steve Perry is soooo gifted! His voice is pure joy, his humor delightful, his intelligence impressive and his appearance appreciated---what more could anyone ask for? Bless you, Steve!
@Henry Fung you are so right!!
A kiss from this delightful man:-)
He was fighting being sick.I saw in a interview. Still sweet to hear his voice
How about the present vocalist, arnel pineda?
Huh?
Sad to see the crowd so unresponsive. Truly the music was changing then, Steve was a great performer. He has been missed greatly!
Looks like they were opening for the Grateful Dead. That may explain the crowd
Loved journey
Steve was just that bad. I felt sorry for them. Proves though that he wasn’t perfect. 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️
He was sick and was fighting a virus
One of my fav bands if all time!!! No one can sing like Steve Perry!
I remember the crappy music that was being played in '91. My oldest son was a 'tween, and I told my kids it was ROT GUT. They're all grown and have kids of their own. Wanna know what they listen to now? JOURNEY WITH STEVE PERRY!! This crowd was shameful.
Journey Is loved from near and far. Steve and Neil's guitar is simply a great connection only to one of my favorite bands ever.
The concert was a tribute / funeral for Bill Graham, legendary bay area promoter. It's not like people were totally partying and this performance was also in the morning...just trying to give a little perspective on this concert...
Wow, goosebumps.
I'm forever yours. What emotion. Can't find the words. My job/ projects take me many miles. This song comes on and I get goosebumps
I'm 46 years old and this band is still my favorite and now also my boys favorite. Thank God they are back and Arnel the new singer is pretty good trying his best to bring the band back to life.
My god Steve Perry has a gifted voice. One of the best I miss you Steve
I Love Steve's raspy voice Love his singing!
the crowd is sleeping meanwhile the best band ever is playing. we would all light ourselves on fire to hear journey play here in 2022..
Well, I don't know that I would light myself on fire, but close. lol
Victoria H. the spontaneous human combustion means one less thing to worry about. 😃
Do you have a playbook about
how the crowd should have acted? If you were there, you would have felt the bond that the people of the Bay area felt- coupled with some of the greatest musicians who got their start here and wanted to show their gratitude. Probably another tragedy will rival this day, which is what it will take, unfortunately, to understand how powerful and meaningful this day was to all of us who were there.
I think you got that right! Lol
His voice was perfection... still beautiful even today.
Point on!😘
@Steve Perry You are so welcome....I have been a fan of yours ever since you joined Journey and I also enjoy your solo work as well....I'm originally from the bay area as well...The last time I was home visiting family and friends, I went to see Journey (2015) with Arnel singing and I enjoyed it but it wasn't the same.....Arnel is an awesome singer but he isn't you!!
I also love Don't Stop Believin, Send Her My Love, Open Arms, Faithfully, Party's Over.....ect....I could go on and on.....lol
I love all your solo work as well. I'm really happy that your sharing your music with us fans again. ..your a true Blessing!! Take care of yourself and God Bless you!!! Janette
The crowed are a bunch of deadbeats! I would have given anything to see these guys that day! Steve Perry is "THE VOICE!!!!"
This was at Bill Grahams funeral
You just couldn't hear the crowed we were singing along with him. I was there it was great!!!
I was there also. I'm in 100% agreement with you.
He was great. You guys were pretty dull though.
Bill Graham funeral
One of the most talented Men on Earth!! Just hearing your voice still gives me butterflies 🦋
Bill Graham was an amazing person. And Journey….the best!
@@stacymuise1
Wise men still seek Him .
The fact that people are so delusional about the crowd reaction is just ridiculous -This was not a Journey concert and even with that said everybody is not going to be a Journey fan people are so damn stupid these days and worship celebs
I was there too. My wife and I walked there from our apt on Lincoln Way. It was somber but amazing!
THIS IS ABSOLUTELY AWESOME~Journey sing together( again) wished they would do it again.
Steve Perry has the voice of an Angel I love hearing him sing
It's definitely a Memorial. There's no way that any Steve Perry fan would ever be that calm and quiet. I would love to see Steve Perry perform now.
+Magdalena Dela Pena guys he old so stop they haven't played alot together like in the 90s
+Magdalena Dela Pena He's singing in lower keys for whatever reason, we don't know, and this makes him bad?
He was sick as a dog!
Magdalena Dela Pena don't u think people when they get old they do not lose a little of there voice and also steve is the main and always the singer arnel is nowhere where steve is if I had to give arnel it would be 0
sigh....I just love Steve Perry...I miss him so much
I adore Steve Perry's voice! I also love how he interacts with his audience. Steve, you'll always be known as one of the great voices of our time. Keep on keepin' on, Steve. 🎶🎵
What is wrong with this crowd? They are watching a legend. We ❤ u Steve Perry/Journey.
If they only knew what the situation would be 30 years later...
And San Francisco is their hometown
I know sad, huh? And in their own hometown too.
The crowd wasn't dead at all, it was simply because there were no mics pointed at the crowd, which could lead to the fact the recording could be directly from the soundboard.
Hello....how are you doing today?
this is beautiful, I loved Steve Perry and Journey it's too bad they broke up
The crowd didn’t deserve this performance.
I was just thinking wtah is wrong with that crowd?!?!?
They were probably wondering wheres the rest of the band....
In reality - they had no idea what they were looking at. The end of an era.
it was a funeral for Bill Graham
How sad that young ppl now do not know what they missed. I may be old but i have memories of the best music ever created. Not just one or two bands or one or two sounds but hundreds of wonderful songs... many hours of listening pleasure. Journey is right up there. No offense to young people intended but i introduced my kids to my music they had that choice. To this day they love all kinds of music mine included. All parents need to give their kids a broader horizon. They may reject it and then come back to it...
I LOVE YOU STEVE PERRY! You ARE Journey!
I miss Steve Perry with his gorgeous long hair!
me too :)
me three .. 😉
Me too... 😥😭😭
one could get lost in that hair 🥰
Same here ⭐
Steve Perry, thank you for your voice.
I feel so horrible for the group Journey. And angry and disgusted at the audience. What's wrong with the audience? These guys are legends!!!
No kidding
This was tribute / funeral concert for Bill Graham, legendary bay area concert promoter.
Maybe they should open with something more rocking than faithfully
A whole new generation. They are not intrested in good music.
San Francisco
Steve Perry the best voice ever!!!❤️❤️❤️
I used to live by GG PARK before this concert. It was in walking distance . Damn
@@pauletteschiowitz8989 what a bummer!!
I don’t think the people there even cared, that’s what is so painful.
Worst crowd ever. They didn't deserve to even be there.
@Ernest T for REALS !!
@@babyair8172 do you not have eyes? That is Steve Perry. Lay off the pipe , lol.

Steve Perry The real Journey
That’s right Nancy, I still dream about the man. I just found out he had a daughter. I’d forever his💕💕💕
Indeed but arnel Pineda help keep the journey into journey.
Correct, steve perry true legend but arnel pineda save journey

Hello Laura..... how are you doing?
If you want to see crowd emotion, watch Steve Perry live in NY in 1994. The crowd loved him.
The crowd loves them here..it is just that this was a funeral for friend Bill Graham
Truthfully, I don't think it had anything to do with the funeral. They were probably deadhead fans stoned and waiting for the GD to perform.
Ann Sebastiano k
Same in 1981 in KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI.
Houston was a boom too
Steve perry and freddy mercury are true legends
I have to add George Michael♥️
Absulote my song is a viry nice

@ Diana Salazar,
Very Well Said. I Totally Agree.
Diana Salazar, thank youi agree 100 percent!!!
Diana Salazar I’m with you 100%! HE’S BACK FOR US NOW!!!!! 2018
They must of been the age group who didnt have a clue on the best music ever performed and written
Some people say everyone was not stoned or sleeping which is clear from the video that they were. They say it was a soundboard issue. Very bizarre excuse.
ABSOLUTELY NOBODY CAN FILL STEVE PERRY'S SHOES!! WHEN I WAS A TEENAGER AND EVEN NOW AS AN ADULT I STILL LOVE HEARING HIM SING AND HE IS ALSO SO VERY HANDSOME!

just saying that
What the hell was wrong with this stupid crowd. Oh wait are the San Fransicans?, I have honestly never been to the ridestest place in the world. Sad. Only thing I think about San fransico is STEVE perry and his amazing songs.
CeeCee Diamond it was a free concert full of dead heads( Greatful Dead fans). That’s why they have no idea about Journey.
Even Jesus couldn't preach to his home town!
he had throat cancer, that's why he had to retire.
Drea Dumplin he had hip replacement surgery, never throat cancer. He had melanoma couple years ago removed.
Steve Perry the best ever!!🥰🥰🥰
Journey had been broken up for 4 years at this point. Did not know this even existed. Special piece of music history!
Música linda!! Vc também 😘
Exactly same thoughts. Wonderful surprise.
Jonathan cain, neal schon & deen castronovo were members of rock band bad english way back in 1991 then..
What a fucking nightmare--the crowd is fucking dead...The last time Journey ever did a show with Steve Perry...
Seems Steve Perry was able to belt notes almost too high for some women to sing with his level of control.
well said
+dolmadakia From someone who used to sing in bands. If you're used to playing at night around a certain time. You're body and voice get conditioned to that should you have to do a morning/afternoon gig like this. You're usually not at the top of your game.
Steve Perry you're absolutely awesome ❤️
This was a tribute concert to a friend who has passed-away. It's outdoors, and thus hard to hear the crowd.
He, and they, are legends, my friends. He sounds good in any key. Just enjoy the talent while they are still with us.

Steve Perry one of the best voices, and never will replaced. Unique voice. Faithfully my favorite.

I believe this performance is only just a single one where they did it together, since they only officially reunited in 1995.
The majority of these people have no idea what a great artist they missed hearing. A legend. I would have given a kidney to hear him.
yah because they expect the real sound of journey but unfortunately what they heard was a steve perry look alike not the real one.

Damm right Steve Perry and Journey the greatest rock bands of all time!!!!!!
Total idiots😞😞😞STEVE YOU ARE THE BEST THIS COMING FROM A LITTLE BLACK LADY LOVE LOVE LOVE YOU❤❤❤
Ive always wondered what life would be like today if his previous group, Alien Project didnt go down the tubes after the death of their drummer?
I seen them back in 82 great night along with foighner and foghat
Not very enthusiastic crowd! They're all sleeping, it seems!
How could they be so cold and indifferent, listening to this exceptional voice?
I couldn't even watch all of this. I'm stunned by the lack of love and emotions of such an ungrateful audience.
This man's has always had a very soulful voice
The VOICE! ...When you think about it...everything else is just a wanna be copy of what symbolizes perfection!
I'd give anything to get in a time machine and have been at the front.
yeah no shit..that was horrible....
It’s a Grateful Dead crowd. Surprised they don’t like Journey though?
Its obviously it's not they're crowd. I have seen Journey live 25+ times in my life starting with Infinity in 1979. This is NOT how a Journey crowd is live OMG, NOT even close. This is obviously not a Journey crowd. VERY sad. Even SP the consummate pump the crowd couldn't get these DEAD ASSES off they're ASSES to sing. I hate that he kept pushing the moment to, he acts DESPERATE trying to push a moment that's JUST NOT THERE 😤😤😤😤😤😤😤😤😤
According to others, the crowd was lively, it’s just that they didn’t have mics that picked them up because this audio was taken from the soundboard

Give him and the world of rock notice that he is loved beyond a shadow of a doubt. Leave no room for doubt that it was because of him that Journey got in and is still loved today. Don't rely on anything or anyone but yourself to do this. COME LET'S DO THIS!!!
I'd pay 1000 to see Steve with journey gladly...that said I wouldn't go to a greatful dead show if they paid me 500.00
