Lyrics:
It's been so long
Since I've seen her face
You say she's doin' fine
I still recall
A sad cafe
How it hurt so bad to see her cry
I didn't want to say good-bye
Send her my love, memories remain
Send her my love, roses never fade
Send her my love - Видеоклипы
My mom is the woman at 00:48 She absolutely loved Journey and the fact she made it into this video always made her so happy. She would talk about this moment all the time, especially when Journey would come on the radio. We ended up playing this song at her funeral in her memory when she passed away from cancer.
Your mom is beautiful and I’m so sorry for your loss.

Yes, from Brazil....Still hear tais beautiful song, forever Steve Perry!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
All the time!
1983
Remember kids...they're not using auto tune. This is what's called talent.
HAHAH the younger ages wouldn't even know what you're talking about! But you are so correct - 100% PURE talent!
As Steve sings: "Roses never fade". Talent will never die! ❤
Not live. It's an old MTV video. The studio version dubbed over concert footage
@@bindig1I didn't say it was live. I said they don't use auto tune...which is ALWAYS used in studio these days.
Steve Perry.....The Voice ❤❤❤❤
Its 2024 Hope you're listening to Steve Perry/Journey. Please say YES?

You bet yes 💯👍😎👍
No other voice tops, Steve Perry!

With 26 million views....I'd say that's a resounding yes....Those of lucky to be alive and remember it when it was released in 1983, knew then it was a Mega hit....Journey filled stadiums because of songs like this.
Love this forever and ever!
Steve Perry is #1
No auto tune, no cell phones, just a bunch of people witnessing the greatest singer of all time and enjoying every minute of it. Steve Perry is a treasure!

Not to mention.. shoulder pads.
Yes, and this unmatched out-of-another-world feeling.
The greatest male vocalist I have ever seen live, and I have been seeing live music for over 40 years 😊
I guess you missed Ronnie James Dio :(
I saw him live also. I will never forget how his voice filled the arena. He made me cry. So beautiful!
Still listening in 2024, grew up on Steve....he is one of a kind!!!❤
This is probably one of the saddest, most hauntingly beautiful songs from the 80s. In an era dominated by the power ballad, this song(and band) was on an entirely different level
Open arms was the first power ballad ever and of course it was Steve Perry and Journey
For me this and "Once you love somebody" both songs always make sad because of the one that got away
Absolutely agree
I remember as a teenager in Orlando Florida ...the Tampa station played the hell out of this song but from could only get that station when the weather was just right ...when I heard the intro the hair on my arms stood up and goose bumps appeared and I'd sing along ...I remember the dark room with only the light of stereo dial .... The mood was awesome
This is a beautiful and accurate description right here
There will never be another Steve Perry!!! His voice is priceless ♥️

God, I would give anything to go back to these days. Anything.

I’ve actually given thought to this and I don’t think you want to go back to the 1980s. I think if we could we would be miserable. Sure it was a great decade and we can look back fondly and romanticize it but we did not have the technology back then as we do today especially medicine as well as the things that are familiar to us today.
@@gmar7836 you can't miss what you never had

Yes yes he's one of all time greats 😅❤

Steve poured his heart and soul into every single performance!

Oh Yeah!!!
Ur so right
How can Steve sound better live than in studio? God what a talent. We'll never see this again. Not even close.
It's not really live. The studio track is dubbed over this. He was great live though.
Simon Ballister Not live vocal. It’s the studio version. So it’s not better it’s identical.
Yeah. Clearly. Good catch.
Very sad indeed!!!
It's dubbed with the studio version. But, he does sound great live unlike the artists today. Back then artists actually had talent.
No one can touch his vocal range!! Best vocalist ever!!❤❤❤
I saw Journey in 1978, OMG, couldn't get enough.
I took my girl to a Journey concert and watched her cry her eyes out. Steve simply mesmerizes the ladies.
I guess even boys, as it shows on the video. LOL!
He certainly does and he still does. I recently saw him interviewed on CBS and still has that sexy magnetism...... you were a awesome boyfriend

This song was written by Jonathan Cain and Steve. He told this story that a friend of his ex-girlfriend came backstage after a show and told Jonathan his ex said “hello” and his response was “Send her my love”. Less than a week later, Jonathan and Steve wrote the song in 2 hours.

Now...56 still love this music. Memories
I was born in the 50's and grew up listening to music and rock bands from the 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's. I was a "classic rock" music fan and I saw a lot of the classic rock bands in concert live. My girlfriend back in the early 80's literally dragged me to a Journey concert because they weren't really my cup of tea. It only took that one concert to convert me. I had never heard a band or a lead singer that sounded better live than they did on vinyl. I was blessed to see them 5 more times live. Speaking from experience - NO ONE was better than Steve Perry and Journey. When my kids turned into teenagers they asked me if I wanted to go to a Journey concert (because they grew up listening to Journey in my car and in our house) with them. I asked if Steve Perry was singing - if it ain't Steve it ain't Journey.

Saw Journey live in early '83. (Warm-up was Bryan Adams). Enjoyed it but didn't think much about the fact that I actually witnessed one of the greatest vocal performers ever. I've told this to my daughter and her friends (all early 20's) and they were fascinated that I actually saw Journey with Steve Perry live!
I also saw Journey in 1983 w/Bryan Adams opening for them. My daughter and her son, my grandson, are jealous when I tell them about seeing one of the greatest singers in person.
Where was this concert?
@@danahudnall4765 I believe JFK Colosseum in Philadelphia. It's torn down now.
I absolutely remember that tour! The Detroit shows were incendiary! All the Canadians showed up for Bryan so the whole concert was at max intensity from the very first minute, standing for the entire time. Damn it was GOOD to be young in the 80's!
So lucky!
Lotta Journey fans here lol. I love this song.. did Perry actually sound this good live? It sounds like a sped up version of the album.. his vocals are SO perfect
Perry sounds the same in concert as on master record. Seen them in Atlanta in 1986. Fantastic show
He does sound great live and arguably better live. Check this out: ruclips.net/video/SIjjh_PRmU8/видео.htmlsi=JSHvLxukwwJWoFFz
0:25 he was lip syncing. Pretty obvious
Perry never lip synced in any of his concerts, sputnik, only on a few TV shows (Midnight Special 1979, in Germany too...) where they weren't given a choice. Here, they just edited concert footage with the original studio recording, as was often done for official music videos. You can listen to the real recording if you want to compare: "Journey - Live in Philadelphia (June 4th, 1983) - Send Her My Love", posted by _Journey Live Compilations._
My favorite Journey song!
Its not Journey without Steve Perry...His voice still gives me the chills!
Agreed he shouldn't have left the band :(
Richard Sanchez I know🥺😢
Steve is older and he can't belt out singing this intense anymore. As for Steve leaving Journey, he simply pushed his will on the band to the point of ultimatums which simply caused the breakup of Journey. I was lucky to see Journey three times in their prime and 3 times after Perry's departure; I agree without Perry in his prime that something is lost but their steadfast continuity after Perry is respectable especially with Steve Smith back on drums where he is crucial to Journey's sound.
John Keller When he stopped singing, he lost a lot. I was in the Broadway show Annie & could sing like an angel but stopped. Never regained it. Of course Steve isn’t able to sing some of the higher notes & doesn’t have the range he did in his prime however, he still sounds incredible! I’m so glad he’s back & sharing his talent with us once again❤️
John Keller Depending on who you believe, he was basically forced out of the band. I’m my opinion, ALL three played a role in him not being there.
Steve Perry greatest voice in rock, he made journey famous with his voice and the songs he written
Wrong
Geddy Lee of rush is slightly better. I love them both tho.
Beau Eybel no you’re wrong. Steve Perry and Robert Plant are way better than Geddy Lee.

I was also listening to this on Super Bowl, Sunday, brother.
Good stuff
