    Every time Nick mentions "many fans" with regard to Phaedra: it's me 🤚🏾🤚🏾. I'm one of the many. Yes, she has funny one-liners and dramatic expressions, and for the purposes of The Traitors only, I can enjoy the antics.
    But for me: Phaedra has shown herself to be willing to lie on friends or foes at the slightest provocation (season 9 being the absolute worst), has organized others to antagonize people, never apologizes, and worse - acts as if others should just get over her behavior because she's moved on. There is no way that Apollo is cunning enough to develop the fraudulent schemes for which he was convicted all by himself. And Phaedra's comfort with concocting and/or spreading such heinous, life-altering allegations against her former "friend" (like, Phaedra was a bridesmaid in Kandi's wedding) and allowed to grow for almost a year w/o the slightest indication of concern or remorse is beyond.
    Point of clarification: Kandi is sex-positive but never had a sex-dungeon in her basement (Kandi has a scene where she makes clear that she'd never lie about that b/c it'd be a cool thing to have). However, as the consummate businesswoman Kandi did produce a Dungeon Experience live tour after the entire plot was exposed.

    • @elainefromplb8947
      @elainefromplb8947 11 месяцев назад +13

      It's not scripted, just produced. The network assembles a group of women that can be framed as a "friend group," with the expectation that there will be both conflict and conflict resolution among them. Some do this more authentically than others. The women are also expected to showcase what's going on in their personal lives as well. Again, some do this more authentically than others. In general, good Housewives respond realistically to stimuli that probably exists only because they're in a specific circumstance -- on a reality show and surrounded by a specific group of women -- while earning the audience's investment because of their compelling personal stories. "Crimes" are rare -- only two Housewives (out of like 160) have been sent to prison. And that's for stuff they were doing outside the show itself.

    • @reneepope-munro8115

      It is very much not scripted.

    • @msbrownsuga
      @msbrownsuga 11 месяцев назад +2

      And in some cases the groups did originally develop from real friend groups in a particular community, and watching how those women change as they become more noteworthy and as fans choose favorites is fascinating too.

    Wow. This was…. A lot. Obviously these ladies are making “good” TV, but the more details I hear the more I feel like their brand of “good” is not the kind of drama I want in what I have thus far (watched 2 previous franchises) considered an exciting and respectable new strategy game that has a level of sophistication and seriousness. These folks feel like Hantz level ugh.
    Might be the unpopular opinion, and that’s fine, but these thoughtful and serious game players, the Dans and the Ciries and Sandras of the world, are being cheapened by them.

      @elainefromplb8947 11 месяцев назад +16

      This video covers the sensational aspects of the Housewives, focusing on their big personalities. Fundamentally, "Housewives" is a docu-soap about women and their relationships. The cycle of conflict and conflict resolution that's expected of them as a result of the narrative form is not prodded by any game mechanics (as on the competition shows) -- they actually have to offer it, or create it, themselves. That's why they're good at both making friends and making enemies, while maintaining a sense of ensemble. I personally think this makes them ideal for a show like "Traitors."
