    ----ABOUT THIS VIDEO-----
We have lost over 160 pounds by changing our diet and our lifestyle. In this video, we talk about how we looked and felt before we lost weight. We discuss why we adopted the diet we adopted, how we felt after we began losing weight, and some of the things we learned along our weight loss journey.
We were really sick and suffered from a wide variety of issues from high blood pressure to hormonal issues and pre-diabetes. We adopted a whole food plant based (vegan) diet after eating Eat to Live by Dr. Joel Fuhrman, and then we cut processed sugar and flour after reading Bright Line Eating by Dr. Susan Pierce Thompson.
We feel 1000% times better, and wanted to share our journey in case it can help motivate or inspires someone else on their weight loss journey. We have a number of other videos on meal prep, healthy eating, and pantry essentials.

I grew up a meat-loving carnivore but lately I can't stand anything about meat, especially the knowledge of consuming something that used to be a breathing, living thing with legs and a face. Now I go for the vegan "meats" that taste so much better than real meats ever did, and my body feels a lot better now too without all the toxic animal chunks rotting away in it. Plus I've lost a little weight already.

I went plant based a long time ago but i quickly lost 80 lbs by diet change alone and have been the same weight for years now. I lost 9 sizes on just my pants. Im a short guy so it is terribly hard to find clothing now but i guess thats a good problem lol. What you eat is the most important thing you can do for yourself. My only regret was that i didnt do it sooner and while i was in my 20s haha.

And right now i am taking this a day at a time. I do not want to be unhealthy anymore. I am so tired of how I have been feeling. I only hope I can see the results not just with weight loss but a lot of issues that I am facing. I feel very confident about eating this way. I am also 6'5". Just started being vegan and I am 76 yrs young. Only just started 3 weeks ago and have lost 14 lbs. My wife is not on board yet but definitely could use this program so I have to do this on my own. Started this time at 265 lbs.
I am lazy so I am blending my fruits and vegetables. I started doing this 3 times a day but now I am down to twice a day. I am doing this for health reasons.
I am a new diabetic, have high cholesterol, high blood pressure, 3rd stage kidney failure, irregular heartbeat, fatty liver. My doctor has recommended stanton for high cholesterol and glipizides for high blood sugar. so I am hoping to reverse some or all of these conditions. I was shooting for may 220 but you look amazing at 180.
I was 185 when i graduated from high school but by the end of my freshman year was 235 because of a milk machine an beer. Have never lost any of it since then. My highest was 280. Wish me luck.

This was so good for me to hear. I am a tall girl too at 6’ and even though I wasn’t overweight when I was younger, I struggled with an eating disorder for many years. I stopped the purging but not the binging. I eventually went Vegan, lost a lot of weight, and then started eating a junk food Vegan diet and gained the weight back plus more. I have autoimmune issues causing arthritis and Hashimoto’s so my immune system and hormones are out of balance. This was really inspiring and look forward to more info from your channel.

I have Diabetes and PCOS and I've been a Vegan for a week. I feel Great! The first two day I found that I was always hungry so I added more protein to my diet, now I feel so good...

🥀 Hi ! I started watching Yazemeenah Rossi's RUclips video today, with Shannon as her guest, and I had to stop watching so I could watch this video first, so I'd understand the weight loss journey you were speaking about. WOW !! GREAT JOB, you two !! I'm inspired by you both ! I've been on a better eating, daily exercise regimen since Feb. of this year (2021) beginning at 201 lbs, and am currently weighing in at 168.8 lbs. I feel so much better ! What jolted me into this healthier lifestyle was my Dr telling me if my blood sugar continued to creep up, we'd be having a pre-meds-diabetes talk at my next appointment. It scared me ! I went home and began planning the following day ! Whew !! I am so much happier, and feel stronger than I have in years !! Did I mention I'm turning 60 this month ?? lol
Thank you so much for sharing your journey with us !! Good luck in all your future endeavors, and God Bless !! Love you guys ! 😍🌹

I love this! I have been on so many diets and fad weight loss programs. I also look for the right now weight loss instead of a healthy long term fix. Up until recently I ate foods I thought were healthy but found out with more research and no weight loss that the foods were terrible still for my body. This video is very inspirational for me and since I know Shannon personally and have all faith in her I know I could trust the program and maybe this is exactly what I need. THANK YOU! Cant wait to see more

DIY Couple, ya'll are super awesome and encouraging! I know exactly how you used to feel and I'm on a journey to be healthy.
I just lost 20 lp in 1 month. The only thing i did was quit junk food. This includes candy, soda, pizza, potato chips, fast food, energy drinks, etc. I really love bread and diary so i decided to quit those too. To replace the junk food, I ate kale, spinach, olive oil, coconut oil, fruits, and once a week home baked potato. To replace the creamer in my coffee, I had KetoCreamer (which was really great). I did have yogurt once a week. I did have a serving of a desert 1 time a week on weekends. Now that I'm entering my second month, I realize that I need to eat more protein. Way back when i was in college, I was working out an hour a day and eating really healthy salads with a side of meat. Due to fatigue, my metabolism collapsed and I just started eating everything bad- consequently I gained 100 lb. Looking back now I realize I wasn't eating enough protein. I over worked my muscles and didn't feed them right. Now, I'm considering becoming a vegan and looking at veggies high in protein. I want to be healthier than i was in college! And i want to be this healthy for life!

I too got my kickstart with the Eat To Live plan. Dr. Thurman's plan led to my total plant based eating lifestyle. Total loss 132 pounds but now living within a 122 pound maintenance range. It's been hard but amazing. I enjoyed this video so much. I've not read the BLE book but my friend has and has made a different in her. I've eat her her videos online and have enjoyed them. I have an erratic exercise schedule right now, and don't know how much that is playing into my stall out. Or so it seems. Maybe my mind needs a break from it all. Looking back reminds where I've been and I desire to move forward.

You rock thank you for sharing you give me hope I’m 44 and 5”5 and weigh 237 I have so many health issues and basically tried every diet out there 😥 today is day five for me on a raw vegan diet I have been vegetarian for the past 6 months and only lost 16 lbs 🥺 I do intermediate fasting as well ...also detoxing my body for the past year or so I just really felt nothing would work so I was in the process of going threw with the lap band but my dr will not permit the surgery he says I’m to high of a risk 😒 so this was my next step hoping and praying it worked but so difficult the 2nd day I snuck and gorged a whole bag of French fries so my will power and disciple is weak but if I don’t do something quick I might not be here to see my 7yr old son grow up so it’s do or die !! You two are such a inspiration thank you once again for being so transparent and allowing us to see your story 💪🏼 your amazing big hugs congrats to you both 🥳

Well done guys. I can really relate to yr stories. I struggled with weight since a child too.
I use food to comfort, when I feel stressed to eat more. My weight was a yoyo, i used exercise to keep me trimmed. When I took on full time job 4 months ago, stopped exercising worked longer more stressed. The job and the promotion gained me a stone!
In the last 11days I decided to go plant based life style. I love it, for the first time I felt I can truly eat good carbs. Rice, veg, beans and potatoes makes me feel full! I dont binge or overeat as much anymore. Lost 5-6lbs in 11days too!
Way to live, more happier inside. 🙏😘
