  • If I had the opportunity to talk to someone who was just starting Bright Line Eating, and I could give them just one piece of advice to guide their entire journey, it would be this: resolve to become a maintenance maestro.
We have an entire body of work, a full curriculum if you will, available for our Bright Lifers Membership community around how to do maintenance and do it well, how to get into the right mindset and take it seriously. The weight loss phase is great, but the magic of Bright Line Eating lies in transitioning carefully and intentionally to a maintenance plan, and then maintaining that weight loss with the support of our loving community who has walked that path before you. It’s a set of skills, and there’s a lot to it. People return to Bright Line Eating again and again because staying the course in maintenance requires more than just a food plan.

I failed at maintenance. As in I didn’t live the maintenance journey. I started BLE January 1, 2021 and lost 65lbs in 28 weeks. Here I am 2 years later and I have gained 40lbs. I am 55 years old, 5’8” and 191lbs. I am a pain management patient as I have had 4 back surgeries and my spine is fused C4-7 & T2-pelvis. This means that I have 4 vertebrae untouched by hardware. My flexibility is Zero and activities are severely limited. BLE worked for me because it did not require exercise. Although within a week of BLE I had more energy and less pain. I can say that my pain was very well managed when I was BLEating. I know that sugar, flour and processed food cause a lot of inflammation in my body and causes pain, which severely affects my brain function. So today is my reboot day. I have the tools I just need to use them. 🙏🙏

Yay, SPT! ❤🎉 I love this advice. I am in Bootcamp 2.0, and I so appreciate your wisdom and guidance. You have the eagle-eye view that i dont have. I am glad you shared this. It's a good heads up for me to set my sights on being a Maintenance Maestro.

I needed, no, REALLY NEEDED to hear this!! I've reached goal weight twice and crashed both times trying to adjust to maintenence! I am currently reading the book AGAIN and getting myself mentally, physically and emotionally ready to start BLE again Monday!! I love the idea of starting with maintenence in mind. I already know I can get there but the difference will be a successful transition to and through maintenence. Thank you!!

I would like to start BLE! However what has been stopping me is the feeling of overwhelm because I have ADHD. Which means that the planning and the choice management when you are exposed to the «noise» of everyday life and being a mom to a small child, usually conpletely depletes me. Spesifically when you have to be around everywhere and not always have control over what food is avaliable. I also have a complex job with a lot of intelectual activity. With all of that I am afraid that BLE might trigger my OCD and at the same time completely deplete my executive function points since it requires so much planning and adjustment on top of an already limited suply of those exac points😅 that are being spent on to just getting to administer daily life in an ok way. I fear that because I also am hypersensitive, which is a known trait of ADHD in women. At the same time, I really do want to try. ADHD is a neurological condition. Do you have any thoughts on how I should approach my BLE journey while having a hectic life and also ADHD? By the way, I have just got diagnosed at the age of 33, so definitely one of those lost girls in the way:p please help ❤

My belly is flatter than this lady's and I am wanting to lose belly fat so I am not too confident about this weight loss plan.
