Thank you for showing all the techniques, I am so glad that RUclips exists. I would never have come further than making simple projects. Because I self educated 50 years ago and didn’t meet a lot of people that mastered frivolité. Even the union ring was a mystery for me, I only got to making bows around a center ring. Although the pattern described it different. Someone showing how to do it makes for me all the difference. 🙏
Bravo!...enjoyed watching ......ooops ,my mind still 😇😇😇... ...hoping to try the wallace as it would be first ever time i will make onion ring with MR...... must i remember that this mock ring has no loop!.. 😮 Thanks for sharing ❤🙋♀️ ...Monique, plz confirm; does the long picot measure 1 cm when closed .right? It said ,2 cm when closed, in the video...a bit confusing to me....
Onion rings are another of my favourites - I have soooo many favourites! 😆 Let me know how you go with the MR. I use a 1cm gauge, but it gets looped around the working thread which actually wraps the thread 4 times - giving you a picot that measures 4cm when OPEN. So your closed picot needs to measure 2cm. I hope that helps!
@@NooBearAusoh, i have started wellace and made 2cm open picot....may be i won't twist it then......lets see.... I have yet to make next onion ring .....its quite a learning experience to me ...... The well labelled time stamps are v helpful...Great job 👍👍 Well, i finally did it! I connected picots as in alice ,though without twisting.modified ch.count as 1ds ,vsp, 4 ds ,lp ,4 ds,vsp 1ds. Hav a query, if u can answer plz. If i had done ch as 4ds lp 4ds , would it hav been ok.is the join after 1 ds really imp? I presumed🤔 it is for anchoring MR Onion ring?
I am pretty new to tatting. I can make a ring, a chain and basic join. If I work slowly and carefully is this pattern doable for a relative novice? I applied to your facebook group in the hopes of being able to get the pattern. I just want to try something different from the endless edging I have been doing for practice.
Onion rings are intermediate level - but there is no reason why you wouldn't be able to do it! The only techniques you may not have done yet are the lock join and twisted picots. Every technique shown in this video has it's own beginner video which is much slower and explains the technique in detail, you're also welcome to message me if you have any questions! Looking forward to having you in my fb group. Please be sure to answer ALL the questions and agree to group rules so you are allowed in. Can't wait to see your Alice and Wallace motifs 🙂
@@NooBearAus TY so much! I was Accepted last night (StitchWolf) and got the pattern. I have the pattern Printed. Just waiting on some thread and my new shuttles which should be arriving today to get started. (My original Aerlit shuttles hurt my hands so badly trying to spool off thread so I am trying some like yours).
@@myrany8407 Oooooh! You're Stitch Wolf! Love the name btw....hope your new shuttles help, I didn't really like the aerlit ones - but shuttles are personal preferance!
