Thank you 😊 just a warning, If you do try needle tatting you will become addicted 😁. JK. It's a beautiful craft, try it and see if it's something you'd like. I started tatting by using a long doll needle (it what I had) and some thin yarn.
I loved this video! My question is when you attach the first two motifs just made do you continue to make the third one from where you attached or do you continue to make individual motifs and then attach them one at a time? BTW, from Texas too!!!!
I'm glad you enjoyed. I would attach the motifs as you work otherwise it is a lot more work. I hope that make sense once you work them up you will see where to attach the motifs together. Nice to hear from a fellow Texan. Happy crafting!
That was the pattern... I just followed what the pattern said. ☺️ I didn't get either, but I was like, "Well the designer wanted it so the designer gets it." 😃
Half stitches are common in shuttle tatting. They can be used at the beginning of a chain to ensure there isn’t a space of thread showing when you transition from ring to chain. In this case it’s used as a filler between the picot and the next stitch. Picot’s were done differently then and would result in a space showing. Then there’s Josephine knots where you do a series of the first half of the stitch and then a series of the 2nd half of the stitch.
This looks beautiful, I have never tried this before, but hoping to give it a try

Why do the 'half stich" ? I've never seen before. Thanks.
