  • Historic Mile 0 of the Alaska Highway! Remy and I continue our journey to Denali via the 1400 mile journey of the ALCAN. This episodes focuses on the first 1/2 of the highway from Dawson Creek, BC to Watson Lake, YT. We see a ton of wildlife along the way and get closer to the Canadian Rockies.
**Note, there was a problem rendering the typewriter graphic at the beginning but I just decided to post the video instead of fixing it because I couldn't figure out the error.

I drove the Alaska Highway back in 1990 so this is bringing back memories. I drove only to Kluane National Park in the Yukon to backpack with my dog. The animals you saw walking along the road that you thought were sheep or mountian goats, I believe they are Stone Sheep. I saw a bunch of them on the road in that same area where there were more mountains. Looking forward to the seeing the rest of your trip. Canada parks are much more dog friendly.

I found the BC parks were the best, probably just because the province itself is so beautiful. Just googled "stone sheep" and definitely sounds right. Apparently, they are found in northern BC too.

Just found your channel while looking for doggie backpack reviews. Looking forward to hearing what you think of the Alpha Pack. We'll be sporting one of your stunt puppy leashes on our next hike. Happy Trails!!
