I love how they picked 20 stoner bands out of maybe 200 and every idiot is mad their favorite isn't in the list. I can think of at least 50 others that aren't on the list. Relax.
While I agree, I think it's universally agreed that Fu Manchu should definitely be on this list.

Quite a few more than 200 and stoner is only half a genre anyway. Between all the sludge, heavy psych, doom, etc... influences everyone has their own definition anyway. Relax indeed.
Maybe they are just voicing their opinion? Why do you assume they are mad? People are passionate about music…their favorite bands…I think it’s great!

Nebula, Atomic Bitchwax, Black NASA, Brain Police, Brant Bjork, Gorilla, Admiral Sir Cloudesley Shovell, Graveyard, Spirit Caravan, Witchcraft, The Hidden Hand, Internal Void, Kadavar, Mountain Tamer, Orchid, Pentagram, Rainbows Are Free, The Shrine, Anvil of Crom....there are a few out there!

That riff in HoF’s 10,000 Years is an absolute stage destroyer. One of my favorite riffs ever.
The bass intro just sets the whole song up to be badass

Greece has a great stoner rock scene, there are severeal band like 1000 mods that easily can come to this list like planet of zeus, nightstalker to name just a few, great list by the way!

Generally pleased with this list- Acrimony getting a mention is a big plus, they were criminally underrated! So many other legends could've made it though- Fu Manchu, Mondo Generator, Sheavy, The Atomic Bitchwax, Ohms...

I think Fu Manchu is the most boring stoner band ever together with Red Fang. Never understood them. Aaaah, another Acrimony fan, nice, Tumuli Shroomaroom was amazing.

When I first saw Acid King I thought it was Hank 3 playing bass until I walked all the way up to the stage, shit tripped me out for about 45 seconds.

Interesting list. Love to see Fatso Jetson , Yawning Man, and Brant Bjork on the list, but to each their own.
Pentagram was an influence on half the bands listed, not only that but better. Where would Cathedral be ?
Witch Mountain is a slower, doomier outfit that would fit in this list beautifully.
THE MIGHTY HIGH ON FIRE and SLEEP are the 2 best stoner doom bands

Great list, I’ll mention Elephant Tree. Was fortunate to see Clutch open for the Melvins mid 90s. Best show I’ve ever seen. Epic.

@@headbangerscastle Scott Reeder said that once they played for Kyuss in a private show in someone's house and that he loved them. They are a true worldwide reference for the style.

Everyone will come up with a different top 20, this one was pretty good. Its kinda hard to rank Kyuss/Qotsa/Sleep/EW, I have no clue how I would make a justifiable choice.

I prefer bands that don't take themselves too seriously for the most part. Stoner metal is like that and still fun. That's why it's my favorite metal subgenre. Well that and the fucking riffs 🤘🤘🤘
IDK some of those guys take themselves too seriously. A lot of the fans definitely do.

Great list, but you have no idea how pissed Sleep is at not being #1 on this list.
Kyuss is much better. Sleep is just a monotonous and doughy version of Black Sabbath' first 3 albums. Kyuss' music is much more creative and groovy. Also, Garcia's voice has more strength, body and feeling
@@manuelsan4901 Let me tell you one great thing about music....a 'best bands' or 'favorite bands' list is largely SUBJECTIVE. For the record, Kyuss is awesome. I just think Sleep is pissed because they aren't #1.

All the guys in Kyuss were talented you can't have that much talent in one band at a time and stay together Homme , Bjorn, Garcia all Had different ideas look at the body of work all three have done all of it bad ass.......
