I have sort of passed over this style because although I am a grandma (Nana actually) I thought it wasn’t for me. But you have really inspired me, you are right I already have those items and I love it. As always Emma practical, honest and realistic. Hi Emma. As soon as I saw the title of today’s video, my mind immediately went to the film ‘Something’s Gotta Give’ with Diane Keaton,Jack Nicholson and Keanu Reeves! I loved Keatons style and her coastal residence was the epitome of great taste. Unfortunately, in the heat of a Greek summer, it’s really hard wearing sleeves even if the fabric is linen or cotton. These lovely looks would be more comfortable for me in early autumn or spring but whatever, they look wonderful whatever the time of year!💖🌸
That’s interesting to hear because I’ve just got back off a cruise where we were in Athens, Mykonos and Santorini and all the locals were wearing long sleeves and long trousers, mainly linen or cotton. It’s something I’ve always done in the heat because science dictates that keeping skin covered actually keeps you cooler than having skin on show. But if you’re comfortable then that’s all that matters 🙌🏼

I’m an Autumn also, but live in a very hot tropical summer climate, some of these colours can be used…. Think white/ cream, lighter bottoms and navy’s blues….at top - additional Autumn colours can be added also. Browns deeper greens ect

This is my aesthetic everyday here in Singapore. I’ve had skin cancer in this past year so I’m always in a long sleeve shirt, hat and linen…..all things linen in this heat.
I'm in Arizona.. we've never had A.C.. we have a swamp cooler.. it works except after rain... We compensate w ceiling fans in every room and oscillating fans. It's not so bad.
I loved this aesthetic, I shopped some of the pieces from your website before we went to Dubai (admittedly the knitwear wasn’t necessary there but glad for it here!) Most of the pieces I picked up were M&S and it really felt like a quiet luxury wardrobe without the price tag. Treated myself to a Loewe pochette bag out there to complete the look (which was a more expensive choice than buying one here!) and I’ve just been so happy with my wardrobe this summer, particularly with not being happy with my weight at the moment I still felt good and confident. Love linen but I need to iron it constantly. Had a linen shirt on for coffee morning with my friends and they asked me if I had forgotten to take my pyjamas off. Have to mention that I'm German and it doesn't work so well here.😢
You have to embrace the laid back style and natural creases of linen. If you’re someone that likes to look crisp at all times then linen is not the fabric for you but this trend/style/aesthetic is very laid back and not about looking crisp 😘

I’ve just got back off a cruise so the tan is natural but normally when not naturally tanned I wear Isle of Paradise tan. The style can also be referred to as coastal granddaughter if you prefer 😘😘

This is my wardrope I adore blue white and neutrals. I struggle in the winter to keep my Coastal Grandmother look. My lovely pale blues look too cold but I don't like navy. .Any tips?
You could always add chunkier items with more neutral tones (beiges) or a bolder accent (tans / Black), if you feel the pale blue is too cold for winter 👍 I love navy I'm afraid so would automatically switch to that.
I got a few navy items in my wardrope so maybe I learn to love it. Just adore light blue. Had a white maxi skirt and a blue linen crop shirt with minimal white sandles and a tan bag on today for one of our few Summer days we got this year. I fell very Coastal Grandmother. 😅😅😅 maybe you could do this again but more Autumn/Winter focus.
If red is your thing then red could be added to suit your personal style but the main colourings of this particular trend are the washed out paler colours x

Love linen but I need to iron it constantly. Had a linen shirt on for coffee morning with my friends and they asked me if I had forgotten to take my pyjamas off. Have to mention that I'm German and it doesn't work so well here.😢
You have to embrace the laid back style and natural creases of linen. If you’re someone that likes to look crisp at all times then linen is not the fabric for you but this trend/style/aesthetic is very laid back and not about looking crisp 😘
@@EmmaHill I combine linen trousers with stripey cotton jumpers. That works but still wash and iron the trousers after every ware. I love it! 🙏

I love all the items you have shown, especially the wide striped black and white top and the cotton knitwear (depending on the type, woollen knitwear makes me itchy!). I'm so pleased that Marks & Spencer have finally burst out of the doldrums of the past years and are now back at the top of their game! I’ve just got back off a cruise so the tan is natural but normally when not naturally tanned I wear Isle of Paradise tan.
The style can also be referred to as coastal granddaughter if you prefer 😘😘

This is my wardrope I adore blue white and neutrals. I struggle in the winter to keep my Coastal Grandmother look. My lovely pale blues look too cold but I don't like navy.

You could always add chunkier items with more neutral tones (beiges) or a bolder accent (tans / Black), if you feel the pale blue is too cold for winter 👍 I love navy I'm afraid so would automatically switch to that.
I got a few navy items in my wardrope so maybe I learn to love it. Just adore light blue. Had a white maxi skirt and a blue linen crop shirt with minimal white sandles and a tan bag on today for one of our few Summer days we got this year. I fell very Coastal Grandmother. 😅😅😅 maybe you could do this again but more Autumn/Winter focus.

If red is your thing then red could be added to suit your personal style but the main colourings of this particular trend are the washed out paler colours x
