    ADVERTISING
As content creation is our business and how we earn our living you will see advertising in our content from time to time in different forms:
We are very selective about what brands we work with on paid/sponsored content creation and as a rule we don't work with any brand that we don't already or wouldn't spend our own money on. We are incredibly proud of all our brand partnership content and it will always be disclaimed in the most transparent way possible so you know exactly what is and 'AD'.
Because we don't work with a large amount of brands on sponsored content we do rely on our RUclips ad revenue. Any adverts you watch during the duration of our videos will earn us a small percentage of 'ad revenue' from RUclips and we really appreciate you watching the adverts in full (and not skipping them), but only if and when you can. We also know that time is precious so no pressure.
We also use 'Affiliate Links' in the description boxes below our videos and if you make a purchase via these links we will earn a small percentage of commission depending on the sale amount. Not all links are affiliate links but just assume they are
Any items/links marked with '[AD - Pr products]' are products which have been 'gifted' from the respective brands without a contract for sponsored content. This is still classed as a form of advertising because nothing is ever "free", brands are gaining exposure to our audience by us featuring them, so these items are marked as 'AD-Pr product' in the description box but we are under no obligation to feature these items. And as with our paid content, we never accept gifting/pr products from brands that we don't already or wouldn't spend our money on. If we have received a press discount on anything featured this will also be disclaimed.

Good morning! Just a couple of additional notes from me which were cut from the video because it was already over half an hour long 🙈:
There are of course lots of other high street/affordable price point brands that have cashmere collections BUT as always I only wanted to discuss the brands and pieces that I actually own and have experience with. These thoughts and my scores for these brands and their cashmere are all based on my personal experience and opinions, there will always be folks that disagree with me and have had different experiences to myself which is why I always urge you to check out other reviews to get a more thorough insight when making such a big purchase. I would also like to reiterate the point about high street brands and their constantly changing supply chain, whilst I have had mainly positive experiences with the items I have purchased from these brands over the years they may change their supplier at any time and the quality of their garments will then be subject to change, this could be positive but it could also be negative.
There are also ethical questions that can be raised with regards to cashmere but I will leave this for you to research if you so choose, I have however left links in the description box (below the video) that you might find useful/informative to learn more about the RWS (Responsible Wool Standard) and the GCS (Good Cashmere Standard) as I mentioned in the video.
Thank you for watching and enjoy the rest of your day x

I have a Uniqlo cashmere turtleneck and a crew neck one. Love them both. Both bought before the pandemic… maybe in 2018. The turtleneck in particular is so durable and washes really well. I love the thinness of the crewneck because it slips under blazers really well. I prefer a thinner sweater for that reason.

I gotta say, I am already a big fan of you creating these videos with rating systems. I think this is great for me at least to know before I buy. I've recently gotten into cashmere from watching your videos, and I'm loving all the good info you're giving out. The softness factor helps because I am someone who gets very itchy from fabrics. But all of this is good to know! Please do this type of video with your fall/winter coats. I so look forward to watching all your content and videos every week.

A shout out for M&S men’s cashmere if you’re looking for something a bit more oversized. The men’s jumpers don’t come in as many colours, but they are slightly thicker than the women’s . And the collar and cuffs feel more durable. Love my black crewneck (have men’s small - I’m a uk women’s 12)

I have a men’s M&S cashmere half zip jumper but that was a bit thinner than my women’s cashmere from the Autograph range so maybe it’s just the classic crew necks that are thicker.

Such a super in depth video Emma, always appreciate the effort and information you put into your content. I don’t own a huge amount of cashmere (mainly beanies and socks) but do have a couple from M&S and H&M premium that have lasted well. With the current climate being what it is I don’t think I’ll be investing in any new pieces this year, but it’s great to know for potential future purchases where to look. ❤️

Loveeeddd this video, I am also a cashmere addict and have bought cashmere from all apart from M&S. 100% agree Cos wins hands down for its quality and thickness of cashmere, I believe this is due to its rigorous detail to their supply chain.
With Uniqlo, I’ve always bought their mens cashmere jumpers as they an oversized slouchy fit, and most importantly, the cashmere is much much thicker than the womens, which to me is a bit on the thin side for a winter jumper. I’ve had these Uniqlo mens cashmere crewnecks for 5+ years and still look great, wash well and minimal bobbling.

Good morning, Emma! Yay - After watching your video, I will definitely be adding to my cashmere collection (bf won't be that happy about it.. 😄)
I bought my uniqlo turtlenecks (white, black, grey, navy) last October. I bought them specifically as layering pieces with blazer for example and have worn them A LOT over the last year.
After a year I find them still as soft and as thick as in the beginning. I haven't noticed any change in their fit and am still as thrilled about them as I was when I bought them. I think it's great value for money and look forward to wearing them again this year! Have a great Sunday!

Love this type of video, we're getting the advantage of you experience, so we can make better choices.
Cashmere is my Autumn/ Winter staple (with merino wool a hairs breath behind)! Must admit to loving a finer gauge over chunkier gauges as I'm petite and chunky knits can be a no no for me. So for me the thickness isn't a quality issue, but down to personal choice. I machine wash mine on a delicate cycle (and I always reduce the spin speed to the minimum. Most of mine is from Boden which is pricier than some other high street brands. I also have a few pieces from a Danish brand Club Collection - they are a company who have produced for others and now do their own direct to consumer items at reasonable prices. I did have a COS sweater, and will agree it is supersoft - the only reason I don't have it anymore is the style and colour was one I'd stopped reaching for.

I ordered a few H&M cashmere jumpers this years… and was a little disappointed: the softness was here but… the shapes were really curious, especially for the sleeves that were very very long! For the Arket sizing (I discovered this brand with you), I am a 44 EU, wearing XL/XXL, and I bought a round neck and a roll neck with raglan sleeve cashmere jumpers both in size L and they fit perfectly (if it can help some of your chubby followers like me ;)

I love that you always give information on sizing and what size you are wearing - it's a really helpful guide when purchasing online and is much appreciated! Re ARKET and COS sizing - I'm 6ft tall and generally buy M or L in jumpers from the women's range from these brands, depending on the cut and what effect/fit I want to achieve. I find that ARKET's L is generally a more generous fit that COS's L with the exception of t-shirts - I don't find either brand's regular fit t-shirts in a size L to be particularly generous in size and often only just fit me across the shoulders. The oversized fits in both brands are generally as described and are oversized. However, ARKET's claim that their size L fits up to a size 20 is ridiculous. I also find it frustrating that ARKET don't put the model size and height on their website so you just have to guess at whether an item will work for you. Indie brands often put the garment measurements in the sizing ie: length, width, leg length etc). This makes it easy to see which size would work in a particular item. Re Uniqlo, there are differences between the cashmere jumpers I bought more than four years ago and their newer ones (I'd say they are thinner now). Plus, they have increased their price quite considerably this year (especially the men's jumpers, which have gone up by £40). The cashmere jumpers I have had for more than four years I can say do wash, in the machine, and wear very well (I usually buy the men's in an XL for a very oversized look). I definitely think that Uniqlo's sizing has got more generous over the years - a 'small', a few years ago, was much smaller than it would be now and they have increased their sizing range in the women's. Plus I love that, as you mentioned, they give measurements for each garment. Sorry for long length of comment!

Unfortunately, Arket doesn’t ship to the US. I’m a San Franciscan, too, and really wish we could get this brand here. British YTers always have beautiful items from them, I’m envious. Quince is a local company that makes nice cashmere and silk, too, and is super-affordable. I have several of their silk skirts (only 60!), tank tops, and and cashmere items and love them, and am unboxing two more of their cashmere sweaters and one jacket today. I think they probably have the best value in luxury fabrics for the US (people shipping to other countries have to pay big tariffs, usually, as we do for British goods). Lily Silk makes nice cashmere, too, for slightly more and they’ve reduced their SF delivery time to about a week (used to take a month). We San Franciscans love Emma Hill! P🙂

I gotta say the COS is thick but not as soft as the Curated. I have other cashmeres from other brands. The COS softness doesn't feel like cashmere in my opinion. It feels more like regular wool. The COS Cashmere is $290 USD+tax which is a little overpriced for the quality. I think The Curated is a better value and quality.

Great video, really useful. I have big cashmere collection mostly M&S, Uniqlo and recently a couple of H&M pieces. Your so right about sizing, except for H&M ( which are oversized pieces) I have to size up one or two sizes to get the right fit. I’ve just bought my first John Lewis cashmere crew neck, I sized up one size, good range of colours, price very competitive, haven’t washed it yet so can’t comment. Definitely going to look at Cos for thicker pieces, my only hesitation is I’m only 5ft 2 in and the length of their jumpers may drown me 😂big thumbs up Emma for your reviews on cashmere loved loved loved !

Hi Emma :) I own cashmere frome COS, Uniqlo and really old ones from &other stories, that said, COS is also my favourite by far. Regarding the washability of Uniqlo, my pieces are 2 and 3 years old, where as the older one is still fine, the newer one developed a weird kind of fluffy texture, a bit like angora, but not that extreme, just not as flat as it used to be (don't know how to describe it better), despite washing it on cold with special cashmere detergent. I kind of have the feeling that the thinner, less expensive cashmere tends to to that more, whereas COS cashmere doesn't, even the thinner pieces from them (speaking of the classic COS cashmere crew neck). On the other hand Uniqlo really doesn't pill...but the fluffy texture prevents me from wearing it, so I guess in the future I will probably gravitate to COS completely. Thank you for your video, it was really interesting seing your collection, especially the navy COS cashmere jumper I regret not buying in the last year, maybe the mens navy crew neck will be an alternative.

They use a lot of organic cottons in their fabrics, and yak wool in their winter clothing. Arket mostly runs very small. I’m a size 12 in almost all shops - but in Arket, wear at least a medium, sometimes a large. No way is large a 16-18! Arket sizes more like a contemporary designer brand, where a large is UK 12-14. Except in coats: some Arket coats (e.g, the down coats) are ENORMOUS.

I also have M&S, H&M, C&A, Uniqlo and Eric Bompard cashmere jumpers, which I've had for years except for the M&S one, which I purchased a few months ago. Among them, I would say the H&M one (I only have one fr H&M and and don't intend to buy again) is my least favourite. My fave is Eric Bompard though it's slightly more expensive than the others - very soft, high quality, just feels so luxurious. Next fave is M&S though I haven't washed it yet and have worn a few times. Uniqlo is also nice though the ones I have I've had for more than 4-5 yrs so maybe the quality/supplier is different fr the ones you have. The only thing I don't like about the Uniqlo ones is the length as I'm petite and they're too long for me.

I've missed Everlane on the list, I know, Emma, You own few of their items also, would You be able to give Your thoughts on their cashmere, please. I must agree with You regarding COS cashmere, although it's only the 2nd season I am wearing the one that I have, but I would rather save and add COS cashmere to my collection every 2-3 years rather than spend my money on M&S or H&M pieces, although, similarly, my first ever cashmere item was from M&S. Unfortunately, even after washing it a lot of times I've managed to shrink it during one of the washes and now my 6year old is starting 3rd season with that very same cashmere sweater, so I've bought it around the same time - 5/6 years ago. So M&S cashmere quality has been tested heavily and should get 7 out of 5 in my opinion :)

    Hello Emma!
I really love your channel. Many thanks for this video. Also, I'm a huge cashmere lover :)
Last year, I found out there were some tips for fixing cashmere and wool shrinkage. Use the same cold temperature for hand washing and rinsing, and add some ordinary hydrogen peroxide. Nearly one tablespoon while washing and 50 ml while last rinsing (let the item in this water mix for approximately 20 min). After that, you can stretch an item (when it is wet) and gently squeeze it into a towel. An additional bonus of using hydrogen peroxide is faster drying. I checked these tips personally. Hope they could be helpful.
Wish you have a great day and looking forward to seeing you at the next videos!
