Hi Phil, I don't know if you know it or not but that is the only national passenger train we have. It passes by here at around 7pm Wed. and Sat. going west bound so we only get to see it in daylight for a few months in the summer. The east bound is always in the night. Seeing it is a treat for us. Cheers, David.
Thanks Ray, I'm getting some much needed work done on the layout along with making progress on the pulp mill. David. P.S. First snow of the season last night, a good covering before the cold hits.
Thank you John. Those passenger cars are a glimpse into the past being nearly 70 years old now. I have ridden in the tail end observation cars, great views to be had. Cheers, David.
Yes, that's what I thought Dave especially as we are about to hit the mid minus 20's this weekend. Those passenger coaches look really good for their age.
Thank you Michael, I do like our passenger train. You did say that you were going back to the layout so I have been expecting to see you working at it again. Airfix announced their 2024 product line today and there is a new Shannon Class RNLI lifeboat in 1/72nd. scale. I thought of you when I saw that although you perhaps no longer need one. As mentioned in this video I have been upgrading my track and burying the wires and that is very satisfying but I am also continuing the pulp mill build. Perhaps an update video is in order for next week. Regards, David.
Happy New Year David. It's interesting to see that similar coaches to my Tri-ang Transcontinental ones with observation decks are still in use in your neck of the woods. Stay safe and happy modelling Mon
Hi Mon, happy new year to you too. To think that these coaches were built just a couple of years after I was born and still going strong. I hope they are still thrilling railfans and passengers alike long after I'm gone. I am at this very moment having a tea break from some very happy modelling. Cheers Mon, David.
Our national passenger service is rather rare so we really enjoy seeing it too. As I said in the video, I am relaying track and keeping a train running lets me know if I've got it right or not. As good as my running has been, I am noticing improvement. More on that in the next video. Regards, David.
Evening, David, sounds like you're getting stuck in on the railway, it's amazing what you think is going to be a little job turns into something completely different. Terrific to see those trains running in the sunshine, wish we had a bit here perhaps with a little heat.. Take care. Oscar
Hello Oscar. I could easily have kept the work to just one piece of track but to tell the truth I have been looking for a project that would see a great advance or progress on the railway. I had in mind to do some more scenery work but having started this and seeing the improvement I decided that this will be my winters project, (along with my pulp mill of course.) We have had our first day of typical winter weather today, Jan. 11th. It was very bright and sunny but the temperature was -17c and strong arctic winds producing a windchill of -27c. tonight we are going down to actual -25c. and Fri. -29c. so yes, the sunny days of watching No.1 go by seem idyllic. Stay dry, we're staying warm. Cheers, David.
Thank you Anthony. The trains are still operating with about 5 cars less than pre pandemic trains but from my observations they seem to be well patronized.
Thank you David, great to watch.
Thank you Paul, that train will pass by again tonight but too dark and cold for me to be out there, I'll hear it go by. Cheers, David.
Beautiful
Thank you.
Love seeing The Canadian! Thanks David
Yes Les, it's a beautiful train.
Hi David very enjoyable video again thank you.👍👍

Nice montage of VIA’s…wonder what capacity of passengers they are actually operating at…
Thank you Anthony. The trains are still operating with about 5 cars less than pre pandemic trains but from my observations they seem to be well patronized.
Hi David, thanks for this, some great shots of No. 1! Look forward to seeing more of your stuff, all the best, Steve
Hi Stephen, thank you, I hope to bring an update on the pulp mill soon. I hope the floods and storms have not affected you too badly. Cheers, David.
@@trainsontuesday No, no floods where I live David, thank goodness!
@@stephenpearce3475 Good news, thank you.
Excellent share David awesome video enjoy trains🫵TSM
Thanks Mike, glad you enjoyed it.
Good morning david
Good morning to you.
good day David. I wonder how many times you caught the same crew driving the train.. just a random thought of the day
Good question Sparky. I think they are just regular CN crews so there are probably quite a few different ones. Cheers, David.
Great catches David
Thank you Dave.
