Your videos are highly entertaining and informative, even though my knowledge about vintage Barbies is pretty low 😅 When you restore a doll, you do that with passion and lifeblood. Love that! And this is definitely rare under collectors nowadays... and even more under Dolltubers 🤣
I LOVE your videos! I have learned so much from you, they are so entertaining and funny, thank you for sharing your knowledge and for being AMAZING!❤❤❤❤❤
Love that I'm not the only one who was obsessed with the I Love Lucy as a kid and also played with her dolls! My mom always wanted me to keep them in the box, but I couldn't resist lol. And you're in FL too?! Small world!!
Just discovered your channel and love it! You are so funny and entertaining not to mention very knowledgeable about Barbie and restoration. 💖 That Terri Lee doll is stunning and I love that you get excited like I do about the quality of vintage dolls and fashion.
Such a fan of your channel, and what you do. You are very relatable. I do the same exact thing with thrift or goodwill finds, and make them look fabulous and magical again. Keep creating and inspiring others,
LOL!!! This was quite the trip! I would LOVE to go flea market shopping with you! So entertaining... 🤣🤣 And OMG!!! That Bubble cut bride from that vintage giftset for $30???? SCORE!!!! (Even with her tiny bits of green ear... I'm sure you could take care of that. 😘) OOOHHH and one can never go wrong with Superstar Christie!!! Congrats!!! She's one of my favourites of that era! (I just photographed my two again for Instagram just yesterday because my out-of-box one just got a new dress!)
I wish you could! I do it alone, which is fine. But I’d love some company! YES I COULDN’T BELIEVE IT! I said sold SO quick! Her green ear will be a quick restoration it’s truthfully not that bad. But what I’m hopeful for is just how original she is. That outfit never came off as well as the gloves. Perfect polish!! I saw your pictures and your dolls are always dressed to perfection, and so beautiful!! You have a great eye for great dolls and fashion and styling!
@@disneybarbiegirl615: Thanks so much!!! I really appreciate that! 😘 I also love watching your restoration videos because I'm great at restoring hair, OK at redoing lips and pretty much suck at everything else! LOL 😜😝... I'm always useless with green ear and I used to re-root some dolls' eyelashes when I started collecting over a decade ago but gave that up quickly as I had no patience whatsoever for it. LOL I can't believe Dean re-roots entire heads and so perfectly, (even though he also complains about it.) I would go nuts!!! I also laughed at so many lines in the flea market shopping segment! “It’s gotten to the point where they put McDonald’s toys behind glass.” LOL!!!
Oh and you also got the Gucci sports bag!!! 😃😃😃 That is SO cool!!! I also flipped when I first saw that as a kid (My Mum owned some Gucci items back in the 70's so I already knew what that red and green stripe meant,) and I had to have the whole outfit for Barbie AND Ken as an adult collector and was so thrilled when I finally got them both. (Though I had to stop eating for two weeks as they were NOT cheap! LOL) Dean and I also made a video on his channel about those two outfits that was shot at my place, if you haven't checked it out.😉 ... and yep! That red and white printed long tube dress is Best Buy #1355 from 1979.
I actually remember seeing the video you both did! Which made me want the fashion even more! I love watching your collabs with each other lol 😂 I’m honestly a big fan of you both. I’d love to find the fashions for both, mint, but that will probably never happen for under 1,000$ lol I need to do some restoration work on Barbie’s coat, but other than that, I’m pretty pleased with the lot of them!
@@disneybarbiegirl615: Oh, thank you so much!! I'm a fan of you too!! 😘I wish you could come over for one of our 'Dolly Days' where Dean visits my place, or I visit his and we just talk dolls all day, show our new acquisitions and take pictures or videos or whatever. It's so much fun and it always goes too fast! LOL We also bring over dolls that both of us have to compare them to each other, (that's often fascinating as there are ALWAYS slight variations to even the same dolls!) I hope you find Ken's matching trench coat outfit, too ... and at a not insane price! LOL (You just NEVER know with collecting. I've sometimes found NRFC outfits I have been wanting for years at a great price, or at least less than I thought I would have to spend. Of course, it doesn't happen that often... but it is SO great when it does!) Though that's such a great haul you got!!!
Such an informative video! I’ve never heard of Teri Lee. She is adorable and that outfit is exquisite! I have a Live Action Barbie with a loose neck knob and now I know how to fix it. I bought a platinum blond swirl Barbie in March with green ear and I have been working on getting rid of it since then. I am making progress but it’s not completely gone. A lady told me that swirls are the hardest to cure of green ear. I can’t wait to see your video on the bubble cut and swirl.
Thank you!! Terri Lee is such a dream when you get her in her really pretty fashions. Aww I’m glad that my video has helped you:) I will be making a video for the two green ear ladies and I hope it too is helpful to ya!!:)
No thrift stores in my area, it’s only ebay for me, but I thrift vicariously through you. That Superstar Christie is a treasure. I have the repro, she is cute, but it just doesn’t hit the same. At least she is a lot better than my Fashion Photo PJ repro with her super wonky eye and crispy overskirt cause mattel couldn’t make it soft apparently. I love the Hawaiian Fun girlies! They are so blindingly neon and have really nice hair. I can relate with changing Crystal Barbies body… those spots activate the ocd in me. She is still a great find though! I miss the pink box era so much 😢 especially that curly logo. Best Barbie logo ever.
Aww well I’m glad you’re thrifting with me!! I’m gonna have to keep recording my adventures because you never know what I’ll find next. I too LOVE shopping on eBay. I’ve had to slow down because the projects I have right now is overwhelming. So I need to buckle down and restore what I have:)
Love this kind of video! Do you have a video about how to change bend n snap legs? I have some 60s Kens with swingy arms and I've tried a few things but I don't want to do anything too invasive. Anyway, your content is getting better and better! Love the humour, love the knowledge, and I also love purple!
Great suggestion! I should make a video doing it. But I’ll just tell you how to. If we are talking about vintage dolls from 1959-1970, you’ll need boiling water, and a bowl. The hot water will make the plastic less likely to break as you pluck off the legs. You have to be careful however because the torsos sometimes age differently (depending on what batch they were in most likely) and some are more brittle than others! Before sticking in the new legs, do the same process again to just assure that the plastic will be okay with the pressure!
You have the best doll luck. I’m in Texas and the thrift stores and flea markets I’ve been to are total duds. We used to have a doll mall and it was a doll collectors dream but it closed down a few years ago. Haven’t found a hot spot since
Aww I hope you find another treasure trove again! I had booths like that who sold lots of great dolls and I would go back and they never came back or left. It’s always so devastating because you look forward to seeing them!
So many treasures can you believe it??:) she happens to be one of the most untouched Barbie’s I’ve ever had. I’m going to make a video on restoring both of the green ear ladies.
💛💛💛💛 Gasp……Super Star Christie!!!!!! LUCKY!!!!! I’m always keeping my eyes open for her thrifting because sadly, I’m not paying hundreds of dollars for her. I’ll never forget the first time I laid eyes on this doll……..It was 1979ish and 10 year old Janet was at lunch in the elementary school cafe. Sitting next to me was my African American friend “Chanon”. All of a sudden she pulls out this absolutely stunning doll with two toned hair and a fabulous yellow gown with lacy feather boa!!! That was the very first time I saw her. I could not wait for the end of the day so that I could hopefully get my Dad to take me to the store!!! 💛💛💛💛💛 P.S. ❤️💚💜💛🩷 You know that one shoulder dress you have sun lovin Barbie wearing? That’s one fashion I distinctly remember having as a kid. I would love to run across that in the wild! I think Miss Sun Lovin looks absolutely stunning in it!!! P.S.S. I enjoyed taking a peek at your Barbie dream house 🏠. I recently got the 1974 Barbie Townhouse (because naturally I remember that one as a kid) and I’m so looking forward to decorating it and setting up my dolls inside it!!! Do you leave the same dolls inside yours all the time or do you switch them out?
I couldn’t believe when I won her auction. I did have to spend more than I thought, and more than I would’ve had I gotten her in the box so many years ago, but she is a truly special doll. But it’s been years and years and I just now found one that was acceptable. I LOVE hearing about Barbie back then! Like how superstar Barbie must’ve shook up kids back then with all of her glamour. I kinda relate it similarly to when she got the new body in 2000! Anyone who had the new Barbie with the new body at the playground was the talk of the school yard. I’d imagine she was the same but bigger! I’d love to see your townhome! No, they sort of switch from room to room, outfit to outfit, and the Ken’s are always coming and going lol
In about 1985 my mom got cabbage patch dolls for me and my sister. You could only buy 1 so mom took her friend with her so she could get 2. I still have that doll in storage.
Hi @disneybarbiebgirl615, I just wanted to let you know that my "Great Shape Barbie" has arrived today with the mail and lucky the doll is in perfect condition, the hair is fortunately good and especially thick rooted in the head 😃, no weird bald spots and bumps on the head so I am very happy with this copy of the doll, so another great doll to ad at my collection. 🙂
I just came across your channel and subscribed right away because i love vintage barbies and restoration videos. Would you please show how you replace the 1980s barbie legs? Thank you!
Aww thank you! 1980-1984, the legs had a knob that makes them easy to come off. However boil water and let them sit in it for a few seconds so the plastic softens so they don’t break.
I'm only halfway through your wonderful video, but I had to laugh at your need for a Cabbage Patch Kid. I have an accidental collection, a bin full. But do you watch A Thousand Splendid Dolls? They are SO into Cabbies now!
And ... I finished the video and see you call Shelly your friend and even have Disney doll stands she made! 💖 Congratulations on your haul. Lovely restorations. The final pink formal gown certainly is stunning! I also enjoyed your funny commentary at the antique malls/flea markets!
Yess!! That’s her! We have been friends since 2012 or 2011. Her collection has become so beautiful!! Although it was always beautiful to me. I think what inspired me to get one was because I see them all the time, and there’s so much charm about them! Although I love my cabbie, tater lol, I would like to get her a friend lol
Sorry to hear that your "Crystal Barbie" is missing hair in some places, I think it was also a factory defect because I once ordered a "Great Shape Barbie" and there was also a lot of hair missing on one side of the head and on the other side of the head it was well rooted, but there was also a kind of plastic bulge on her head as if she wasn't made properly, and I decided to sell her again and now I've ordered another "Great Shape Barbie" that will hopefully arrive this week, and hopefully that hair is well rooted without any defects in the head. So yes, it can certainly be frustrating as a Barbie collector that something is wrong with the doll, and because they are quite pricey when you buy them new in the box, you actually expect good quality. I love you : Superstar Christie" i wish i found her somewhere but she's so hard to find and i only see many reproduction "Superstar Barbie and Christie" but to me it isn't the same as you buy the original from 1977.
See not even Barbie in her past was squeaky clean! Quality fails happen even to the best of them! My 1959 barbie has a dent in her leg cause of an air bubble in her leg. Stuff happens. I am happy you were able to replace your doll! I’m going to keep this one, as it’s not really her fault. And to be honest, if her hair killed me, I would’ve just rerooted it. Her face is super sweet. I hope your replacement doll is fabulous! I’d love to hear from you again and hopefully your experience when getting this new one is better!
@@disneybarbiegirl615 Yes that's right not all Barbie's from the 70's, 80's has their clean flaws but my first Great Shape Barbie that i got as a kid was in perfect condition so i hope my new copy will be in great condition too, and if i knew how to rerooted Barbie's hair i might have done it myself too but i'm not that handy, i'm just glad how to take care of their hair and keep is smooth and shinny but i will let you know when it's arrived and if it has any issues. 😉 That's a bummer that your 1959 doll has a dent in her leg because of a air bubble, but your right it's not really the dolls fault, and speaing of Crystal Barbie I do have her too but i can't see how her hair is rooted at this moment because she's still new in the box like some other Barbie's from the 80's that i have, but i will open them when my display stand is ready so that i can finally display all my 80's Barbie's in it. 🙂
Yes, kind of. 1977-late 1978 will have neck strings if they have the superstar look. The dolls starting with fashion photo Barbie, won’t have them. It’s an easy way of telling who’s who!
14 dollars for a bootleg monster high doll sold on shein? 4:44 such crazy prices ,I have to comment and actually add a period at the end of this sentence.

My sister had a Teri Lynn Baby Linda doll.
That’s so cool! I’ve never seen those in person!
😂😂😂😂 Your commentary had me 😂😂. But also - are you a RPDR fan? 😍😍
Hehe I’m a fake fan, I’ve never seen a full season, I’ll only watch an episode with my favorite queens!!:)
@@disneybarbiegirl615 haha! There are so many! :D
I still have my Crystal Barbie, but need to redo her hair.
Should be easy peasy
First
It would be so cool to put some led lights inside the Barbie dream houses so you can see inside. I found it to be a bit difficult to see
Great suggestion. I think I want two of these to make one big mansion
Where do you buy your kaiser stand
Were those head strings only on the Superstar dolls?
Yes, kind of. 1977-late 1978 will have neck strings if they have the superstar look. The dolls starting with fashion photo Barbie, won’t have them. It’s an easy way of telling who’s who!
No stores like those in Northern Kentucky 😭
Yes there is:) check out the peddlers mall!
I fix barbie's neck with acrilic for nails, maybe can be useful for you
I used to do that! Did you know baking soda and super glue will give you the same effect?:)
14 dollars for a bootleg monster high doll sold on shein? 4:44 such crazy prices ,I have to comment and actually add a period at the end of this sentence.
That’s what I’m saying lol 😂 the paint was fuming
U have a nr 1???!! Plz show us her instead
I have:)
