      Also a takeda intake gives it a little sumthin sumthin in the induction noise dept. Also seems to boost my acceleration too, I can feel it anyway. Closed for a little extra oomph and normal maintenance, open for all the noise, all the power and more frequent cleaning of the filter. I got the stage 2 open.

    Test drove the Jetta GLI, Civic SI and the Forte GT all in 6 speed manual. All within 4-k of each-other. I absolutely fell in love with the 2021 Forte GT. It feels so much better off the line, than the SI or GLI. The only thing I did not like was the shifter. Not sure what they were thinking with that. I ended up with the Forte GT. The 5 k I am saving over the others I have gotten a stage 2 cold air intake, a blow off valve , and a short throw shift kit. Im guessing im putting out right at 220HP and I am still 3 grand under the what I would have spent with the other two.
    This is such a fun commuter/ weekend cruiser, if you are on the fence, don't be this is the one.

    All your doing is showing your hand that you don’t know how a dct works. It doesn’t have a torque converter. I assume you know that. That’s why it is “clunky” because there is a direct connection between the throttle and the momentum of the car. You are trying really hard to be edgy with these reviews.

    • @PerformanceOnWheels
      @PerformanceOnWheels  2 года назад

      I've driven tons of cars with DCTS. I have only been in 1 car with as clunky as an experience as this one which was the Nissan GT-R of the earlier generations of the R35. I'm not being "edgy" I'm being honest it shouldn't be that clunky.

      @@PerformanceOnWheels I’ve driven my buddies mk6 R32 and I’ve ridden in a newer s3 with a dct. The forte is compatible to both of them. You just don’t like the way it engine brakes. But even if I go out and put my manual car in first gear, take it to 3-4K and go on an off the gas a lot it will do the same thing. First gear has the biggest difference in car speed vs. rotational mass of the clutch. The “jerkiness” you describe when the car engine brakes will reduce significantly at greater speeds. If I’m going 30mph down the road, and do that same procedure. It’s not as dramatic as you say. Pretty sure you also said the forte also has 8 gears. So it makes you sound less credible.

    So I can give my opinion on the Kia forte gt since I clearly have the most experience on this subject. Had 2022 Kia forte gt. Paid cash for it. Added 15k in modifications and just drove the car like it was hot. Kept in sport mode whole time. Was getting 45mpg. I put 94000 miles on it in 2 years. Enjoyed the car so much. I removed all the modifications and then traded in for a 2024. So now I got the 24 with all the modifications on it and apparently now I can get 51mpg. I drove the piss out of the 2022 and never had one single problem. Let his sink in….sport mode getting top gas mileage at 51 and average at 47. I have videos on my channel of my cars.

    I just bought a 2022 Kia Forte gt with the 6spd manual just a couple weeks ago. I have really enjoyed the car, best bang for the buck out there. I also got almost 2k off the car because it had been sitting there and no one new how to drive manual so they gave me a “manual discount” LOL! My biggest complaints with the car is that with the manual shift nob, you can’t change it out and so your stuck with the sh*tty stock one. The second complaint is the jerkiness on acceleration in lower gears and the turbo lag (normal and sport mode). Besides that, this is a great car and seriously worth the money

    PS: But hey, for me 6.3 is very quick for me, since my last vehicle which was a 2020 Ram Longhorn takes 10.6 sec at best to go 0 to 60 and the 2015 Silverado HC I had before that took around the same time

    If your coming from any NA 4 cyl, this motor is torqey as hell, you wont want for passing power, but you just wont get it all until 2nd gear. Well matched with the dct. an intake for this car is a must, it even eliminates some starting out hesitation. I have a catless downpipe and factory exhaust only, no tune, this really unlocks the near redline hp and boost punch and the engine seems to operate much more smoothly with the trans with low throttle input, like it irons out all the auto shifty weirdness with the trans. My 2018 E. S. is a riot to drive when you want to have some fun, and I dont even have a tune.

    A Manuel is interesting for about 5,000 miles. From 5,000 miles to 45,000, a manual is a total pain. After about 50,000 miles, you shift without even realizing it. Guaranteed, despite less moving parts, cheaper price, better gas mileage, you’ll look for an automatic next time. But lower price/less parts/less wear/better gas mileage could at least tempt you. Would be a mistake to pick another manual, probably.

    Great review. I wonder if you have driven a Forte GT Manual with the SXTH Element EM3 Lower Engine Mount. I have a 22 GT manual and the stick handles much better (with the trade off of more vibrations). Also, please consider changing the tires to the Michelin Sport Pilot 4, it will make a big improvement. Something that I don't like of the DCT, is the transmission is like a manual in the sense that will requires a replacement of the dual clutch, and this is not covered by the warranty. The price is double for replacing the DCT clutches versus the single clutch on the traditional manual and both have a similar life spam. Keep up with the great job with the videos!

    Are you getting the jerkiness of the DCT in all drive modes at low speeds? Just wondering if it's less jerky in eco mode. Without having driven one yet, I'm assuming if it's in sport mode the DCT is trying to hold gear because it's programmed to think you should be close to full throttle and by going slow it doesn't know what to do. Would love if you could make a video featuring just the transmission performing at different speeds. Also thank you for the videos featuring this car, it's been very helpful in narrowing down some options for myself.

      @@PerformanceOnWheels let's just hope he was modded lol. The power to weight ratio wouldn't add up for him to blow your doors off 😂. 4800lb V6 Silverado with 285hp vs a 3000lb forte gt with 201hp.

      You have one hand on the wheel. Your not a performance car driver you wouldn't have a habit of doing that even if it was a Prius

    I haven’t heard anyone use “super-this” or “super-that” as much as Austin when describing something since the last time my 12-year-old daughter had a bunch of her friends here for a sleepover. Work on expanding that vocabulary, Austin…right now it’s nails on a chalkboard 😬

      @@PerformanceOnWheels That only proves how many poor vocabularies there are out there. I do voiceovers for a living…and I’m not trying to disparage you. Take another listen and count how many times you use the word…it borders on comical. Just offering some constructive criticism…you can accept it or not🍺

    Yeah this cars known to go as low as 6 seconds lol plz don’t make this car look bad ! Ppl don’t understand, manual is only better if you’re good at driving one. If you’re “ok” just do dct cuz you’re gonna tear this car up over time
