I remember reading through my raspberry pi starter book at the minecraft section saying how it can be molded with python. 2: it runs on raspberry pi 1 You did mention that minecraft ran on raspberry pi, but you did not mention that it was later models of raspberry pi that minecraft java or bedrock runs on. I remember owning a first batch model 1 raspberry pi and seeing that it ran minecraft better than it could run super mario world. 3. It was specifically designed for raspberry pi The other versions of minecraft are not designed for raspberry pi, so all the quirks and features of the pi are not fully utilized like the original(not like anyone uses all the features on a system motherboard anymore at all, but it's the thought that counts) (Read the comment below, he has some really good arguments)
1. True, but from what I can tell, the extent that people modded Pi Edition was VERY limited. Like, the most impressive things I saw in my research were just adding in features that normal Minecraft already had, like sound or survival mode. It seems that the modding in Pi Edition was about as complex as vanilla commands were a few years back, and now commands have surpassed it. 2. Yeah, that's completely fair. Nowadays Minecraft can run well on a Pi, but the earlier Pi computers weren't even close to handling the game, so it made a little bit of sense for a few years. 3. I mean, I guess, but I don't think most people cared about fully utilizing the board - they just wanted to play Minecraft on a cute little PC :p
@mcbyt you're right, people don't really care about fully utilizing a board(especially when it comes to video games). You're also right that the modding isn't all that impressive. However, the modding was mostly done by young teens or kids, which is what the pi version of minecraft catered to. Like edu edition or education edition, it was made to be a starting ground for newer game devs or modders who, in the future, might be interested in joining minecraft's dev team
@@mcbyt It was mostly for learning coding and stuff, completely different ground compared to the other entires. But yeah, Birb has the right mind. it's not something you just casually play, its more like a tool. can you tell I care about the slander you threw at my boi Pi edition (fun fact, I've played it before, its okay) 😭

I have a few things to say about Minecraft: 3Ds edition. I love the 3Ds as I collect games for it, and I love minecraft for the 3Ds. so first of all, its not a "stripped down version of pocket edition" its a stripped down version of console edition or legacy edition. Second, it very easily hits 45 fps. (with a few lag spikes), as when mojang updated the game for the last time they decided to fix the preformance issues that held the game down to 20 or 30 fps.
Fun fact about Minecraft EDU Like he said in the video, it is based of Minecraft 1.8.9, but it also uses Forge, that means you could add you own mods or use the mods included within Minecraft EDU like every other Forge mods

about 4 years ago in middle school our school only had macs so we ended up playing the minecraftedu version and playing around with the turtles and computers
The new nintendo 3DS was capable of playing various virtual console titles and, most importantly, it had a second stick in the top right that made it possible to look around.
A few things to note about PI edition: 1) Yes, you can play the full version of Minecraft on a PI these days, however it wasn't possible when PI edition launched. IIRC, PI's of that era were way too underpowered to do so and also lacked the proper librarys along with not having 64 bit support. 2) I believe PI edition had some simple scripting functionality and it was intended to be used to learn basic scripting. Anyways, good video! Just wanted to note those two items
Minecraft pi edition was my first version of MC. I remember all my friends with real computers talking about mobs and survival and all that fun stuff, but I was just on my own digging tunnels and outlining them with wool.
About that sponsor: Yeah, I definitely like waiting few hours just so a white blob runs faster so I can watch him do that. Definitely very fun gameplay. /j
@@mcbyt It isn't, you just wait few hours and then race until you need to upgrade, so you wait or screw that waiting and pay gems so it upgrades faster. Also, before you say that it is fun because of gadgets, no, it's still boring since almost always the best gadget is recommended. Clicker and Idle games have more gameplay than this, for example in Cookie Clicker there are diffirent minigames you can unlock to earn more cookies. This makes the game have more gameplay attached to it than just waiting to earn something. You also need to know which upgrades to buy or which buildings to buy so you don't lose cookies. Yes, I know I am only using Cookie Clicker as an example, though I am pretty sure other clicker games have some things that spice up the gameplay, it's just the fact that I am the most familiar with Cookie Clicker. pi edition did have a resson to exist. its a free version of minecraft that has built in support for python, which allows you to code things into the game world with little more than a python IDE, making basic coding seem more approachable. it also used to come bundled with older versions of raspberry pi os, back when it was called Rasbian. this comment will probably go unnoticed but hey, just thought i should get this out there.
