Just found your channel and have subscribed. I wish I could remember where I first went fishing with my grandad nearly 70 years ago but despite having a photo of me with my first fish, a perch, noone in the family has ever been able to tell me. It started my love for angling just for fun. Thanks for the video and the memories it brought back.
I do think people starting to fish nowadays just go straight onto catching & wanting to catch the biggest carp they can and that’s it. They aren’t interested in any smaller species, but this kind of fishing for me is the best. You cant beat keeping busy, keeping out in nature and just catching fish. Doesn’t have to be huge carp to enjoy fishing 🎣
If people want to do that then fine, but they're missing out on a lot of fun and acquiring knowledge of different rigs, different types of water and gaining valuable experience. There's fishing, and there's catching.
100% mate! Fish for everything, especially as you're growing up... you learn so much about everything if you start small and work your way up. Even now we still love this style of fishing.
Thank you for bringing me to your childhood fishing spot, loved it 🙏! I have very reach imagination and for a moment I was there with you back in the days, it is just mind blowing👀🤯🥳💯!!! Got new subscriber here from Kazakhstan! I also make fishing videos, but mine are not as good as yours yet 🤷♂🤦♂😁🖐
This was how fishing started for me many years ago .fishing the end section of a 12ft rod with a reel selotaped to the end fishing streams and back waters ive caught stickle backs.newts frogs loach tiny pike roach perch minows skinners was great fun always worrying if the local farmer or land owner was going to chase you off
This is the sort of fishing I started with and I enjoyed it Hugely. Now I stand casting for hours for a non existent salmon. I think I must be mad. Next stop my local brook and dig out the coarse gear---and a maggot or two! Thank you for uploading this lovely Vid.
Lovely stuff! So many memories off all the small streams and bits of river where me and my brother used to catch so many small roach, dace, chublets and gudgeon from 30odd years ago!
A great big thank you from the States, congratulations on your wedding! I really appreciate you sharing these beautiful sceneries and your knowledge. I wish you the best 👌 👍

Merry Christmas & happy New year. 😎🎣🐟
7:10 to 8:40 Are you sure that you weren't just catching 'a' fish, releasing it then catching the same fish again, over and over! 🙂 Anyway great video, it reminded me of my early fishing days 40 years ago, I would ride my moped from Sandiway ('Uoop Norf') down to the Dane with some tackle strapped to my back, happy days!
Haha! It looked that way didn't it! 😂 Strange as it was such a lovely spot, but nothing more than micro day... perhaps on another day it might be different! Hope you're still catching a few fish. 😊🎣
Barbel been Ottered to non existence out of this river sadly , more chance of swinging in a T- Rex ! This river like many is on its knees and at the point of no return sadly 😢
Funny as Chub ,not as numerous as 10/20 years ago in my experience still seem to survive and grow to decent weights along side otters , yes many are caught damaged / chomped / tails in half but in my humble opinion Chub have grown to become even more spooky and hidden to avoid these furry fish stock destroyers! I guess Barbel like Pike seem to be like sitting ducks and an easy target in these clear , slow shallow upper rivers. These are my thoughts as an Angler of these East Anglian Rivers for over 40 years and counting!!
@@glenpalmer392 Thanks for sharing. Beautiful Chub. Wish I knew where to fish for them
I've heard they live in water, mainly rivers!😁
Explore round some of your local rivers, try areas with a bit of structure, they love some cover!
What do you think of the korum allrounder quiver?
I also note your using it for float fishing? Does it handle float fishing well? Thanks
Very enjoyable video but how many places were restricted “club” waters?
Hi Clive, none were. We don’t fish the rivers enough (as we love all fishing) to warrant paying for yearly tickets.
Love it congrats on yr marriage!
